Chapter 1

"KASS! Table number 3!"

My boss woke up in a bad mood, I swear.

I rolled my eyes sighing looking behind my shoulder and saluted her brushing a dark block of hair behind my ear heading to said table with a small fake sweet smile.

There wasn't a normal reason like my father would say to be annoyed this morning but last night I couldn't sleep. Adrenaline and fear keeps me awake at night if I have to protect myself. I'm lucky sometimes of the weird occurrences saving my life all this last year.

I held back a yawn as I spotted the two occupants of table three and frowned warily seeing something different about them. It was weird how I could tell they were different from the other people in the restaurant that made my skin crawl in their presence. They had this vibe around them that made me pause in my steps, suddenly not wanting to serve them.

One of them, a blonde woman seemed to notice my wariness and she smirked looking at the man in front of her, knowingly.

Both their looks were making me feel nervous and I took a deep breath slowly approaching them, now realizing the unique attire they were wearing. All the black was making a red flag going haywire on my head telling me to just turn around and leave but I wasn't about to be intimidated for two customers, even as how nervous and afraid they made me to be

Calm down, Kass. Nothing bad would happen

Oh boy, I was so wrong

Phoebe reached the living room in a hurry after having the premonition of the girl in danger and stopped seeing her half-sister Paige practicing her white-lighter abilities.

It had been a year and a half since her older sister Prue died and not long after that her and her older sister Piper found out about the existence of another Halliwell sister, again completing the Power Of Three.

Paige was ecstatic when she first found out her powers as a witch could be combined with her white-lighter ones. With good training she got better at controlling them and until now she still practice them

Phoebe bit her lip nodding to herself and looked over the entry of the kitchen, knowing pretty well Piper was finishing up some details for the dinner, which it would have to wait now.

"Piper!" She shouted knowing her sister will drop everything as soon as she hears the urgency on her voice. "Paige" Paige turned around seeing her sister and frowned walking to her

"Hey phoebe, what's up?" Paige asked in concern as soon as Piper made her way out of the kitchen, looking around with her hands up

"Where's the demon?" She demanded looking around for any threat

Phoebe shook her head passing a hand through her short hair and sighed "No, it's not about a demon. Well, it is" Paige and Piper frowned in confusion as Phoebe waved her hands around her, calming down "Thing is, we have an innocent to save. I had a premonition about a girl being attacked by a demon"

"Why? Where?" Piper demanded, knowing that if her sister had a premonition out of nowhere that could lead to serious consequences, but also wanting to help this girl if she was in danger

"I was reading the book of shadows when I suddenly got the premonition of a young scared girl running away from a demon"

Piper nodded slowly, a frown creasing on her forehead "What were you reading?" She asked but before Phoebe had the chance to answer, a purple glimmer showed up in front of them, on the living  room

The sisters startled, took defensive positions seeing a woman appearing from within the source of purple light. Her blonde straight hair pulled up in a ponytail as she breathed heavily. She looked to be in her mid-twenties and was wearing a long blue dress and hanging around her neck was a purple necklace that seemed to glow

Piper, thinking the woman was a threat raised her hands up using her power trying to freeze her, only to be surprised when the woman wasn't even affected in the slightest. The woman's necklace glowed for a second making her blue eyes snap to Piper with a tired smile as she gazed between Piper and her own necklace

"Thanks for that, Sweetheart. I'm seriously gonna need it" The woman told her gratefully as a pair of demons appeared behind her. The blonde smiled turning to them, raising her hands up and somehow managing to use Piper's freezing power on them making the Halliwell sisters' eyes widen in shock

The blonde turned to face Piper, proudly and grateful "Thanks for that. You saved me from having to use my own powers" she said looking at the demons "But I think that if you don't want them attacking more you'll have to vanquish them now. I have no idea how much control you have over your powers that it's gonna hold them off as my powers are kind of weak at the moment. So I suggest you to move fast" she spoke in one breath.

When Piper didn't move, the woman looked up at her waving her hands up warily pointing at the demons

"Come on, darling. Your power won't hold on that much. Though I'm surprised it has due to my own weakness. You must have a great control over them" she noted with a proud smile "Congrats"

Piper looked at her weirdly and exploded the demons with her power, the blonde woman smiled proudly and sat at down on the coach with a sigh

"Finally I can relax for 5 minutes" the blonde woman said tilting her head back in the coach doing so

Piper frowned at the woman crossing her arms in disbelief as Phoebe feeling curious, looked at the woman until her eyes fell upon the necklace hanging around her neck. She widened her eyes in recognition and right there she connected the dots about the woman and the girl from her premonition. Somehow they both were related.

Coincidence wasn't a word they were familiar with in what they did for living

"Wait... I know who you are" Phoebe broke the awkward silence created after the blonde woman sat in their coach, the Blonde woman smiled at her with her eyes closed

"Uh-huh and who am I, Charmed One?" She opened her bright blue eyes and stared at Phoebe with a expectant smile

Piper and Paige exchanged a confused look looking at Phoebe

"You are the Guardian" Phoebe stated slowly, furrowing her eyebrows in awed expression now connecting the dots between the premonition she had of the girl "Which means that the girl from my premonition isn't a coincidence...." she said, looking back at her sisters.

The Guardian straightened up, her expression shifting to a serious one "Wait. What girl? Darlings, there's no such things as coincidence with magic" she said matter-of-factly and turned to face Phoebe, stalking forward and grabbing her hand "Show me your premonition" she demanded.

Phoebe, startled tried to rip her hand away from the woman but she had a strong grip on her hand. The woman's eyes glowing as she stared straightforward, realizing Phoebe couldn't do it herself so she made it upon herself to do so. She blinked, the light fading away and she breathed shakily dropping her hand

"You must save her. If that girl is who I think she is and that demon gets to her, then not only her will be the one dying but every magical creature out there, including your magic" The Guardian said, seriousness and panic in her voice as she paced away passing her hands through her hair.

The Witches exchanged a look

"Excuse me?" Piper asked her incredulously, the Guardian sighed turning to Phoebe

"You know what I am. You read about Guardians. You know what will happen if the next Guardian dies without her protection"

"That's if that girl is who you think" Paige pointed out, crossing her arms.

"That doesn't matter, Paige. That girl is still an innocent" Phoebe told her sister "Guardian or not Guardian" she said giving the blonde a frown. The blonde rolled her eyes

She felt pretty confident about it after having months looking for the next one after she started to feel the weak effects of her little time. Hearing Phoebe having a vision about a girl after having read the section talking about her and she showing up the same day wasn't a coincidence. She needed to find the Guardian sooner or magic would turn chaotic until she stepped up as the keeper.

The woman unclasped her necklace and showed it to the sisters "See this necklace? This is the source of power of a Guardian. When a new one shows up, it's the necklace's duty as its powerful believe it or not to protect her until she can do it for herself. Right now, her powers haven't been awoken totally because I'm still standing but she little by little is starting to feel she's not normal. She can sense things no one else can and she couldn't before. She's vulnerable and a simple human. Anything can kill her at this point" she said seriously, looking between the sisters. "Are you gonna let her be killed?"

Piper frowned not liking the tone the blonde was using, so she just ignored her and looked at her young sister "Where's this girl, Phoebe?"

~8~

Once near them, that gut feeling on the pit of my stomach grew. It was urging me to leave and never look back and that would be the smartest thing to do

But I'm not smart.

So here I was, in front of the couple of table three. My green eyes hiding all the nerves I was feeling with a small smile as my hand, holding my pen shook a bit. I was terrified. It wasn't the first time I felt like this but somehow I knew this was worse than other times.

I bit my bottom lip, shoving a block of hair behind my ear.

"Welcome to Jenny's. My name's Kassandra and I'll be your waitress today. How can I help you both?" I asked politely ignoring the knowing looks they were exchanging.

The woman smirked placing her chin on her open palm, looking at me up and down "You coming with us" she said, her cold eyes meeting my green ones making me freeze in place so I didn't notice the guy standing up and walking around me, covering my only way out.

I was trapped.

I looked behind me at the guys, starting to breath heavily sensing more danger than ever and that's when I realized there was not even a person looking our way. It was like if this was planned.

"We want you" The guy told me softly, his eyes smirking at my panicked expression as he lunged his hand forward clasping it around my wrist. I gasped feeling a weird sensation only to find out my surroundings had changed from the restaurant to a dark empty alley.

I ripped my wrist away from his hand and backed away only to crash with a body behind me. The woman grabbed my arms, restraining me as I started struggling in her grip

The guy smirking raised his hand and if it was magic, a fire ball appeared. I closed my eyes tightly, praying strongly to all be a dream and that I could be safe. I heard groaning and gasping from behind me and the strong grip of the woman loosened. I opened my eyes noticing the guy looking wide eyed behind me, the fire no longer in his hand.

I followed his gaze only to widen my own eyes seeing the woman gagging in a crouched position, her hands and neck were burned with some kind of purple fire and when she looked up, her eyes were glowing a bright purple. My eyes met hers for a second and that's when she screamed, bursting in flames, fading away from existence.

Silence. It was all that it took after her screams faded away and I took that moment to bolt out of running as the guy had been stunned into shocked silence.

I ran as fast as I could.

The only I could see was the dark alley ahead of me. And i couldn't help but think that the guy had a great advantage as he reeked of darkness. I looked behind me every few seconds making sure I had a good distance between us until I tripped into something, falling straight to ground with my knees making me shriek in pain and fear. Seeing as my knees hurt to keep running, i started to crawl backwards, keeping an eye for the guy.

My back collided with something solid and I froze realizing I was cornered seeing a wall behind me. I looked up in fear seeing the guy coming closer with each step, stopping right in front of me.

I feared that this time with that closeness, that weird thing that always saves me weren't going to fail me. I tried to make myself smaller against the wall as he again created that fire ball in his hand, my eyes filling with tears

"You're gonna pay for killing her. I don't know how you did it but you're gonna die" he growled at me, raising his hand and throwing the fire ball at me making me close tightly my eyes, screaming in fear.

And that's when I felt it.

That weird sensation of myself disintegrating in million tiny little purple lights and fading away into another place saving my life. It only used to happen for a few seconds so when I opened my eyes again, there were rest of the little purple lights fading away, but I realized with a frown that I was still in the same place

That was weird because every time that happened, I appear somewhere else. I looked behind me to the wall, seeing a black burned circle where if I hadn't done that, turning myself into that light I would have had my head burned.

I turned back to see the guy, whom expression was a mix of anger and confusion. He huffed to himself creating another fire ball into his hand and this time I knew for sure that little light wouldn't save me twice in a row

I gasped as the fire on his hand faded away abruptly when he was about to attack, his expression shifting to anger to a shocked one as a scream of pain was ripped out of him as he bursted in flames, fading away from existence.

I breathed a sigh of relief trying to stand up slowly, biting a groan as my knees flared up with pain as he was vanquished but soon it became wariness and cautiousness as I noticed four women standing behind where the guy had been before he was vanquished.

One of them, had long brunette hair and she was standing a little bit closer to me, her hands raised up mid air with a serious expression. At her right, stood another brunette with shorter brown hair, her expression was one of concern and curiosity. The third brunette, with wavy shoulder length hair looked at me with a mixed of awe and concern. The three of them had similar resemblances as if they were related

But who seemed to struck me the most was the fourth woman. She was blonde and seemed to have a peaceful vibe coming from her, all the contrary from the couple and the people of the restaurant. The four seemed to have that vibe of peace that made me relax instantly but still being cautious.

I looked between the four, breathing heavily feeling wary of them, trying to keep a good distance between us not trusting on them not attacking. My bottom lip trembled in fear but I tried to not show fear as I blinked away the tears before they could fall. My eyes flickering between the four strangers cautiously

The shorter haired woman took slow steps towards me with a reassuring smile noticing my defensive stance

"It's okay, I won't hurt you sweetie, my name's Phoebe" She held her hand to me slowly.

I eyed her cautiously and hesitant not moving an inch, she noticed with a sigh "We are nothing like him, we don't want to hurt you, Okay?" She said slowly, she looked behind her towards the other brunettes and the blonde and pointed at the middle brunette, the one with the long hair "She's my sister Piper"

Piper gave me a reassuring smile, I blinked at her and Phoebe still not knowing if I should trust them

"And that's my other sister, Paige" Phoebe told me pointing at the third brunette who flashed me a bright smile and a wave making me chuckle under my breath smiling a small smile back at her as I couldn't ignore her optimistic energy coming from her in waves.

My gaze slowly went towards the blonde woman making Phoebe smile.

"And that's Sally"

The blonde gave me a curious look, her blue eyes glimmerings slightly in purple giving me a positive feeling from her and the sisters and this time making me believe Phoebe's words this time "We don't want to hurt you, Okay?"

I nodded slowly and took a hold of her hand, my green eyes never leaving Sally's blue ones.

Phoebe led me towards her sisters, slowly thanks to my knees were hurting, Sally looked down at me searching in my face for something, I looked at her curiously frowning as there was something within her that made me want to know more about her

Her expression turned into one of frustration after seeming not to find whatever she was looking for and sighed looking up shaking her head

"It's not her" she looked away angry and in defeat, "She's just a White-lighter" she put her hands in her hair as she paced away from me and the sisters

I looked down tilting my head frowning. I suddenly felt a strong wave nearing me before there was a hand in my shoulder looking up at Paige's smiling face and it took me a few seconds before something weird happen and some kind of white and blue glow surrounded her. It was the first time I could see something like that and I found myself frowning before looking at Piper and Phoebe only to a bright white glow started to surround the

"Why are you different from them?" I blurted out at Paige without thinking, she raised her eyebrows in surprise, Sally looked up startled and looked back at me

"What do you mean?" Paige asked confused, I looked between the sisters

"You're sisters, right?" I asked, they nodded still confused and I frowned again

"Shouldn't you.... I mean have the same glow around you if you're related?" I questioned slowly in confusion. Sally looked up surprised stalking forward towards me and grabbing my hands with my own

"What do you mean by different glows, honey?" Phoebe asked me softly.

"What do you mean by glow?" Sally questioned me, looking at my eyes intently, which made me uncomfortable "Is it like a light around them with a unique color?"

I nodded slowly shocked that Sally could tell what I was seeing

"Yes. It's like a glow around them" I answered Sally making her drop my hands quickly backing away from me in shock and awe "Yours and Piper's actually have a bright white glow around you both" I smiled softly, making them smile "But Paige is different. She has a soft blue glow. It's beautiful" I said before shaking my head looking down in embarrassment "I'm sorry. I sounded like a freak"

"It's impossible" Sally breathed in shock looking down, we looked at her questionably "You are a White-lighter" she frowned in confusion and looked back at me again "You can't be both" she whispered and stared at me for a few seconds making me feel uncomfortable by the intensity of her gaze.

She suddenly stalked forward to me taking her pretty necklace off and forcibly grabbed my hand, I yelped in surprise at the sudden movement but she just ignored it placing the necklace in my hand

Somehow I felt better with it in my hand, I relaxed seeing how it glowed for a second, Sally took a deep breath

"You are the New Guardian" she stated in shock as she took the necklace from my hand, I looked at her weirdly, not understating what she was saying.

Paige took a step forward, in confusion "But she's a White-lighter, she orbed we all saw it, right?"

"Well, she's not" Sally told her sounding confused herself, I looked between them weirdly, still not understanding

"But..." Paige started confused but Sally cut her off looking at me in awe

"She's both"
