Still shaken from the previous events, I felt as if the walls were closing in on me, the shadows creeping ever closer, the darkness threatening to swallow me. Thinking of the leopard, staring at the spot on the floor where the man collapsed, wondering why this was happening. I tried to close my eyes but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I couldn't take it, I screamed into the darkness. No sooner than I did a man came running in. He was quite tall, with short blond hair and glasses. He bent down by the side of the bed and took my hand in his.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" He asked

"No I'm fine." I lied. I didn't want to talk to this stranger. He seemed strange.

"Are you sure?" He pressed

"I think so." 

He could see me shaking and sighed.

"He won't like this..." He mumbled.

"Won't like what?" I questioned, but he didn't answer, he only dragged me out of bed and took me down the hall. 

We turned into a small corridor where he told told me to wait. 

"My name is David, you must wait here, I work for Freddie as one of his chefs"

I stood outside a large wooden door as David knocked three times. The door opened a crack revealing a very tired looking brown eye. 

"What is it David?" Freddie asked him.

"The girl, master Freddie. She can't sleep. She is scared."

"I can imagine so. The poor darling, she must be terrified by the past events! Bring her in David." 

" very we'll master Freddie." David grasped me by the arm and led me into Freddie's room. It was large, with a huge crystal chandelier and full of cats. The walls were cream and the floor was marble. The black rug contrasted with the gold gilding around the ceiling. I was presented to Freddie.

"Hello darling. Can't sleep?" He questioned

"No sir. " 

"You can call me Freddie" 

"Alright... Freddie" 

"Now, let's get you a place to sleep. You can have my bed and I'll take the couch ok?" 

"Oh no! I couldn't possibly...."

"No I insist!" He said. He put a pillow and blanket on the sofa and lifted me into the bed. It was quite big with white sheets. He then went to the sofa and dismissed David. He got onto the soft purple sofa and fell asleep. Somehow I felt safe in his presence and I soon fell asleep too.
