Hello everyone! I've wanted to write this backstory for Gothel since I saw a TikTok posted by flower_shyshy (go check them out on TT if you have the time, they have great Barbie edits) playing with the idea that Gothel is actually Odile from "Barbie of Swan Lake." I fell in love with this backstory, so that is what I have (hopefully) achieved in this one-shot, with a twist on the original movie ending.

For context before reading: Gothel will be referred to as both "Gothel" and "Odile."

-King Wilheim will also be referred to as "Wilheim" and "Daniel", as I have imagined him to be Daniel from Swan Lake.

-King Wilheims kingdom is the same kingdom Prince Daniel lives and rules over in Swan Lake.

-Rothbart, Odile's father, is dead.
