"say (L/N) san.."

"mm?" (Y/N) looks at Hinata while
the two of them were walking together towards the nearest convenience store (which is Ukai's)

"I've been asking my self this ever since the first time we met" the ginger told the (H/C) haired girl who tilt her head and waited for him to continue

"(L/N) san.. have we met before?.."

(Y/N)'s pov

"...the day I got in my first real match
against Kitagawa Daiichi where I met
Kageyama...

I met a girl who looked exactly just like
you." he said while now staring at me
with a serious expression

my eyes then went wider as I remember
the oranged haired boy that I met before

"oh..they won" a friend of mine mumbled
while watching Tooru's team play against Yukigaoka ,

I raised an eyebrow as I watch Tobio have a heated argument with a player from the other team , ...

I stared at the orange haired number 1 and squinted my eyes to see his face clearly

"...he looks like the sun" I mumbled

- time skip (still flash back)

as I was heading to the restroom after
escaping from Tooru who was begging for me to walk home with him ,

muffled sobs and sniffles were heard so I stopped walking and hid behind a wall to peek if someone was actually there

the same sunshine number 1 earlier is now currently hugging his knees and crying.

"hey..." I mumbled as I am now standing
awkwardly infront of him , he looked up
with his puffy eyes and I frowned

"I uh... you were really cool earlier" I told
him , he opened his mouth and wiped his
eyes "I- re..really?" he asked and I nod

"mm" I hummed and ruffled his orange hair

"th-thank you so much!! ah crap I gotta
go- , goodbye!" he yelled before waving
goodbye while running

back to present

"...were you that girl (L/N) san?" Hinata
asked

"I..I don't.. think so", I told him while avoiding eye contact , he let's out a sigh
"aww I thought you were that nice girl"
he mumbled while shaking his head in
disappointment

"hehe..m-maybe uh that was my twin sister" I joked

"you have a twin??" he asked "uhm no
that was a joke-" "oh.."

"sorry"

"oh look we're here!" Hinata exclaimed
while looking at the familiar convenient
store "I know this place.." I mumbled

"You've been here before?" Hinata asked
"Sugawara san brought me here before"
I told him as we enter the store

I turned around and saw a certain old
blond smoking at the counter "Kai.." I
mumbled ,

"you guys know each other?" Hinata who's standing beside me asked

"mm.." is all I said before walking around
the store to look for some (fav/candy) and (fav/drink). I then went towards the counter and placed all of the snacks that I got ,

"you're already done?" I asked Hinata , he
nods and showed me the paper bag which I assume are the meat buns.

"these stuffs are bad for you you know??" Kai told me while holding
(fav/candy) "eat a proper meal will ya??" he added , I roll my eyes "don't care" I mumble as I give him my money

he gave me the change and then handed me the plastic bag

"..come back here whenever you can , you have a lot of explaining to do (Y/N)" Kai said in a serious tone , I let out a sigh and gave him a small nod before leaving with Hinata

"are you related to him or something?" he asked while eating a meat bun and handing one to me , I take it from him and thanked him

"his grandpa was the one who taught me
play volleyball" I answered but it came
muffled due to the meat bun that I was
chewing

but surprisingly enough, the ginger was able to understand what I said

--- time skip

"...glad to know that you decided to come back here after your date with
the shrimpy" Ukai mumbled and put the magazine down that he was holding

"I mean, you did told me to come back.."
you retorted and ignored the 'date with the shrimpy' part

"right.." he stood up from his seat and then removed his apron "let's go talk over there" he pointed at the chairs and you nod

"since when did you and your family moved back here?" he asked with a raised eyebrow

"2 weeks or so , oh and I came here alone" you answered with a shrug

Ukai stared at you with a dumb founded
expression and tried processing what you just said before bombarding you with questions

"wait what? what do you mean by alone?"

"what about your parents? your brother?
does your mom even know you're here??"

you groaned and cut him off by whacking him with a random rolled news paper that you found.

"ow- where the hell did you even get that?!" he asked while rubbing his forehead.

"look.., I know you're confused as shit and all so I'll just go straight to the point so you can calm the fuck down"

"alright alright, geez.. no need to curse" he mumbled but you just ignored it.

You let out a sigh "mom wasn't able to
survive her disease, mom is dead."

he looked at you with wide eyes and tried saying something but it felt like as if his lips were glued shut together.

Ukai have always had though of her as an older sister, due to their family being
neighbors and friends with each other
(mother's/name) would visit their house.

Noticing the awkward silence you let out
a sigh before speaking once again

"and right after her funeral, dad came
home with a god damn woman who
turned out to be Tooru's actual mom."

"oh, well isn't that just wonderful? a
sweet and touching family reuining, right
after mine... disappeared" You added
with a dry chuckle

"what.. the actual heck"

"I know."

"then where do you stay now? and wait,
aren't you like in highschool? Where did
you get the tuition fee??" he asked

"I found out that mom has been saving
money ever since I was a kid so I used it
to rent some cheap apartment, I also took an exam to get a discount for the tuition fee" you explained with a grin with an ok sign on your hand

he nodded then asked again
"but do your dad and brother know that you're here?"

"I'd really appreciate it if you stop calling
them that, but to answer you, no. They don't know and I see no reason for them to know" you said with a shrug

"alright alright, but..just to let you know, you can tell me if you need anything" he said and stood up from his seat

"after all you're the daughter of the first
ever girl I loved..."

"what?"

"I said, your mother might haunt me if I
don't take care of her child!" he yelled
