Superman IV

Yeah; let's start this off with a bang... That bang being one as powerful as the explosion that famously destroyed the planet Krypton... If you haven't guessed by the title, we're starting with Superman IV: Quest for Peace! A movie that pretty much killed the Superman film franchise until 2006, I'm surprised that no one has attempted to rewrite this film... And I'm excited to share my ideas! Though I'm not sure if they'll work... But let me know what you think!

Plot
So our story begins with Superman going around saving the day as usual and like the original film; he's trying his best to get rid of all of the nuclear weapons that the Earth has. While that's going on; a space shuttle crashes to Earth and Superman arrives too late to stop it, the only survivor Hank Henshaw is horrifically disfigured and ends up with a vendetta against Superman. Enter... Lex Luthor; Lex sees that he and Hank both a common agenda: To get rid of Superman; to do so, Lex promises to rebuild Hank into something new and powerful while saying "So Superman wants a taste of his own power then... So be it..."

A few weeks later and Hank is reborn with an appearance similar to Superman; with only one major difference that being that sets them apart... That fact being that he is part mechanical, he gives himself a new name based on his new appearance: Cyborg Superman! Now; I am well aware that the character of Cyborg Superman doesn't appear until a few years after this film came out, but I saw this as the perfect opportunity to introduce a character who actually exists in the comics rather than the character Superman fights in the film...

So Cyborg Superman is set loose upon Metropolis; threatening to destroy the Daily Planet and half of the city with a nuclear weapon if Superman doesn't reveal himself, Superman does so and tries to reason with Hank as way to calming him down. But Hank is having none of it and attacks the Man of Steel; Superman and his opponent have an epic battle, facing off against one another with the Man of Steel trying to reason with Hank, saying that he can help him. Hank blames Superman and says that if he had come to help him like he promised everyone else, then none of this would have happened.

It all comes to head when Cyborg Superman has our hero pinned against a wall of an electric power plant, he floats how he was able to take him down like a overloading a plug socket. Then it dawns on Superman... The only way to defeat this Cyborg imposter would be to overload his cybernetic implants with electricity; hopefully short circuiting them in the process. Using every ounce of strength, Superman is able to force Cyborg Superman away from him before quickly grabbing him and with one mighty swing; tosses Hank into the power line. The electricity is too much for Hank's cybernetic implants and they short circuit; shutting him down. Everyone cheers for Superman; but the Man of Steel is feeling rather guilty by saying "I didn't want this to happen Hank; but because my own crusade against your weapons... I failed to keep a promise that I had made to you and the rest of the world... I'm sorry..." He flies off and goes to see his friends; Lois Lane manages to cheer him up by telling him that he done what he thought was right.

Meanwhile; Lex manages to recover Hank's unconscious body... Turns out that there's a computer program that they've discovered... One that's rather familiar with Superman and his home planet... We end the film with Lex saying, "This program is alive and it knows everything about Superman; his history... Family... And weaknesses..." Before turning to the computer and adding "Isn't that right... Brainiac??" And that is how we end...

So, that was my take on Superman IV; let me know what you think and what you would do differently!
