1.06 - One call away
When the doorbell rang throughout the house, Andrian knew who it was, padding down the stairs she pulled the money off the table. Opening the door to the dusk of outside, Andrian was met with her usual pizza delivery guy. "Evening Auggie." She greeted, eyeing the box in his hands. He was a High school drop out that no one really cared to remember, which was unfortunate.
"Android, how is staying in lame school?" He nodded his head, passing the cardboard box over to the young girl. "Word on the street you left the Ollie boys?" His statement sounded more like a question. Andrian smiled politely, handing Auggie the money.
"Schools been great." She answered shyly. Going to close the door, Auggie stopped her, wedging his hand in the door. Auggie wasn't unattractive in the slightest, since he left school he put on a lot of muscle and his facial features got sharper. Back in school he was a greasy, acne covered teenager - but that was over a year ago.
"How has Sparkles been?" He looked into Andrian's house, as if expecting to see Sparkles. Raising her eyebrow he shrugged, trying to play it cool. "She was a babe when I went to school, thinkin about going back if she there." He grinned, teeth perfectly straight. "We won't talk about this." He gave her a thumbs up, stepping back from her doorstep. "By the way, there's a cute little message I was told to write in the box, seems like Andy-man is working something." Retreating to his car, the pizza delivery logo sat on the roof, she watched as he revved down the street.
Scrunching up her face, Andrian locked the door, placing the pizza on the counter. Pulling out her phone she opened her messages with Sparkles, biting her lip as she texted her friend. Finished updating Sparkles on what Auggie wanted to know, she flipped the pizza box lid open.
Her eyes widened in surprise, to note that this message was not from her Mum.
'To Andy,
You'll never guess who I ran into.
Answer: your Mum.
You + Me = Dinner Friday?
-Giuseppe'
Heart beating quickly in her chest, her palms sweating, as a smile stretched across her face. Laughing to herself, she pinned the phone number that was scrawled across the bottom of the cardboard, trying to control her breathing enough to send a legible text.
Trying to calm herself, she picked up the first slice of pizza she could and started to eat it. Her eyes pinned to the dark screen of her phone, waiting for it to light up with the familiar beep of a text message. And it did, Andrian jumped in her seat, quickly letting her shoulders droop when it only revealed that Sparkles and Angie were out the front waiting for her to let them in.
"Wait, what do you mean Giuseppe asked you out?" Angie gasped, throwing herself down on the couch while Sparkles brought the pizza over.
"You, plus me, equals dinner friday?" Sparkles read aloud, snickering as she sat down beside Angie, who giggled, nursing a slice of pizza. "This can't be Giuseppe."
"For it to be Giuseppe it would go against the very nature of his existence." Angie scoffed, re-reading his words over and over again. "It isn't even in his hand writing."
"Of course it isn't shit-for-brains, the pizza was ordered over the phone." Sparkles scoffed back, placing the box in her lap and studying the words closely.
"Where's Minnie?" Andrian asked, trying to change the topic, taking a seat beside them.
"Her Mother totes doesn't let her out." Sparkles answered nonchalantly, through a mouthful of pizza. Andrian gnawed on her lip as the two girls spoke about their conspiracy theories on who it could be. "Maybe it was Auggie, he was probs the one to write it."
"I don't think Auggie was trying to get at me." Andrian smirked, pulling her phone out her pocket and onto the table. Both girls eyes snapped to it as soon as it vibrated on the clean glass.
"Omg, read it out loud." Sparkles slapped Angie's arm in excitment, the girl not protesting as she wiped her fingers clean on a napkin, gring across both their faces.
"It says; Why hello there Andy, I see you got the pizza." Andrian read aloud, looking up from her phone to clarify the girls got that. "I think my Mum has arrested him."
"What?" Both girls screamed, eyes wide and jaws dropped.
"He said; Your Mum and I were hanging out and I thought a little message could be snuck in there, after all she did ask what Pizza you liked." Andrian raised her eyebrows, it was the longest text she had ever received from a male. "What should I send back."
"Okay, this is Giuseppe, can't use emoji's and can't let him know he won or use abbreviations." Angie pondered, eyebrows furrowed. "Okay so, say Did you get arrested? And then be a little flirty and mention how you think him in cuff's would be hot." She snickered, getting a hard clap on the back in praise from Sparkles.
"This is great." Sparkles squealed, picking at her pizza slice they had both been nursing.
"He texted me back!" She squealed, clearling her throat to cover it up.
"Don't play easy again." Sparkles warned, throwing the pizza box at Andrian as she texted him back. "What's he saying?"
"He got done for being on the phone while driving - but he got let off." Andrian answered, sitting forwards more, trying to calm herself down and failing.
"Now ask him what is this about Friday." Angie ordered her, throwing the pizza crust into the box, her eyes going over Giuseppe's message again. Her lips were pursed together, trying to comprehend why Giuseppe wanted to try again with Andrian.
"You know what this means." Sparkles spoke up, a mischievous grin trying to fight its way across her mouth. Her lips a shimmering pink, her highlighter along her cheekbones almost blinding. The two other girls stopped what they were doing to wait for Sparkles. "Our girl must got some good pussy."
Cheeks flaming red, Andrian stared down at her lap shyly, listening to the two girls scream in laughter.
"He texted me back." She said softly, the two girls shutting up and waiting for their friend to say the text out loud. "He said he wants to pick me up at five."
"Five?" Angie balked, physically reclining in confusion. Both girls looked utterly confused.
"It's Summer... it is like, still light out at five." Sparkles scrunched up her face, twisting her head in confusion. "My fam has dinner at six, this boy is whipped, I aint ever heard of a man picking me up at five."
