You knew Bruce had made enemies in and out of Gotham, so many in the ten years he needed to train himself. He tried keeping you out of the loop when he noticed the signs that someone followed him to Gotham, and he went off on his own to deal with it.. Only after that night no one heard from him, no one spotted the Dark Knight or faced the Bat's wrath.  Instead Barbara Lee found her hero's tattered mask placed on a tree back taken from Ivy's Garden. Dried blood was inside of it, and others were trying to claim credit for it only to be silenced by you. You spent hours just staring at it, only for  one night  the mask to be taken.. To keep the tech out of reach from others, as a 

sick little trophy or Bruce finally taking it back after healing.. You had to know.
