Cursed vampire.
Spell for the day :
Havity No Gravity
** Kylian's POV **
The tension in the room was palpable. I could cut it with a knife. I wonder who was this other person in town. If it is who I think it is, we are doomed.
I look up to see these sisters lost in their own thoughts.
"But why Oakdale?" Lili asks, her tone laced with curiosity.
"Something happened here a long time back. Something that changed my life." I answer, going back to the time when I was a little boy.
I remember those times as a kid, when I'd come home after playing all day long to see my parents waiting for me. My dad would scold me for staying out late, but then he'd always tell me stories before going to bed. I remember those times when life was full of unicorns and rainbows.
"What happened here?" she asks curiously.
"Let me tell you a little story, why don't you make yourself comfortable." I answer looking in her eyes. It's high time know this.
Lili walks to the other end to get herself a chair while her sister - Ingrid, I suppose, sits on the nearby stool.
"Let me get that for you." I say zooming past Ingrid and reach the chair even before Lilia could take a step.
"Umm. Thank you." Lili says, turning red like a tomato. She looks so cute blushing.
"Showoff." Ingrid mutter under her breath but loud enough for me to catch on.
"You are just jealous." I say standing next to her.
"So what happened here?" Lili asks, sitting on the chair with her legs crossed and arms casually placed on her knees . Her eyes shone of excitement. Looks like she loves stories.
I smile at her antics; she is so innocent.
"Well my dear, I was turned into a vampire at this very town." I say, my eyes solely trained on her. But my thoughts lost elsewhere in time.
I see her mouth agape; she was already wondering how it had happenned. I could see it in her eyes.
"How?"
"What happen here?" They both ask simultaneously.
Maybe I sound nostalgic, but given a choice, I'd rather not share this story with anyone. It's my darkest secret and truthfully, that was my weakest moment. I need these two on my side, to believe in me for whatever is to come. I have to tell them the truth, maybe then they'd be on my side.
I start the story in a monotone, not excited about it.
"Well, about a hundred years back, when I was a human, I led a happy life with my parents. We had everything we could ask for. My father was the town head back then, and life as I knew it was wonderful. Being the only kid they pampered me a lot and since I was the kid of the town head everyone in town loved me."
I adjust my position and I see Lili lost in her thoughts. I could already see questions looming in her head.
I look at her and her eyes speak a thousand words to me. It somehow feels like we are having a silent conversation. I was sucked into an abyss and was lost in a trance, which was her eyes.
"Ahem ahem." I hear someone clear their throat to get our attention. Lilia immediately turns around, looking at whoever it was, embarrassed.
I turn around to see it was Ingrid. I throw her a lazy glare, asking her 'why?' did she interrupt us.
"So what happened next?" She questions to break the silence.
" Do you believe in magic?" I ask Ingrid, knowing well that she is a witch.
" Um — um. I don't know." she says stuttering.
Oh god! Does she really think I do not know that she is a witch?
"I know you are a witch." I say, looking directly in her eyes. I see fear in them, and she has a thousand questions looming in her head.
"Well, it was one such witch who turned me into what I am." I say to break the silence.
"Why would someone do such a thing?" Lilia asks with disgust lacing her voice.
"Can a witch really do that?" Ingrid asks, definitely curious now.
I laugh at her question, already figuring what she was guessing.
"Well, only a powerful witch can do that, you'd need more training for that. Also, it's not something I'd recommend you to do. It's deadly, like literally." I say, shuddering at the thought of what happened on that fateful night.
I remember that night as if was just yesterday. I was going home to visit my parents after my Army training. I could feel the way it was pouring outside, those harsh drops of rains hitting my carriage and how bumpy the ride back home was. I could smell the heavenly aroma of the freshly soaked earth hitting my nose and how intoxicating it smelt mixed with the smell of the daffodils. I remember coming home to see that our porch was a mess, along with the garden, which seemed to be strewn.
"There were witch's back then ?"
I remember how that witch looked standing in the middle of our house after she caused that rift between my parents. Her eyes looked magical, and her hands were up to something. She looked very young, to be honest, but her eyes showed her age. She looked so beautiful anyone could easily be trapped with just one look. She was, after all, a witch. She could put anyone under her spell.
"Yes, in fact, more than you'd ever imagine," I say remembering all the accusations she threw on my family and how heartbroken she left my mom all those years. I was lost in my thoughts of those sad nights when we hardly had a meal to eat and all those times my mom had to bear my dad's abuse.
Anger courses through my body at just a single thought about those days and I do my best to control it, which results in a clenched jaw.
"So why did this witch do this to you?" Lilia asks softly as if she didn't want to hurt me.
I remember her words as if they were told yesterday. It was etched in my brain. 'You will have to face what my child has to face because of you, for the rest of eternity. You will stay alone and there will be no one whom you can call yours. No father to read you stories, no mother to take care of you. No one to call yours. You will die alone.'
"She was a psycho. She cursed me for her mistakes, because she couldn't get the life she wanted for her kid."
"What sort of crazy hag is she?" Ingrid curses.
"What didn't the kid get?" Lilia asks trying to get a hold of what happened.
"A father. The kid didn't have a father. So she lured mine and when my dad broke free from her spell. She cursed me and my family."
" What happened to your family and that witch?" Lilia asks, already sounding afraid of what I'd tell.
"My parents died in the most bizarre accidents. I believe it was that wench's doing. She broke us apart and cursed me, telling I'd have to face what her son has to go through for the rest of eternity. This all happened a few hundred years back in Oakdale. And boom, here I am, a cursed vampire."
"So why did you tell this to us," Ingrid asks suspiciously.
How do I tell them that their life is in danger?!
I sure was hesitant to answer this question.
"So why did you tell us this?" Lilia asks again, hesitantly.
"Umm. Let's just say, you'd need to trust me for the things to come." I say.
"What things will come?" Ingrid asks. I expected Lili to ask this.
I watch Lilia unconsciously. Something about her makes me want to keep her close. Like she was my prized possession. A yawn escapes her mouth.
"Why don't you guys go sleep. Let's talk about this tomorrow." I say, hoping they forget this question.
"But--- "
"Lili, go sleep. You look tired. After all that chasing and following you did, you'd need rest." I say hinting at whom I saw in the forest.
"Wait, you knew it was me?" She asks, surprised.
"Well, I wasn't sure if it was you or your sister. But you just confirmed it." I wink at her playfully and I see a small smile form on her face and her face turns a light shade of red. She looked so cute, I could stare at her for all eternity.
"Fine, but we have a lot to discuss tomorrow. Same place at eleven." Ingrid states and walks away. Lili follows her, after dropping me a quick good night .
