- Introduction: The Basic Knowledge of Arcane Magic -

Arcane magic was created by the God of Creation, Lord Notch, to use as an instrument of protection against the evil of the God of Destruction, Lord Herobrine. The magic itself is the strongest mundane (mortal) magic type in all of creation, capable of repelling gods and altering the very fate of the world, it is not a magic to be used lightly.

Lord Notch knew that he could only bestow such a magic upon his most trusted, the deity's closest friends - The Twelve Elites, the First Generation Guardians of Estir, and first Arcanic Wizards: Hugh Rizmer, Brian Jackson, Nicholas Drayton, Peter Azdel, Trevor Speir, Ray Blodwell, Clarissa Rawlyn, Rachel Mylner, Adeline White, Eve Colard, Martin Noke, and lastly, Nigel Ayleward. This was the origin of what is known as the Noble Bloodlines of Wizards, after all, Arcane Magic can only be used to its full potential by the direct bloodlines (a lineal descent) of the Twelve Elites. (See entry 'The Twelve Elites' for more information)

Not all children of the noble bloodlines contain the ability to use Arcane magic, which is why a test exists to be able to determine who has the aptitude to use such a highly powerful and dangerous piece of magic. Those who possess the ability to use the magic are then called fledglings, novices who have yet to use the magic they have inherited.

Arcane Magic puts a massive strain on the body that normal mundane wizards cannot withstand, overtime, Guardians are trained to become resistant to this strain to the point that it is nonexistent. The only exception to this rule is the Extreme Spells, spells that use both the magic of the caster and the invisible planetary highways (Magnus Strands) that run all through Estir. (See entries 'Extreme Magic' and 'Magnus Strands' for more information). The strain is due to the combination of magics that arcane wizards use as the magic is not just one type of magic. Guardians often learn one type of Arcane Magic and specialize in it while also learning the most basic spells such as the Demonic Arcane Spells.

For example, Late Master Guardian Nicholas Drayton was known for his work in creation and elemental water magic as well as his ability in creating the most peculiar inventions. Master Nicholas often used spells that involved in the creation of massive structures or weapons (He had a very successful career in swordsmanship). While he knew all of the basic Arcane Spells that all Guardians are required to know, he stretched his interest in creation/water magic and created spells in those areas, and added them to this grimoire for future generations.

At the very center of Arcane Magic is what is known as Arcanic tongue, the language of Arcane Wizards that can only be taught by Master Arcane Wizards. To be able to use any spells, or even read the rest of this grimoire, you must master the language of the Guardians. (See entry 'Arcanic Tongue: The Language of the Guardians' for more information and consult your assigned Guardian Mentor for guidance).

When Notch first created the magic, he did not know how powerful it was until the Twelve Elites started to master it. Upon seeing how akin the magic is to the power of Gods, rules were put in place to keep the Guardians of Estir from reaching a state of enlightenment.

Rules:
- No Naturally Caused Flying Magic
- No Healing Magic
- No Purification Magic
- Weather Spells limited
- No Nullification Magic
- No God-Like Immortality
- No expanding your mana pool
- Creation Magic limited
- No Mind/Psychic Magic
- No Dimensional Traveling without permission
- No teaching anyone not of Noble Blood Arcane Magic
- No allying yourself with another god without permission
- No Magic Staffs

The Rules of the Guardians of Estir are always changing, growing, and sometimes shrinking. For example, Nicholas Drayton broke the rule of having no magical staffs when his genetic condition of producing more mana than his body can withstand was also the death of him. Notch granted him leniency, allowing him the use of a magic staff to use to regularly drain himself of magic so his mana levels were within the safe zone.

Any rule-breaking is to be asking for a serious punishment from Lord Notch, whether you are stripped of your Guardian title and job or your mana lines are ripped from your body, it is advised to tread carefully and cautiously as the rules listed are the ones that Lord Notch takes most seriously.

Many children who can use Arcane Magic do not take the path their parent(s) did. But it is expected that at least one child of each family will take up the mantle, so whether you feel ready to start your training in this dangerous art of magic or not, be warned...

The Guardians of Estir is the most elite and high-ranked status a wizard can achieve, just because you start your training does not mean that you will become one of Notch's legendary protectors. This training is meant to be gruesome and difficult, it is meant to test you and your mettle, to determine whether or not if you have what it takes to lead the humans, demi-creatures, and mundane wizards to the future and protect them from whether that be themselves or the lurking darkness.
