So this is a poem about the play Dear Evan Hansen for KittyOfYore's poetry contest.

A boy
Looks for a bit of light
Seeping through the darkness

When the light fades
He creates his own;
Unfortunately,
Stealing light from others
Along the way.

He shines as bright as the sun
And all is well
But even the sun must go down
At some point

Night approaches
And the darkness
Comes seeping in

Leaving the boy alone
With his regret.

As he cries through the night
He looks to the sky
Reminiscing his day in the sun
And blinks in surprise,
As he is not met with darkness.

The great black sky
Is covered with twinkling lights
From end to end.

They co-exist,
Sharing their small pieces of light-
Unlike the great sun,
Blotting out the stars
Each day.

The boys smiles, realizing
He never needed
The light of the sun after all.

In that moment,
The boy changed,
Deciding to live like the stars.
