Ch. 4 | Master Ezekiel

South-West of Northern ground.

A slave Palace

~~|||~~

"Master Ezekiel."

The beast growled, he had been interrupted in middle of his eating.

It was a burden sometimes to own servants. His glowing yellow hunter eyes burned to the lizard who had entered his personal hall, almost tail between it's legs. It was the worst time possible to interrupt, even though he himself had informed that if any information of the slave comes, he should be informed immediately.

But in middle of his meal was really scary.

Master Ezekiel stood on his hind legs, blood dripping from the corners of his mouth as he awaited impatiently. His dead deer corpse which laid there on the ground was almost eaten anyway.

"What is it?" The tiger growled lowly, his paws closing to fists and opening again once in a while. He watched his servant panick with a letter in his palms, as he opened it up.

"It's one of the village's slave Masters'-- who owns the weapons shop. He claims that he has seen the slave who ran away two days ago. Here's said that a person who gives the image of a Demon offered to buy her a bow and arrows, then they both walked away to the nearest motel." The servant said, quietly but hearably.

The Tiger grinned a bit, the day didn't sound so bad after all. "Call Damon here, and collect a small group, I shall be the one who drags that little girl back to this palace and kill her with my own two hands." He growled mercilessly through gritted teeth, no human had ever caused him such trouble than her.

"Yes, Master." The lizard bowed and left the room, running down the hallway.

Master Ezekiel walked up to a window watching the sun rise behind the horison, it was a new day again. It was a day of surprises, and today he would've make sure that none of his slaves would be able to leave the palace, not alive that is.

"That little cunt... I will get you."

~~|||~~

Please, just let me tell you--

I haven't smelled anything so heavenly moments after waking up.

The scent of food just got me all awake.

My eyes were open, only to be greeted by a yellow wall. Oh, I still remembered pretty much everything. Except if I was drugged. Or drugged and used. That would be fun-- what if I was put under a spell too?

I was still in the bed, check.

Alive too, check.

I rolled over to have a view of the room. Still in the same motel room, check.

My eyes caught the moving figure on the couch, I had to sit up to see better. Morning eyes are not the best, the sun shined brightly from the window also which interrupted me. But as I recognized the moving Demon there I did momentarily stop thinking, I just stared as he clicked on his armour and swords, then finally his helmet.

Then he stood up his back all on me. I had the urge to ask what he was doing, and I eventually did. It looked kinda like he was leaving.

"Where are you going?"

My question was taken little by surprise as he glanced back at me, after a moment turning to face me. His face told that he believed he woke me up. I didn't even want to know how I looked like. But I had the best sleep ever in my entire life I ain't complaining of that.

His intense staring was bothering though.

"-- Did I wake you up?" But it seemed that he was same as yesterday night, caring and unbelievably kind. He walked over to a table to pick up a plate where was some meat sticks cooked, as he approached me like offering it as a forgiving present. Oh, I guess he was just getting ready to leave.

"No, not at all." I yawned out loud and settled more better to sit, as he offered me the plate. I stared at the food, then looked back up at him my eyes gloomy. "What- what's that?"

I pointed the suspicious looking flesh, he giving me a quiet hmph as he kneeled down by the bed, refusing to go away before I'd take the plate.  "It's normal pork," He took one stick from the plate and handed it over, this time almost sticking it to my face as I was forced to take it. I looked at him my eyebrows all raised, then back at the meat. Somehow I wasn't convinced. "I know you are hungry, I promise it is safe to eat."

I kept a long pause only to search a lie below his helmet, proving that those big yellow eyes gloomed very confidently and encouragingly. I couldn't see any kind of shuttering or flinching from him, he seemed to be the man of his words...

I eat my own brain if I'm wrong.

I sighed, looked the meat stick in my hand hesitantly, until I took enough big bite to satisfy the big guy beside me. I chewed, and chewed, to the moment I swallowed.

It would seem I didn't have to eat my brain after all.

It's-- really good.

My eyes grew little wide as I swallowed down the last pieces, already taking another bite of the meat. Gosh I was hungry. Gosh it was so good. I turned little greedy as I finally accepted the plate from the Demon, starting to eat with both of my hands stuffing the food into my mouth.

"Easy there." He chuckled, a small smile tugging to the corner of his lip. I couldn't help but reply a small one back, then get back to eating. Now I don't even want to figure what I looked like. Suddenly the Demon beside me found his way to where my feet laid, he moving the cover enough aside to show me a now badged up leg. I almost choked to my food by the sight of it-- I hadn't noticed, or felt anything. "Earlier I badged your ankle up since it looked quite painful to walk, I hope it isn't too tight?"

When I finally got the meat down my throat I stared at him and my feet in disbelief, not wanting to know all the things he had done while I slept. How could I sleep over something like that? When he was batching up my leg!? I scolded myself for it, but desided to give him a shaking head in no.

"It's fine... but why does it look green?" After a moment of staring at the cleanly done bandadge I noticed small spots of green below the fabric. "Is it infected?" Now I thought of the worst.

"I anointed your entire ankle area with a healing recepy called: Salwa. It will speed the healing process and also allow you to use it more better." The Demon explained, as I nodded in understantment. It wasn't so bad, he had noticed my limping before and I believed strongly that he wasn't a creep. He had helped me this much, for what reason exactly? "But now I must convince, I also patched your left arm-- where it would seem you got hit by an arrow."

My jaw felt like dropping off it's place. I quickly took my arm out and saw a clear bandadge done on my bleeding wound, like the one on my leg. This wasn't possible. How could he know I had another wound? I never told or showed it.

"I-- how-?" I was beyond confused.

"I smelled a fair scent of fresh blood, and since it wasn't I who was bleeding, I came to the conclusion that it must be you." He said as he walked little away, giving me time to process this. I just sat there, thinking dearly what else were Demons capable of?

"Oh... right." I said, staring down at my left arm as I rolled it enough on the side to see familiar symbol shining on it. But I covered it up when my saviour approached me again his hand straight, handing me my bow and arrow trug, none the less the arrows and my stolen long brown cloak. "Are we leaving?"

Why did I say we?

"Staying in one place is dangerous, especially in your condition." He told, while he swinged on himself his own dark black cloak, clicking it close from forward. My eyes narrowed up a bit, as I finally desided to get up. I pushed aside the cover and took another meat stick to eat, before I got on my feet. The sprained ankle didn't feel so bad as yesterday-- in fact five times better. It was little painful still, but much better.

... Quite effective healing poison.

When I got done eating, I begun to try on my new weapons how they would fit. I wrapped around my shoulder and left side the leather belt of the trug, until I tightened enough so it wouldn't drop. Nextly I got the arrows into the trug which was easier than the first job, and then I hopped my bow onto my right shoulder. I didn't have a mirror, but I knew I looked damn good with these.

Finally some protection and succeding!

Even though we both did our own jobs to get ready, I couldn't ignore my need to peek what he was doing. So as I bended down to rub my ached feet I glanced quietly back at him, watching him hid below his armour boots some sneaky little daggers... this guy was quite dangerous. Wait, didn't he say it was 'dangerous' to stay in one place, how could someone like him be scared to stick in one place longer than usual? He's unbelievably powerful, he shouldn't be worrying of nothing.

Demons are at the bottom of the food chain!

I froze a bit, looking back down on my feet. Where did he come from?

What could he be possibly be escaping of?

"I don't want to be the one to tell this, but I feel most responsible--" When he begun to speak again I could feel something different in his tone, it was deeper. I slowly got back on my feet and looked back at him, when he desided to keep a pause to himself. I watched as he stared down at the ground, avoiding my gaze. "I will accompany you till we get some new clothes on you, but after that, I'm afraid our paths will have to apart."

I stared.

His yellow eyes glowed in the light of rising sun, but something in him had changed. I could see it clearly now. His body stand was much more stadier and strong, he may hadn't seem threatening, but dangerous.

Even though I didn't expect things go like this, somehow I knew it coming.

What could I do else but agree?

I made a tiny nod to his statement, watching as he nodded back and got to pick up his massive silver gloves on his hands. My eyes hazed as I processed what he had said, sighing. What was this? I felt disappointed and odd...

I seriosly didn't expect him to take me with?

What am I thinking!?

"You've done so much for me already." I said, heading to the door without putting much thinking to it. I just wanted to get out before he'd buy me jewels too which I didn't deserve.

Maybe that would have been much painless leave from the start.

But I didn't even get to grab the door's handle as a massive arm was slammed against the door, the Demon now strongly maintaining his presence beside me. Maybe infront too. I froze to look at his eyes, shivering how fast and soundlessly he was after me. But as I look more closer of his hazel yellow eyes they looked to possess so much more in them, that it was like he had to explain something, which he couldn't bring himself up to.

But the situation turned odder as he looked down at my body once, my eyes almost relaxing until my jaw gapped when he eyed me.

For a moment I though he was now gonna rape me.

"-- You don't actually believe I will let you leave while looking like that?" He asked, his eyebrow raised

I froze in the moment of thought as I looked down at myself, seeing same familiar worn grey T-shirt which I had wore for six years now, not understanding why it wasn't good. It was only temporary until I would arrange enough money to buy some clothes on my own. So I met his eyes again to tell I was fine with them.

"Yeah, what's wrong with this?" I asked, showing my shirt. I might showed too much of bare skin as the Demon momentarily widened his eyes and suddenly covered his eyes with his arm, innocently lifting his head to look up at the roof. I couldn't believe this-- could there be creatures like him out there?

"Please, lower your hem." He pleaded, while I snorted and did as told. He was seriosly the nicest person I had ever met. Scratch that-- the kindest, oddest and uniquest Demon I've ever met. I think he gives me some hope to this cruel black-and-white world. After a moment he peeked a bit to make sure I had obeyed and then he sighed, opening the door for me. "Let's go and get you some more covering clothes."

"Oi," I warned him of saying one more thing of my clothing, and I would let him taste his own medicine. Although I think I couldn't find one negative thing about his armour and protective equipment-- he was really a badass. "This is the last time you buy me anything... I already owe you more than what I can offer."

He closed the door once we both got out, then he walked with me down the motel's hallway. It was much more nicer in bright day light, but at night the building looked like scrap. And it was also more comfortable to walk with him knowing he wasn't intending to hurt me, but to assist me to go on in life.

"Miss, you should know that you owe me nothing." He told in deep honesty, when I stared at him in disbelief. We got to the stairs and started to go down, but my speed only slowered when he said that. I couldn't believe he was actually going to let me for free.

"What?" I questioned, well if we look better I can't actually offer him anything and he knows probably knows that. But it can't be that he's doing this for his own free will-- he's insane. "You can't be serious."

He stopped to wait for me as I realized I had stopped walking, he waiting me by the end of the stairs. "You have given me company, even though not by your own will first, but it's the only thing I need from you."

I was jaw gapped open, desiding to follow as he motioned so and begun to walk again.

"So my company is the only thing you need to pay me all this?" I asked still in disbelief, jogging little painfully to catch up with him. And we were again going down some stairs. "Why's that? Are you sure that's all?"

Was I giving hints?

Of what?

"That is all." He continued in all honesty, while we kept walking.

It didn't took long as we found ourselves giving back the motel's key, and then our way out of the building. Now we stood outside, in the crowd, in the town's most wildest time there was. The Demon led the way and most of the people and creatures around us knew to keep their distance, which made it easier for me to walk beside him. At some point I realized some of them just stared at us, which was the reason I pulled my hoodie on... it was really distracting.

My friend here was tall and it was easy for him to search good clothing sellers, and by time, he chose to go to one of the sellers... who was selling battle-proof clothes.

This is too odd.

We don't even know each other's names.

"Good morning. " There was a warm welcoming by a lady behind the table, but she wasn't a human either. I'd say she was an alien if I was rude, but let's just say she had these odd attenas sticking out of her forehead, telling she must be half-breed of a human and a bug. A cockcroach's off spring I'd say. "What can I have for you?"

"I was wondering can you find enough suitable clothes for my female friend here? The price isn't a problem at all, but the kinds of clothes that she would like to wear, and the kind of fabric which will protect her." When my saviour and terrible Demon friend said that I was so ready to hit his arm for it, but desided not to. He was doing this for some reason, which I was so ready to shake out of him later before he leaves.

But I did give him a hard glare once our eyes locked, my mouth turning to thin line.

"You are in the right shop then." She said warmly, as she motioned for me to come on other side of the table. "Danks, come to the cash! I will take measurements of your size, then I will find you enough good clothes."

A guy called Danks came to the cash, he was probably her brother of how alike they looked. But he was bigger and muscular like my Demon buddy here, and as I got on the board to get my measurements done, I noticed how he was slowly getting away from the shop.

"Where you're going?" I quickly asked, he wasn't planning to leave me in trouble, was he? But he made eye glance to me, stopping for second.

"I must get something done with, I will be back to pay. Wait for me in here." He told me, and I trusted on him. So I nodded as he disappeared into the crowd, leaving me there alone. I knew he was coming back. He had to come back, didn't he?

What's he going to do?

"Please take off your weapons and cloak." The woman nicely told me, as I hesitantly begun to do as told. I hadn't used to all this at all. When all I had left was the worn grey T-shirt I was surprised she didn't say anything of it, but took out a gauge, then begun to take up my hips' readings, my arms too, legs, as well my torso. "You really do need new clothes."

I chuckled a bit when she laughed quietly, she was oddly nice too. That Demon had good taste of shoppers, although yesterday's was a bit too rude and creepy. Well, the old man was the town's only gun seller, so it was enough understanding.

But I am looking forward of having new clothes...!

After about five minutes, she had brought me some different kinds of clothes, and I chose the ones that pleased me. So now I was trying them on, and surprisingly, they looked enough good. I had chose tight but scretchy dark brown pants, which on fits a gun belt, then leather boots that really feels odd, but looks good. To my upper body I wear under a white tank top and on it a nice 'hoodie' which contains belt where I can have my arrow trug and arrow easily put, so it was a relief to have that. But this wasn't all, I even got my own cloak which was the color of darker brown, not pitch black like the Demon's, but similar. These clothes were warm and comfy. And they all matched greatly.

The outfit looked perfect.

Fabulous.

I had never felt so relieved and excited in my entire lifetime.

It looks also expensive.

I sighed, while I got out to show my new combination of clothes. The lady waiting for me squealed little by herself as she got closer to fix my strap of the arrow trug on rightful spot, but all and all was happy.

"They suit you perfectly." She said happily and proudly, yes I give her credits. She helped me a lot.

"Thanks to you." I replied as I still admired myself from the mirror. This was incredible- too good to be true. Now I just had to wait till my friend comes back, and I can ask my question to everything. He did answer once, but that wasn't the truth I just knew it.

I feel little in peace.

Everything felt like clicking together for a moment.

Till it all was taken away by a single voice coming behind the cash's other side.

"Have you seen this girl?"

Okay a little cliffhang, but bare with me!
