THE ONLY ONE knowing I still visit my old apartment is Leo. I would have told the sisters I did but this was kind of my safe heaven. Or so...

I looked through my closet grabbing the box I had with me since I ran away from my home in New York. I rummage through my baby blanket chuckling a bit seeing my dad's favorite fairytale book he always read to me before going to sleep that I had taken without him noticing, tearing up a bit as I as well noticed my mom's necklace. My dad had told me before I was born she had said she was going to give it to me.

Along that stuff, I looked at the pictures of me and my dad at home, some friends and Samantha, my used to be best friend since kindergarten. It was the time when demons still didn't enter my life.

I looked up sensing the air shifting behind me. I tensed feeling the familiar bad vibe and I glared at the floor, narrowing my eyes

"Why can't I have a peaceful day?" I growled, my eyes glowing purple as I stood up, turning to face the demon.

The Demon's brown eyes widened at my expression. Quickly, a fireball appeared in his hand but before he could do anything else, I raised my hand to him making his fireball disappear as he started to gasp for air, crawling at his throat as purple burns began to form on his skin.

"Leave me alone" I growled at him, flickering my hand copying Piper's power making him explode. The purple glow fading away from my green eyes as I relaxed taking a deep breath

"I seriously need to learn to do that while sober" I said quietly before looking down at my pictures. I bit my lip shoving everything to my box and blinking away my tears I stood up, not wanting to swallow in self pity and I shoved the box and some clothes on my backpack before walking out of my bedroom, calling Leo in the process

"Leo! I'm ready to go!" I called out going through the hallways.

As soon as I finished shouting, Leo was already appearing on the living room

"Ready?" He asked holding his hand to me. I smiled slightly grabbing his hand

"Yes" I replied nodding before chuckling a bit.

Leo glanced down at me furrowing his eyebrows "What's funny?"

"Nothing. I just... I need to learn to orb by myself, that's all. It's embarrassing being part white-lighter and not knowing how to do so" I said with a sigh.

Leo chuckled softly "Its alright. You will learn. Everything to their due time, Kassandra" he told me reassuringly making me nod with a sigh before he orbed us to the Halliwell Manor

As soon as we arrived, I knew something had happened.

"I'm telling you, that was a demon" Paige was saying to Piper and a blonde woman "No crazy person off the street is that good with an axe"

My eyes flickered to the woman sensing the power coming from her but something was odd, furrowing my eyebrows.

Piper sat down on a couch and opened a fairy tale book.

"Except, since when do demons attack with an axe?" Leo asked next to me, letting me know he knew what was happening before coming for me.

"Athame, axe, what's the difference?" Paige waved her hand before noticing me, looking confused at the woman "Hey, Kass, where were you?"

The blonde woman walked to the Book Of Shadows opening it as she saw me

"The Guardian" she smiled at me, I narrowed my eyes making her chuckle "Now dear, I'm no danger, I'm Penny, the girls' grandmother"

Ah, well. That explains something.

"Oh, well, nice to meet you" I smiled but frowned quickly "Wait. Aren't you supposed to be dead or something?"

Penny laughed slightly "Yes, I am. I'll let the girls explain you later, but now...." she flickered open the Book Of Shadows "There's a demon to find. Let's just see if there's anymore where he came from. I mean, I certainly don't want a body if it's gonna get chopped up"

"Well, Piper says you're the super witch, what do you think he was?" Paige told her

"I don't know" Penny shrugged "Although there was something about him that looked familiar"

"A little like this maybe?" Piper asked, holding up the book showing us the picture of a Woodsman

"Oh, the woodsman, of course" Penny said in realization "Oh, you recognised him too" Penny told Piper

I recognized the picture of the Woodsman from the collection of fairytales my dad had and I dropped my backpack to the floor, pulling out my copy of the Sleeping Beauty. My favorite fairytale. I hugged the book to my chest

"I read fairy tales to my baby just like you read to me" Piper told her, shrugging

"Oh, darling" Penny giggled "Well I'm glad you're finally doing something"

"Wait, you're saying a fairy tale character came to life and attacked us?" Paige said skeptically before rolling her eyes "Come on"

"Well, why not? They're real, I mean, at least they used to be" Penny told her

"What?" Paige asked confused

"Oh, Paige" Penny sighed "I can see I have lots to teach you too" Penny told her

Hearing Penny saying fairytales were real, I wanted to hear more. So after Paige offered orbing my stuff back to my room except for my book, I sat down hearing Penny explaining

"Fairy tales are not all fables, my dear" Penny began, "Some are recountings of ancient battles between good and evil. And they're as much apart of our heritage as anything in the Book of Shadows"

I looked down at my book with a new point of view as I smiled slightly down at it

"You expect me to believe that there are giant beanstalks and gingerbread houses that actually existed?" Paige asked skeptically

"You used to think that the Evil Enchantress was just a fairy tale too, didn't you?" Leo told her with a shrug

"That was different. That was... " Paige said hesitantly

"A past life. Yours" Piper cut her off

"Wow" I breathed in amazement as Phoebe walked to the attic carrying a gift box

"Hey, you guys, was anyone here when this got..." She began but stopped abruptly seeing her grandmother in the attic "Grams!"

"In the flesh. So to speak" Penny told her grinning as they hugged

"Oh, it's so good to see you. Wait, what did I just hug? Where did you get the body from?" Phoebe asked

"Oh, it's a long story" Penny waved a hand.

"And speaking of stories, a fairy tale just tried to slice our heads off" Piper told her

"A fairy tale?" Phoebe asked confused looking at all of us

"The Woodsman from Snow White" Leo explained

"Okay, well, that would explain where these came from, glass slippers" Phoebe said showing us the gift "Cinderella's no doubt. Cole knows it's my favorite"

"Cole? You think Cole is doing all of this?" I asked her hesitantly

"Who else has enough power to turn fairy tales against us?" Phoebe asked raising her eyebrows "I told you he was gonna attack" Phoebe told us

I sighed hesitantly. I didn't know personally the guy but he sounded bad news. I looked at Penny

"Except it was an evil witch who sent the woodsman in Snow White" Penny told her

"I think I'd better go check with the elders" Leo said with a sigh

"I think you better" Piper told him in agreement. Leo orbed away in a swirl of blue lights, as Phoebe started taking off her shoes "What are you doing?" Piper asked her, frowning

"Proving that I'm right" Phoebe replied

"Hey, that's risky" Paige told her "You don't know what could happen"

I stood up and walked to Penny, standing next to her

"Well, I know that Cole won't hurt me, physically anyway" Phoebe told us opening the box and pulling out the slippers

"Well, as much as I distrust him, we don't know that it's him behind this" Paige said

"All the more reason to play along, find out who is" Penny said "We can't just sit around here and wait to be attacked"

"She could get killed" Paige argued. She looked between me and Piper "Kass, Piper, a little support here" I exchanged a look with Piper, we hesitantly looked at her

"Uh, if Grams thinks it's a good idea who am I to disagree?" Piper said

"I agree, what could possibly go wrong?" I asked hesitantly.

Phoebe put the slippers on but nothing happened

"See, no problem. I'm fine" Phoebe said shrugging before a blue light swirled around her from her feet to her head changing her clothes into a ball gown

"Wow..." I exclaimed in amazement

"Actually, I'm better than fine" Phoebe said looking down at herself before her legs started moving on their own leading Phoebe towards the door. "Whoa" She exclaimed in alarm

"Where are you going?" I asked her startled

"Whoa" Phoebe exclaimed again as she walked to the attic door

"Where are you going?" Piper repeated my question.

Me, Piper and Paige follower Phoebe to stop her

"Don't know! I can't stop!" Phoebe exclaimed as we tried to hold her back

"Well, get out of them" Piper instructed her

"I can't. The door. The door" Phoebe exclaimed, holding onto the door frame

"Grams, what do we do?" Piper asked, looking at her grandmother

"Just let her go" Penny said calmly "We're never gonna be able to get to the bottom of this if you don't"

We let Phoebe go and she walked downstairs

"Paige, follow her, orb her out if she gets in trouble" Piper told her sister

"She's already in trouble" Paige told her exasperated

"Help!" We heard Phoebe call.

Paige followed Phoebe, I bit my lip following Paige

I followed Paige as she followed Phoebe down a street. We walked across without stopping. People in cars slammed on their breaks and honk their horns as they watched us cross without a care

"Hey, I'm walking here!" Phoebe screamed at them

"Get out of the street!" A car driver shouted at her, I grimaced

"Don't you have any way of controlling those things?" I asked her, biting my lip

"They didn't exactly come with an instruction manual, Kass" Phoebe sighed while walking onto the sidewalk.

"Argh, god" Paige exclaimed before Phoebe stopped making Paige bump into her and me bump into Paige "They stopped" Paige said in confusion

"Yeah, but why did they stop?" Phoebe asked, also confused

Suddenly, a horse and carriage stopped in front of us

"Well, he's got style, I'll give him that much" Phoebe said eyeing the carriage

"Okay, this is getting too weird, we're getting outta here" Paige said also eyeing the carriage, suspiciously

I nodded in agreement "Can we leave now? I'm getting a bad feeling" I mumbled, wrapping my arms around myself

"Um, excuse me, sir. Did Cole Turner send you?" Phoebe asked ignoring both of us but got no answer "Hello? I asked you a question"

The carriage door magically opened

"Okay, whatever happens you are not getting into that" Paige warned her

Without a warning, Phoebe's legs moved her towards the carriage

"Whoa!" Phoebe exclaimed

"Phoebe, no!" We yelled at her trying to stop her

Phoebe got inside the carriage. Paige tried to follow but a force blocked her and knocked her to the ground

I stopped in my tracks eyeing the carriage with wide eyes

"Looks like he want Cinderella to go to the ball alone just like in the story" Phoebe exclaimed

The carriage started to move making me help Paige up faster

"Hold on!" Paige shouted, "I'll orb you out"

"No. Go back to the manor" Phoebe called to us

"But what about you?" I called out concerned

"Look, I'll call for Leo if I'm in danger, okay?" Phoebe called to us as the carriage let our sight

We sighed, Paige grabbed my arm and then orbed us to the manor

As soon as we arrived at the manor I could sense something wrong. I furrowed my eyebrows looking around the attic

"She's already in danger. We never should have split up. No offence, Mrs. Halliwell" Paige told Penny

"Grams. And none taken" Penny told her with a shrug when something shiny caught my eye on the corner of the attic. I frowned

"Yeah, well, if what we heard is true, then Phoebe could be in a lot more danger than we think" Piper sighed "We all could"

I nodded in agreement, tearing my eyes away from the shiny thing on the corner, struggling to do so

"If somebody's using fairy tales for evil, it could rewrite them, corrupt them for every future generation" Leo told us

"H-How? How can you rewrite them?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows "They're already in print" I pointed out

"Every copy is a manifestation of an original, an original that was entrusted to the Keeper of the fairy tales, long ago for protection" Leo explained. I nodded hearing a thud behind me seeing my book on the floor near the corner.

"The Elders think something has happened to him, that somebody took over the fortress from the inside" Piper informed

"An evil witch I might add" Penny said

I walked to my book and picked it up, feeling confused knowing that I had left it on the couch and not over here "Weird" I mumbled

"Why don't we just orb to this fortress and kick her butt?" Paige offered raising her eyebrows

"Because nobody knows where it is" Leo said "It's location has been kept secret, even from the Elders"

"Where was their infinite wisdom on the day that was decided?" Paige said crossing her arms. My eyes finally revealing what the shiny thing was. It was a needle, it weirdly seemed like the one Aurora pricked her finger on her story. I slowly raised my hand

"The point is we have no way of finding her" Piper told us in frustration

"Piper, I'm surprised at you. I mean, she's a witch isn't she? Just scry for her" Penny told her before I pricked myself with the needle making a drop of blood leave my finger

"Ow!" I hissed in pain, finally realizing what I did

"Kassandra?"

I widened my eyes turning to face the others slowly, revealing behind me a small spinning wheel.

Leo's and Penny's eyes widened in recognition as they looked between me and the spinning wheel

"I think I screwed up" I said before soft pink lights swirled around me changing my jeans and green shirt to a long light purple dress. My eyes dropping before I fell down to the floor under a sleeping curse.
