Magic's Memories by @Ellowyne

A Bit About the Author:

Ellowyne is a twice-Wattpad featured author who writes primarily fantasy romance with plenty of magic. When not gushing about her world and her characters, she can be found searching for hedgehogs on Pinterest.

Title:

Well, it matches the previous book and it fits the book itself very well. While it may not make sense at first, it does in the end and I think it's perfect.

Cover:

Lovely. I would like to see more color in it personally as it's more white/grey to me, but it's fine as it is.

Blurb:

We already went over this today, haha, but I think it's perfect the way it is. Just the right length and gives the right amount of information. ^_^

The Good:

As always, your characters are on point. While I did have a slight issue with two of them, I'll speak more of that below. I can definitely tell that you think your characters through—it certainly shows in the way you've portrayed their depth throughout the story.

Your grammar was also good—I don't recall spotting any serious mistakes at least.

The Bad:

I have a terrible memory, but I'll do my best. These were the things that stood out to me the most in regards to issues.

The only issue I had with characterization was Desden and Dormaeous. If I'm getting those names right. *face palm* In any case, it was very hard to keep the D-named people apart. Very difficult. Maybe I just should have been paying better attention, but I kept getting them confused.

Your plot wasn't too bad at all, but I just felt like the beginning felt dragged out instead of moving at the same pace as the previous book and as the rest of book 2. Try to keep it even, cut out things that are unnecessary and that slow down your plot. But that was the only issue I had with your plot. I don't recall any other problems except my impatience at updates.

One last thing. World-building. I loved your world-building in the first book and while I know that that wasn't the main focus of book 2, I really would have liked to see more things, even just little bits. I really enjoyed the Healer's Guild being shown in greater depth, but I sometimes felt like the world-building bits were just empty because the focus was on other things. Try to keep that in mind when you edit, even just descriptions of places if not necessarily world-building things.

What the Reader Thought:

I'm not sure which of the two books is my favorite. But I loved both equally and I really enjoyed getting to see more of Feyla in this book as it's focused more on her than Sedgewick. I do have an appointment with Arilla...

The ending was beautifully tragic in some senses and bittersweet in others and while the reader part of me is really sad in one sense, I do understand why the ending had to be the way it was and I love it.

At least yours has a better ending than some. *coughs and looks at Tweeter109
