It was a tremendous stormy night, everyone was running. The little girl was running along pulled by both her parents who were gasping and sweating a lot, but kept running madly. They soon hid the little 6 year old crying girl in the car and locked it. They couldn't even get time to see her face for the last time or give her a kiss or say her goodbye. But all that the girl could see was that something huge got on them, and next there was blood splashed on the windows. That thing had horrible scary eyes, it stared at the little girl after tearing apart her parents. But she began to cry and called her parents. But maybe that beast felt pity for her and let her live.

It was just the part where her dream always ended. She slowly opened her eyes but now she was used to this dream since that incident. It was 8 years back. But she didn't think about it anymore and slowly sat up on the bed,well it couldn't be called a bed:the torn mattress laying on the ground, along with all the other mattresses of the orphanage.

"Azka hurry up you are again the last one to get up, we have a lot of works to do" . This voice was from downstairs. It was their mistress. She tied her hair in a pony tail and ran down with a smile hoping to start a good day. All the other girls were already on the short break fast table. So, she hurriedly washed her hands, face and mouth from the leaking tap of the kitchen and sat on the floor along with other 11 girls. Mistress started to fill their small bowls with a very thin watered stew with a smile and saying as per routine "try to have a good day beauties". Everyone was tired of this so called routine and stew. Azka hardly drank half of it, and gave the rest of it to a 7 years old girl Sara who only got a little stew for her mischievous behaviour even after 3 warnings.

She then went outside with a basket having a torn book inside it,"could I get another? "she asked, as soon as she entered an old library just a few steps ahead of the orphanage." of course my dear" came a heavy sound from behind the book shelves, "but I must admit that you are a very fast reader. " Mr grizzly wearing huge glasses came out with a book and put it in her basket. "Thank you so much Mr grizzly, you are very kind. " She was about to set off when he stopped her by saying that, "Be careful Azka! I just saw wolf warriors out there". She left with a OK.

She just stepped out when she did see two wolves putting something on the bakery wall. Everyone was inside their houses and those who were outdoors had already ran in within a second,but she, she was a brave soul, she stood and watched the huge gigantic wolves (for her size) leave that place while staring her widely. She ran near the poster that they had put on. It was another WANTED poster of an old man. Again a human? She thought in her head. All the people and animals started coming out to see the poster.

She quickly left the place which was getting densely crowded. She entered the orphanage, all the girls were getting ready to start off their work. They sold buns on the streets of the country for living because since the enforcement and the horrible incident of the wolves coming to power, humans were mistreated, strong one's and the ones who dared to talk against them were killed. So no one helped the orphans of the orphanages (who were after the incident mostly humans) except the citizens who helped them by buying buns.

It was her turn to go and sell the buns to the city farthest away. She got there by mid day and started selling buns and read the book along too. She didn't eat much so she was feeling a little dizzy and cold in the snowy weather. The place where she was selling buns was near a stream polluted by the sheep and goats blood feasted by the wolves kingdom. She suddenly noticed a man nearby with a long cloak coving his face. At first, he was sitting across watching her. He after a little while came near her and bought two buns but she still couldn't see his face. He then put one bun in his cloak and gave the other to the girl to eat. She was surprised, that he looked so miserable but still he bought buns and gave one to me too. She thanked him a lot. But he remained silent.

After half an hour he ate his bun and was about to set off when he heard the howls and he jumped in the stream holding his breath. But no one noticed him in the panic except her. The wolves were riding on the truck and were making an announcement that whosoever will help them find that wanted old man will be handsomely rewarded, but who ever will help him, hide him, or tell about him if they knew will be killed along with all the people and animals they know. When the terror and howls were deminished, the old man came out of the water, but Azka being attentive to him peeked into his cloak and easily identified him as that wanted old man. Just for a second in her head she thought of helping him by helping him hide or something but then flashed the consequences in her mind. She decides to help him simply by not telling anyone else.

After some time wind started to blow. Azka's long scarf and frock flew along. She tried to settle them but one of her buns fell down. She leant down to pick it up but a fox passing by made use of it and took her little bag from her pocket hardly having some pennies. She reflexely tried to get him but she couldn't. But that old man watching this scene also quickly responded by holding its tail but the man being old lost his control and fell down. When the fox turned back to laugh at him, the fox saw the old man's face when his hood moved back.

Azka seeing the look on the fox's face and the direction it went to, quickly ran to the man, helped him get up, pulled the hood on his face again and told him to follow her. He willingly with worry went along with her. She was fastly moving through the dense crowds to get to the other side of the stream by bridge. But unfortunately and definitely unluckily the wolves had got them in their sight. But Azka kept moving through the fields followed by the wild and fast creatures.

She then moved a wooden plank from the ground which was hiding a hole. They then went down into the sewer. She could clearly hear threats coming from the wolves that they soon know who she is and will finish everyone she knows, but she wasn't paying any attention to the matter. They were running on the sideways of the dirty water flowing. The wolves were just about to get them when she instantly spotted a raft and jumped on it. The pressure of the water floated them away. A wolf on getting pretty angry threw a bone arrow at the man, they weren't expecting it,the man got hit on the back.

The girl covered her mouth in surprise and her eyes started to drop tears. Another arrow flew in the direction of the girl but the man stretched out his arm, made a fist and opened it with might, the ring on his hand started to glow and a shield was formed which stopped that arrow and the ones which were randomly thrown one after the other. They were now getting out of the reach of the wolves and their arrows.

The old man was gasping with teary eyes and had pain in his voice. Azka held him in her arms telling him that he will be okay with her whole face covered in tears. Although she was courageous but she just couldn't watch him die. He then said to her in a shivering voice. "My child! I trust you, you are my last hope. Here, take this little stone from my ring and swallow it as soon as you get to a safer place. "

On the other hand, one wolf had scented them and was following the path that led to them. As they were approaching, the leader wolf smiled evily and this smile was constantly growing. On the boat the talk continued" don't worry I will come meet you and explain you but you have to trust me and do as I say". On the sewers path ran the wolves following the scent when one of the wolves asked their leader the reason of his smile.He replied that "it soon ends, this water soon ends in the form of an enormous water fall into the deadly sea, there is no chance for them to survive". The deadly sea was not called deadly just because of the sharks but also because of its rocky surfaces,whosoever fell in there died by falling on the rocks, getting hit or either ended up in a sharks stomach.

On the boat Azka held the arrow with might closed her eyes and pulled it out with a painful sind of the man. She then tied her scarf around, then put pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding. Then she heard something behind her, from where that sound was coming and Oh my God it was a dead end into the sea. The boat started to move with more pressure and speed. The old man had also become aware of it. Azka said," sir, we need to get off this boat right now. " The old man replied that "even if we both jump the wolves will just get here and kill both of us, so only you should go". But the girl shook her head in unwillingness, she started looking around to look for the place where they will take the leap when the man put the gem on her hand, loosen the scarf around, pushed the girl on the path after throwing his Cape on her saying her to hide under it. Azka fell on the path, quickly stood to get the man but it was too late as she saw the man going down with a tearful sorry.

She yelled "NO", screamed and started to cry, but then she heard the footsteps so she quickly hid under the Cape and forcefully made herself quiet by covering her mouth with both her palms. They came running passed right in front of her, and glanced down the sea, old man's dead body was floating on the surface and beside him was Azka's scarf with some blood, then a shark came and ate the man's body. One of the wolves asked their leader"what if the girl didn't fell along with him in the sea? "Their leader stared back saying that"there is the girls scarf, I think she's been eaten and even if she wasn't...... " He paused, turned to his right sensing something, he was standing right in front of the girl under the invisible cloak just an inch away(who had now even stopped her breath). But the wolf then turned back and continued" she would have been here and she isn't.

Now go to the orphanage you told me about earlier that a girl died today committing a crime and betrayal. So if she doesn't return to them it means that she was from that orphanage and if that is so, then tommorow morning, go and kill them all". The wolf left with a yes sir! Azka's eyes opened wide in surprise and terror. She wanted to jump on that wolf and kill him but of course she can't. When the wolves the place celebrating their success with a very lot of howls.

Azka layed down on her knees crying her eyes out,but then gathered her courage, fixed herself and got on the route back home. A wolf came running to the King and said "Your majesty! We had found that guardian but he managed to get help from an orphan girl but they both are dead now , they fell into the deadly sea". The king partially turned back with a groan "Did you see both of their dead bodies? ". "yes your majesty! We saw the man's dead body but not the girl's, but we did see her scarf, we thought that she was eaten,because we didn't find her and...." "you just thought? Fools! Now go get me the man's ring from the sharks belly and if that girl returned to the orphanage go get the girl ... I need that girl alive tommorow... Am I clear?" "ye.... Ye... Yes sir. "

Azka was trying to get home fast and was avoiding the wolves on her way back. She entered the wrecked orphanage. She was a little late , the wolves surely came and wrecked down their home. She saw her mistress in the kitchen crying and sobbing,when her sight fell upon Azka wandering around the junk.' Oh! Thank God! You are alive my dear, we thought you died because the wolves came threatening us, and told us that you are one of the criminals? 'Azka looked in her eyes, thinking if it is right to tell her or not, took a long pause and replied without hesitation,"no it was not me, it was another girl of my age, I saw the incident there though, it was terrible " her mistress sighed with a great relief, "but where is your scarf dear,? it was your gift last year, I surely remember you wearing when you left". She replied "I lost it, in all that panic ". This all was enough to satisfy her.

Azka then went upstairs and was reliefed to see the upper portion OK. Everyone was sitting in a circle worried and making up stories that what could have happened. They rushed to Azka, hugged her, thanked for her being safe, and asked a lot of questions, which she answered just as before to her mistress. Everyone was now calm and happy,but there was a huge storm inside Azka on the dinner table. Then when everyone slept she went to the bathroom and locked it slowly so that no one would notice her. She had the gem with her. It was a very small gem.

She walked here to there again and again thinking if it was right to do what the man said. She took a sigh on deciding to do it. She put the gem in her mouth and drank water from the glass, she had bring with her. She stood in front of the mirror, she stared at her reflection, she felt no change. Then suddenly she felt the strain on her heart which was followed by severe stomach pain, and then the extention of the strain on the brain through nerves. She was feeling dizzy, so she got out and just reached her mattress when she fell on it unconscious, she again started having that dream, everything happened exactly the same, but this time she could see that monster a little clearly, it... It.. Looked like a wolf, but thrice bigger, fierce, scary And strong!.

She woke up with gasps, when her friend sleeping next to her, woke up and brought her water, "what happened?". She asked.,looking concerned and worried, "you had that dream? Right? But isn't it normal now?" she looked into Azka's eyes asking for answers." Aliya! Today I saw its face, it was a wolf like I thought, I had a doubt before because it was way too big and strong for a wolf, but today I saw it clearly, and I am sure, it WAS a wolf. Aliya thought for sometime... And then ran to get a book with a shocked face. Azka watched her getting the book about space. Aliya loved to learn everything about space, planets, moon, sun, anyplace but earth. Aliya opened a page, and started talking,"the day the wolves invasion took place, it was a historic day indeed, but on that day a great solar eclipse took place.... "she then pointed at the sentence saying exactly the same. Then continued," wolves are known to get their powers from the moon... So the wolves can get as big and strong they were in your dream and the day they invaded". "This all makes sense now",Azka replied.

They both heard the lights turning on..... And their mistress coming up strairs, but they both were quick enough to lay down as they were sleeping, mistress came took a satisfying look and went back. Azka then opened her eyes a little and whispered "she's gone but we will talk about it in the morning ". Then they both went to sleep. The morning started as usual, but Azka had a headache, but she didn't show it, Azka and aliya went together to a place to sell buns.

On their way Azka said, "I have something to tell you, but not here.... Some where safe OK? ". Aliya nodded. The wolves on the order of their leadee had caught the shark to cut it and find the ring.... They had been looking for it since a long time and at last found the ring.... But.. There was no stone in it." now what are we going to tell him , we told him that the girl died". " But sir! I saw the girl we suspected come back.". "Did she have a scarf?"" no... Sir". Then maybe she is that girl and she has the stone,... Anyway we will find it out today... ".  he said with a wicked smile. Azka and aliya both had now arrived to a place in the street near the fields, Azka took a deep breath and told her to listen quietly everything that she is going to say. Aliya was getting a little angry and worried as Azka told everything that had happened the previous day. Azka then finished and looked at Aliya for response., Aliya took a deep breath and replied her with anger and concern "Do u have any idea about the danger you put everyone into? ".... Azka was about to say something when she held her stomach and mouth as though she was going to throw up.... But instead of vomit... A thick white smoke came out and started getting into the figure of that old man... Aliya's mouth opened up while she was holding Azka to give her support. It had now stopped and the figure was clear now..." You "? Azka immediately spoke up as the sad memory of his death flashed in her mind "but you.... You died... I sa... Saw you you fell an....and the wolves said you were eaten by a shark ".

The Oldman who looked in a better condition than yesterday replied with a smile., "yes! But the Past is past. And I told you that I will meet you once you swallowed the gem.. Didn't I? " Azka nodded and aliya was taking her stares from the smoky man to Azka and then Azka to the smoky man. The man continued "and I am here like I said... I made you the next guardian before I died ... The only guardian left now " "what? " it was only what Azka could come up with.... "Yes you may not know of the guardians being in this generation but they existed a lot before the invasion, the wolves had them all in sight and therefore killed them all... But we had protected its source : a few gems left... But we all were too old to permanently consume the power... And were reached by the wolves... I got away.. While my friends... They were all killed.. But I luckily had one stone with me and I was looking for some one to inherit its power now and I found you... I chose you... You will be now granted with the powers of the gem... For the sake of justice and u will protect everyone and will bring down the wolves kingdom. ". Aliya said with a rejecting smile to attentive Azka" OK! I think that's enough for today... Come on Azka! I think we should be going".

Azka was pulled along by aliya just a few steps when she felt pain and fell down on her knees and started gasping... The man standing behind now yelled along as the lumps of smoke were re entering in Azka "strength "..... "flight"..... "invisibility " and remember one power will be of your choice... But I advise you to not choose it yet.".. And then he disappeared into the thin air. Aliya's eyes were so open that it felt like they were about to pop out. Azka was getting better and aliya held her back on her feet. "Did that really happen? " Aliya asked... Azka said back while looking at her..." Of course it did.... But I am not so sure about the powers".... Azka was now back into her state... Aliya suddenly yelled" Azka! For God's sake! Where have you gone ? ".

For a second Azka thought that aliya had gone mad or something... But figured out what happened. So Azka replied"i am right next to you aliya... I think I,.... I just disappeared.... The powers ARE true". Aliya moves her hand to the place from where the sound was coming from, touched azka's shoulder and reached for her hand. Azka thought about getting visible again and she became visible. "Aliya you were about to pop into my eye., you know?" Aliya said sorry....and became excited "why don't you try flying now?" Azka nodded, closed her eyes thought about flying , let herself to be light for the air to lift her. Aliya screamed " Oh my God!" due to which Azka was about to fall from the air to the ground when she immediately balanced herself and started floating again. Azka gave a angry look to Aliya when Aliya again said sorry.

Azka started flying here and there, having fun trying not to get too high to be in sight of others. She was happy for the first time since her parents death. But suddenly her eyes fell on a passing by elephant. She immediately fled back to the ground towards Aliya, told her about the elephant coming this way and then disappeared. The elephant at last reached the place with gasps "wh.... Where is that girl in pink who was flying up there?" " I don't know sir I was just taking a walk". The elephant turned back with his hand behind his neck "then that must be my imagination ". He left the place, Aliya held hard her laugh to make sure he was gone far away, then Azka became visible again and they both started laughing out loud. When they stopped laughing, Aliya said "OK now let's check out strength".... Azka looked around for something very heavy. She saw an old tractor beside the field long ago replaced by a new one. They both walked till there. Aliya asked " r u sure you want to start with THIS??" pointing at the tractor. "Well I am " she put her hand under the tractor, took a breath and tried to lift it... The tractor started lifting up right in front of them....

And she didn't even put a lot of energy. "Wow "Aliya responded and the continued"now I wish that I would have been the one facing your yesterday but I would tell truth... I would have never taken up the risk..ok..so? What now? Do you just walk into castle slamming all the wolves? ". "No I don't think so...I think we should take about it after getting back... Ok? " Azka said it with the notice of some animals now getting to the area where they were. Aliya nodded and replied an OK. The wolf's king had just been told about the stone when he got fierce turned back and shouted..."I knew you were just useless and careless but I can spare you if you get me that girl here by night and if not then you know the circumstances "...

The wolf's leader left the place with a shivering yes. Azka and Aliya again started selling buns and then set on the way back home at about four o clock talking about today's excitements. They both were near the orphanage when they saw a glorious fire rising from the place where their orphanage stood. They both ran there... The area was empty.. Everyone had ran away in fear. They reached in front of the orphanage. There stood a whole army of wolves holding all the girls with their claws out in their necks... And then she saw her mistress who was crying and was held by the same leader wolf, who was looking at her to let her know that she has no chance against them while passing an evil smile. They had indeed prepared a horrible welcome for her. What will she do now?!?
