That was what the blonde was feeling at the moment.

She was sitting at her corresponding table, right next to Aurora and Octavia Blake.

At the next table was Chancellor Jaha along with all the guards who had been at that masked ball where Octavia had been discovered.

The entire Ark watched the trial from the small screens located in the corridors, since, being one of the biggest cases, the chancellor thought it was a good idea to broadcast it for everyone.

The judge began the trial and Thalia's nerves were growing considerably with every second.

Thelonious sat down to testify, being cross-examined by Shumway, who asked him questions related to the laws of the Ark, implying that Mrs. Blake was a criminal.

Until his turn came.

Lía stood up under the watchful eyes of everyone and walked over to where the chancellor was sitting.

She cleared her throat before she began to speak "Well, before we begin, I have a question to ask you, Chancellor Jaha, and I expect you to answer it with the utmost honesty." Thelonious nodded "Do you believe that abortion is murder?"

"I... Uh, well, I think that, even if the fetus isn't formed or doesn't feel pain, I think you're taking the life of a future baby, so, yes, I think it is murder." He hesitated a little as he answered.

"All right. According to the defendant's testimony, Octavia Blake's pregnancy was unplanned and, instead of being happy, she was distressed, since she already had a child, Bellamy Blake, and, as the Ark rules say, you can only have one child, which left you only two options, either to abort or to have her, and, as you said before, for you abortion is murder, which is punishable by death according to the Ark laws, isn't that right?" the chancellor nodded "Which means that, if she had had an abortion, she would have been floated anyway, since she would have murdered someone, so she decided to have a poor innocent girl who was not to blame for anything, unlike you, chancellor, who prefers to float alleged criminals instead of sparing their lives, no matter if they are your friends or people with family, am I wrong?" Thalia turned around with a proud smile and sat back in her seat, seeing how the whole room had fallen silent before her recent words, making her feel even more proud of herself.

Bellamy watched her spellbound, he had not only been captivated by her looks, but by her way of expressing herself and her boldness.

"Well, first thing tomorrow morning we will know what the final decision is, in the meantime, Mrs. Aurora Blake and Miss Octavia Blake will sleep in one of the cells. You are dismissed." ordered the judge.

The blonde gathered her things and left the room. The only thing she wanted to do now was to go to visit her brother and sleep all day. She heard someone shout her name, so she turned to see the entire Blake family approaching her.

"Thank you so much for helping me, Miss Murphy." said a shy Octavia, who had a small blush on her cheeks.

"Call me Lia, please"

"It's time to go." said one of the guards behind them.

The black-haired man said goodbye to his sister and mother and then watched them being taken away. He turned to see the blonde looking at him with a small smile.

"Would you like a drink? I need to get drunk..."

In the end John would have to wait....

They didn't know how many drinks they had had so far, but it wasn't enough to be completely drunk. They were both laughing without quite knowing what about, just enjoying each other's company.

"Hey, I wanted to thank you for what you've done for my sister?" Bellamy said, slurring his words a bit.

"You don't have to, besides, I've grown fond of your sister." she laughed.

Bellamy looked at her puzzled without knowing very well why she was reacting, until he saw how she covered herself and avoided his gaze at all costs....

"You're welcome, but there's no need to thank me, I'm glad I could help even if it was just a little." she smiled.

At that moment the judge entered the courtroom and the air became more tense in a matter of seconds. Unconsciously, Octavia grabbed the blonde's hand, feeling as if her heart was beating out of her chest. At first, Thalia was taken aback by the gesture, but it didn't take long for her to give it a little squeeze in support.

"Well, the jury and I have been deliberating all night and have come to the conclusion that, however much counsel Murphy may be right in part of her defense, the defendant has committed a crime, and that is inexcusable, and therefore she is sentenced to death, and Miss Blake is sentenced to imprisonment until her majority, but she will not be floated, for as Miss Murphy said, she is not to blame for being born. You are dismissed."

Lia stood up from her seat as she watched the two teenagers tearfully embrace their mother. The girl felt bad about herself, she would have liked to have gotten something better for the Blake family, but at least she had managed to keep them from floating Octavia.

The guards grabbed Aurora and the three of them followed them to the place where she would be floated. The two brothers said goodbye to their mother before she turned to look at the blonde.

"Take care of my children for me, please..."

Thalia smiled sadly at her "I will, don't worry about it."

"Thank you so much for everything, Lia, you are a true angel." she turned to look at her children "I love you."

And before they could respond, a guard had hit the lever to open the door, sending Mrs. Blake flying out of there.

Octavia walked over to the blonde and hugged her tightly as she cried, being reciprocated with the blonde, who felt Bellamy join in the embrace.

They had known each other for less than a week, but the three of them had forged a bond.

One that would be very hard to break.

first of all, i would like to clarify that both bellamy and thalia are of legal age, i say this because there are people who don't feel comfortable knowing that they are younger or that one is older than the other
