Q&A No.1
Warning: Spoilers!
This is my first Q&A and it's quite overdue because usually, it's for hitting a milestone. Well, the milestone is that I'm in a writer's block but I still want to give you something.
You'll have to note that I'm being a bit clever with your questions. I'm like a genie being nitpicky with the wording. You might try to be more specific next time but I won't answer repeat questions.
These questions will be divided into four topics: Myself, Writing, Other Books, Other, and TGGBB. If you weren't able to get a question in, try again in the next Q&A. I cut off adding more by the time I started to answer the questions. I hope you enjoy and see you in the next update!
I also made a separate work for this and any future Q&As I will make. The work is called "Solving a Cube".
Myself:
What's your gender? How old are you? What country are you residing in?
I was born on March 1, 2000 so as of right now I'm 20 years old. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I have been living in the US for most of my life but I wasn't born here. I'm in LA, SoCal baby!
What university do you go to? What is your major?
I'm currently a sophomore in UC Berkeley studying for my Bachelors in Civil Engineering.
How did you choose that major?
It's tempting to just copy and paste my college application here. As the eldest, I would have to make the Lego sets for my brother to play with leading me to enjoy building. My father is a mechanical engineer who travels for work so he would teach me how to technically/mechanically keep up the household. In high school, I joined Habitat for Humanity and the ACE (Architecture, Construction, and Engineering) Mentor Program that fueled my interest in civil engineering.
I'm set on joining the construction industry but I'm debating if I want to go into safety and health or environmental engineering after learning project management wasn't my thing from my previous internship. This summer I have an internship with a company as a safety intern so we'll see. I don't like sitting in one place with a desk job doing calculations and would rather go on site and see progress and things being applied- that's why I prefer industry over research. I find civil engineering to be a foundation of our society and I want to contribute to that.
If any of you are interested in civil engineering please comment about it- I'd love to talk more about it.
Some of you may be "confused" how a writer such as myself decided to go into a completely different major. Writing for a living would be fun but I was always a practical person and didn't want to risk being in a bad financial situation if things got tough. So I rather work in a good industry such as construction and write on the side. I also don't want to be graded for how I write and be told what to write. I would rather just spend my extra time writing what I want. But don't make my decision affect your own. If you noticed, the main characters are into the liberal arts so I can inspire you all: music, cooking, art, reading/writing.
How have you been doing lately during the quarantine?
I got several of these questions and I'm happy you asked me that. I'm doing well. I went back home, but I'll have to go back to school because of my internship. I don't really want to go, but it's an excellent company and internship position. All of my classes are online and are Pass/No Pass meaning if I get C- or above I pass, but I'm still quite stressed on the workload and finals coming up.
I was actually stressed and depressed the past week and couldn't even sleep. One time until 6 am on a school day. I actually read a couple of chapters of my book just to see your comments and it made me feel better. A lot of you have told me how my book made you feel better and I'm happy I was able to do that especially seeing how it made me feel better as well. I hope all of you are doing well.
Will you ever do a face reveal?
Maybe when I publish my book. I don't really believe anyone would want to see my face because it would ruin the illusion- like oh it's this person. As of right now, just imagine a person with a cube head. Pretty scary huh?
What are some fun facts about yourself so we can know you better?
My username is related to my real name.
I'm a bit of a tomboy. I enjoy dressing up whether it be cute, punk, or stylish. I don't really do makeup because it's a hassle having to put it on and take it off every day. But a majority of my friends are guys. I'm friendly with other girls but I have a bit of a crude sense of humor that only guys would share. Some of my guy friends had crushes on me so that's the drawback.
Sometimes my accent comes out when I'm super excited or mad. I was taught English instead of my native tongue because they knew I was going to live in the US, but I'm able to understand the language when my relatives spoke to each other. I also have the SoCal jargon so I would say things such as: like, dude, man, bro, c'mon, and y'know.
My favorite season is summer. I love wearing casual dresses or a tank and shorts. I hate jeans and would prefer sweats or leggings. Living in Berkeley has increased my cold tolerance but I would rather roast on the sidewalk than freeze to death. Out of habit, I always wear a light jacket over my tank top in case it gets cold- I hate drafts even from an oscillating fan.
I got myself second ear piercings for my 20th birthday party. I like wearing hoops or fake plugs. I would like to get a tattoo. In another lifetime I would love to get a sleeve of Japanese artwork like koi and sakura blossoms, but I would settle with getting a band on my arm of things related to my culture. But I'm also indecisive so I would get temporary tattoos of sleeves for more freedom- if I wear a dress I don't want a tattoo ruining it. I would also want a tattoo related to TGGBB. I'm glad that in the construction business tattoos are kind of the norm.
I've gotten into D&D with two of my friends- we share memes and have a campaign. I listened to the podcast The Adventure Zone. I was a vegetarian druid (like a nature wizard) named Alton who is allergic to animals but loves them because they're so cute. I would be at a disadvantage if I ever tried to hug one. It was hilarious. I would like a D&D chapter with the main TGGBB gang.
My favorite cuisine is Asian cuisine. I always need to have rice in my meal. I tea over coffee. (I know you'll try to figure out what ethnicity I'm in but don't bother- I'm just a cube who has taste.)
I started working out. Sadly, my metabolism ain't what it used to be but I still love food. I use Chloe Ting- you should check them out. It's less on body image but more for being healthy.
Serious note here:
I was diagnosed with ADHD-Inattentive very recently. I'm not hyperactive, but I struggle with attention from being in a conversation or lecture to memorizing tedious things. Going into college, things got really difficult but I figured that's just college for you. It made me feel bad because I made Naomi in TGGBB smart and I felt like a fake as if I peaked in high school or something. Yeah, I got some of that imposter syndrome. But apparently from the tests, I was smart enough in high school to glide through it without really studying and now in college, I don't have good study habits to help me with these harder courses. So be sure to develop good study habits young'uns. That also explains my career choice. I enjoy calculations over theory and concepts because it requires more thinking, I also get bored easily and can't pay attention in meetings and presentations, and I want to walk around rather than have a desk job.
What is your favorite music genre? What is your favorite band?
I love all kinds of music, but I don't really have a favorite band. I enjoy whatever is pleasant to my ears. From TV show musicals like Steven Universe, broadway like Dear Evan Hansen, musical Disney parodies from Jon Cozart, rap from Run the Jewels, as a history buff I enjoy Epic Rap Battles of History, and I love the songs from musical comedian Bo Burnham. I enjoy Ben Platt and Frank Ocean. I had my boy band phase during middle school with All Time Low and 5SOS, but never One Direction. I recently discovered three artists: Francis and the Lights, Half Alive, and I Don't Know How But They Found Me.
My dad gave me his iPod (I don't know if any of you know what that is) but it was his music so I grew up and enjoy 70s, 80s, 90s music like Abba. I enjoy pop, rock, indie, country, disco. I also would listen to songs I hear in anime like the opening or closing songs or the soundtrack.
When I study or write, I listen to music with no lyrics because I wouldn't be able to focus and would want to sing along to them. Usually, I would listen to the classic lofi hip hop radio- beats to relax/study to or something. I'm CULTURED folks.
What do you do for fun? Any series you're invested in right now: TV shows, anime, book series, anything?
I read comics and manga, watch shows and videos, play video games, look at memes, and mess around with my friends on video chats or group chats.
I'm currently rewatching Haikyu!! with my mom since season four is on hold. I've been trying to have her watch anime for years and the one time I decided to rewatch an anime she decides to join me and watch a volleyball anime. I don't even play volleyball, I played soccer in high school as can be seen from chapter one of TGGBB. I'm also rewatching Ouran High School Host Club with a friend (my recommendations are so good, I often threaten him with not recommending him manga or anime and he would bow down to me in apology) and Avatar: The Last Airbender with another. I'm also watching Rick and Morty, Futurama, and The Expanse with a friend. Season four for My Hero Academia ended and I'm caught up with the manga for that and Demon Slayer. I'm deciding if I should rewatch other anime or start new ones. I'm rereading my favorite manga series "Takane to Hana" that I really recommend because of their dynamic and humor- it feels like TGGBB!
I've been watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and finished The Mandalorian. I also watch late-night show hosts like John Oliver, James Corden, and Trevor Noah- I get my news from them because other newscasts can be depressing to me and they at least deliver the news in an entertaining way.
Currently, what I do for fun is watch gameplay on Youtube. My little brother watched gameplay and I started watching it with him until we drifted to our own preferences. I mainly watch Markiplier, Jacksepticye, MatPat. I remember when my college roommate caught me watching some gameplay and she was surprised but she said it was fitting- I'll take it as a compliment. I enjoy horror games and games with a plot like Uncharted (History buff remember?), The Last of Us, and God of War (History + Mythology buff). I also bought myself a Switch and I play Animal Crossing and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
I know. I'm weird haha.
What is your recommended reading list?
I don't really have one... I haven't read for fun since high school. I can give you a list of my textbooks though. I know, pity the life of a bookworm who became an engineering student.
BUT I would read comics and manga like from Webtoons and Mangago and MangaReader. I can go through stories way faster and have just as much fun.
What is your favorite book of all time?
There is only one book that I have reread many times that should take the spot as my favorite book to read and that is the dictionary. Just kidding, it's The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I enjoy the entire series. For some reason, my father gave his 12-year old daughter that book. It made me a history buff and you can see from Naomi how she enjoys explaining things which I got from that book. I enjoy explaining things and answering questions whether school-related or anything I'm passionate about hence why my answers for this Q&A are long.
What is your favorite Starbucks drink?
I enjoy chai lattes. You were probably thinking something like the main gang like strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla. I mainly enjoy vanilla, I don't like chocolate pastries like brownies or cake because it's too "rich" (a pun for Bennett) but I like chocolate bars themselves, and I enjoy strawberries too.
Will you ever write an autobiography?
I don't think so because I don't believe anyone would really read it. I'm fine with Q&As.
Has your parents' favorite ship changed since you last announced it somewhere in the first book?
I might be wrong but I believe my mother originally shipped Jordomi and my father shipped Rayomi. I was only able to ask my mother and she says she currently ships Bennomi and Decomi as she believes Jordomi is more like siblings or best friends now.
Writing:
Can you give me any tips for a new writer?
Just keep writing. You can read as many articles or talk to as many other writers as you want, but it all comes down to experience. You are the one who has to figure out what writing style works best for you and what genres you enjoy writing. I recommend trying some free-style poems to understand yourself, then short stories and then novels.
How do you manage to write good stories? Where do your ideas come from?
I have to say the shower. I just had an idea for the latest chapter just the other night during a shower.
But it really is whatever comes into mind or what is happening right in front of me. As a writer, you have to be creative, keep thinking and wait for that lightbulb moment. I believe I write good stories because I was a reader first and I write a story I would want to read. That's how I started writing: I decided that if I enjoyed books so much, I should be able to write some stories I would enjoy reading. In terms of my writing style, I value dialogue over description because dialogue can really carry the plot in the end. Also with my sense of humor, I enjoy being witty and weird as can be obviously seen in TGGBB.
Would you like to publish your books?
Yes, I would. I'm currently working on my options. I hired a friend to be my editor and I'll be working on the new version of TGGBB after finals. I'll see if I can work with Wattpad or I'll self-publish on Amazon. When I do publish, I will keep the original TGGBB on Wattpad and will be publishing the new version of TGGBB on Wattpad too (although I'm debating if that will be paid or not). I'll update you all on any news.
Are you working on any other books?
I have two other books I would want to write after TGGBB2 is over. One is a teen fiction that I had created from a writing contest that I actually posted here "Teach Me with a Kiss" and there's a fantasy-adventure one I want to write as well. I had a few others but those two will be my main priority.
Other Books:
Will you make a sequel to It All Started with a Jacket?
No, I will not. If you want to know how IASWAJ ends, you should just read TGGBB. I don't believe I finished writing a plot for IASWAJ so I wouldn't know who Autumn would even end up with. Wyatt is cute and cheeky but I always like underdogs such as Cyrus.
Will you make a sequel to the Pental Pal?
I don't think I will. I think the story is done and I would just want to edit it to polish it as a good stand-alone book. Maybe if I read it again I would change my mind, but there are other stories I would like to read more.
Can we get some questions answered by the characters themselves?
If you happen to ask them a specific question, they might force themselves into the Q&A to steal the show.
Other:
Is bullying that horrible in countries like the USA? I don't believe I have any in my country.
(Note this is a serious topic that I decided to make this question before the TGGBB section to get it out of the way or else it would ruin the atmosphere of this Q&A. Please refrain from being political- we're all better than that and are all just tense at the moment. If you want to skip this question and save it for last, you're free to do so.)
Bullying comes in many forms -racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism- and I don't believe any country can claim they have no bullying. Bullying can be anywhere from a home, to a school, to the workplace, and even on the street. A person can bully a person they know or have never met before in their life.
I have read worse stories about bullying- and this is on the school level. I've read your messages and many were very overwhelming. I want to cry just thinking about it because it's so disgusting and horrible. Yes, the US has a big bullying problem but just because the media covers it a lot doesn't mean no other country has a serious problem either. Not only at the school level but even on a political level in terms of racism, sexism, and homophobia especially. I don't want to point out any specific countries but watch John Oliver because he has pieces of different countries and things they're dealing with before Covid-19. Even now, the racism against Asian-Americans is infuriating- just because you're Asian doesn't mean you're Chinese and just because you're Chinese doesn't mean you have or created Covid-19. And the US is not the only country doing this, other countries are too. I expect the comments here to be civil and nonpolitical- you're better than that, we're better than that.
I have also read people say that their school doesn't have bullying. But unless it's a one-class school where you know everything happening to everyone in their school and home life, you can't make that claim. You don't know what happens between the inner circles of your school's cliques- it may seem fine on the outside but you never know. You can pass by a person in the hallway who had cried themselves to sleep the night before or had thought about killing themselves without ever knowing. And that is the disgusting reality of everything.
In TGGBB, I never specified exactly where it takes place, I just say the city or town, because that is my point. It can happen anywhere to anyone.
So please don't say that bullying doesn't exist under any circumstance, because denying it just feels disrespectful because you can just never know. Once you realize and accept that, you can be aware and identify warning signs and check on people so we can be better.
TGGBB:
What are your thoughts on the rereaders of TGGBB who sometimes spoil the book for new readers?
I want to thank all of you rereaders for taking the time to read the book for the first time and enjoying it so much you read it again. That's the best compliment aside from recommending it to other readers who also reread.
I would often look back at comments and see #rr. But I see that a lot of the time it ruins the story for new readers. Don't you think it's unfair that you were able to enjoy it so well but you're affecting the enjoyment of others? I know a few appreciate rereaders sometimes when they warn if it's a good or bad chapter- hopefully in terms of emotion levels and not the actual writing. But I would appreciate it if you try to tone it down for me. Thank you.
Is the votes or comments theory actually true?
From what I understand, some of you believe that if the latest chapter reaches a certain amount of votes or comments for me to update the book. No, that is not true. I don't care about the number of votes, comments, or reads I have. I'm just happy people still enjoy the story and are following it, especially with my slow updates. I'm happy people are reading anything I write. So please don't waste your effort spamming each line telling people to vote or comment a lot and just enjoy the book and leave the comments alone for people to fangirl/guy or discuss.
Does your family know about you writing this fantastic novel and people are reading it like crazy?
Yes! I believe my father has read some of the first book but my mother hasn't been able to read it yet. My cousins know about iI. Sometimes they would look at the message board and tell me that I need to start updating again. So be sure to thank them.
What inspired you to write TGGBB?
TGGBB is the product of IASWAJ. A bit of a long story here.
I wrote IASWAJ in middle school due to my own experience which would be 2012-2013. I had a pretty friend and this bad-boy kid liked her but my friend had no interest in him. I became friends with him and got to know his friends. I came to like him after hanging out a lot and seeing that he played soccer. His best friend told me at some point he liked me but then stopped- quite the confidence boost. It phased out from there, but then I wanted to write the story. As I was writing IASWAJ, I felt like writing something else. What I enjoyed the most is the dynamic of a female protagonist being friends with and being protected with this cool group of guys. I, myself, always wanted older brothers.
Some of you may have guessed it but Autumn became Naomi, Wyatt became Bennett, Cyrus became Declan, and Luis and Dean meshed to become Jordan. The most significant change was with Luis and Dean because it was troublesome keeping up four boy personalities especially when those two were too similar so I created Jordan and had their humor-relationship be between Jordan and Declan. Bennett is very much different from Wyatt, Wyatt may be more similar to Dominic if anything. Declan is quite different from Cyrus too although they have the same background. I made a reference to the Big Four in TGGBB and they might come up again in TGGBB2.
I didn't want to make a typical good girl-bad boy story or else it will have the same fate as IASWAJ so I added the topic of bullying into it. I never really knew that I was unconsciously reflecting myself onto the book. I knew I was bullied for a bit in middle school that affected my confidence, but I just wrote a book.
Did you know from the start how you wanted it to turn out? Did that plan drastically change or do you have a somewhat similar idea of how you want it to end?
For TGGBB, no. TGGBB was supposed to be a series of random shorts but somewhere in the middle, I decided to create a plot. Even when I decided to make a plot, it was a lot of impromptu until I clearly outlined an endgame. That's why I only accept the last half of TGGBB and not the first half which is the reason I want to make a new version of TGGBB. I was a middle schooler writing about high school AND made a surprisingly popular story so it has a share of plot holes.
What's your writing process? Before the final result, what did your drafts look like? Do you have an outline of how the story will go or just write and go with it?
I can only speak for TGGBB2 right now. I just have an outline of what will happen with little notes in between. When I see that a part is coming up, I then open a new Google document and make an outline for that chapter to encompass that part of the scene. For example I would write "Jordan in jail" in the outline, then in the actual chapter I be more specific like "Gio comes in, gang plot, dad bails out". I write on the spot and don't make a draft- I just do a once over before publishing it because I want to just give it to you guys.
I don't recommend this writing style because I'm vulnerable to writer's block. You can read in the TGGBB mini prequel "Three of Kind" which is the Three Musketeers POV when they first met Naomi. I included a chapter about my writing process and you can see what my outline typically looks like.
I don't write in Wattpad itself because I'm worried it will get lost. I backed-up all of my chapters of TGGBB just in case of that. I'm used to Google docs and I like that there's a revision setting. I believe once I wrote in Wattpad and I accidentally deleted everything- they probably fixed it but I don't use anything other than docs. It's much neater to organize everything in my Google drive.
Please don't hack me. You'll barely see anything anyway.
Have you let the readers influence your plot choices through their reactions?
Only for one thing. But I was already thinking about it and I figured it was better to change it. I'm now really glad I made the decision. I haven't written it yet though.
Do you have an estimate of how many chapters TGGBB2 will be? Do you know when you will be done with it?
No, I don't. I only have an outline. Some parts can have a few chapters in between and I would add extra/transition chapters when I believe it's needed. It is because of that, I don't know when I will be done with it.
Did you create your characters based on any real people?
No, I do my best to separate them from anyone I know as much as possible. I even avoid naming characters of people I know. The only exception is Harvey because I created the character before I became friends with a person named Harvey, and even then, they are completely different. I don't want to confuse myself and that will affect my writing.
Were you inspired by anything as you wrote TGGBB?
Yes! I was inspired most significantly by the anime Ouran High School Host Club. I like to write TGGBB as if it were an anime and I enjoy how the dynamic of a "reverse harem" was like of TGGBB as well as the great humor. I watched the anime midway through writing TGGBB and OHSHC is too perfect. Besides that, perhaps there were other inspirations but none were more influential than OHSHC. You can really see it between Jordan and Tamaki when they get all dramatic.
How much of your personality is expressed into your characters? Who has the biggest percentage of your personality?
Some of it. It helps me write them better because I can sometimes ask myself what I would do if I was in that situation, although they have become their own characters so it's not as easy as before.
I would have to say Jordan has the most amount of my personality in terms of our sense of humor. I like to joke around a lot, especially when things get serious to play out my nervousness, and I'm playful with others, guys and girls, that people have called me flirty but I'm just being funny. I also jab at my friends like how Jeclan are. But Bennett has my serious side, Declan has my short temper, and Naomi has my passion and wonder.
I started the story when I was twelve. I remember that before I would think of them as older siblings. Now that I'm older than them, I think of them as my best friends or college students alongside me. I would love to see a fanart of my younger self running after them as high school students and then my older college self running past them. I might draw it myself- follow me on my Instagram. That was such a shameless plug, I apologize.
If you could be one of the musketeers, who would you be and why?
Probably Jordan because of all of the tech skills he has and we have the same sense of humor.
Do you call the musketeers anything like "my three musketeers" or "my ___".
No, that's so weird haha. When they were older than me when I was in middle school or now that I'm older than them, I still "call" them by their names. Even when discussing the book, I just say their names like they're actual people. Well, maybe sometimes I call them "my babies" when I'm proud of their character arcs.
What were your inspirations for the Three Musketeers?
I made each of them a reference to a typical bad boy.
Bennett is the lone wolf, quiet, mysterious, serious, wealthy.
Jordan is a playful prankster, flirty, all fun and games.
Declan is strong, short-tempered, and loyal/honorable.
I want to even add Dominic who is arrogant/cocky, mysterious, strong and playful.
And if the Three Musketeers really existed, would you join them if you were given a contract in Starbucks?
In a heartbeat. I'll even treat them to their favorite drinks.
What was your favorite scene?
Too many to count. I write so many great scenes, it's hard to keep track which are my favorite ones. Just kidding, if I had that much confidence I would be unstoppable. My favorite scenes are when you guys blow up in the comments whether it be a ship or a bullying scene. Recently I enjoyed the babysitting Delilah scene- I've been waiting to write that for a long time because I knew it was really important to Declan's character. I also enjoyed Gio's introduction during the time Jordan was in custody because it was new and brought more to the gang plot.
Who has been your favorite character to create and write about?
I have favorite characters. I honestly dislike these favoritism questions because I created them and I love all of them- even Raymond! What I'm saying is based on TGGBB2, not the first book.
I enjoy writing for Raymond and Dominic because they bring a different atmosphere into TGGBB and the two have a fun dynamic. I still can't decide on the ship name though... Rayomic? Domimond?
Jeclan is always the go to for conversations. It's so easy making an impromptu conversation it's almost scary. I really enjoy their dynamic. Declan is such a softie and Jordan is a goofball, so it's fun when I make them banter.
Lynn is adorable. I waited for so long for her line "I'll turn straight for them. Alright no, maybe bi." I fell in love with her the moment I came up with that line. Also she's lowkey the personification of you guys if you haven't already guessed in terms of ships.
Brennan is just a goddess. I love her especially for her conversations with Jordan on just putting him down.
I'm excited for Bennett's and Naomi's character arcs as well!
What is your favorite thing about TGGBB?
Your comments. Most of the time you need to calm down on your thirst comments but you all have such great feedback that show your passion whether it be from a witty, funny conversation or a serious bullying scene. I love it when you guys day you laugh so hard you spill your food/drink or the people around you consider the mental hospital. When you comment how you cried in those sad scenes, I hold that badge with pride as a writer. Thank you for your tears of joy, laughter, and passion everyone!
Besides that, I enjoy the plot so far and I'm excited about what's to come. I also enjoy how the chapters can be serious and hilarious- I love the free reign I have in this story.
Who do you ship?
I don't allow myself to answer this question because you would believe that will actually happen. I won't let my personal feelings affect the plot that much unless I believe it is the best thing to do.
Do I have a favorite ship(s)? Yes.
Am I going to tell you? No.
If you were to be in a relationship with any of the TGGBB characters, who would it be?
Nice try, but I can't answer that one either. If I say it, many would believe that would mean I will make Naomi with them.
Do I wish I'm in a relationship with a TGGBB character(s)? Yes.
Am I going to tell you? No.
What inspired you to create the gang plot? Will it be a major part of the story along with Nicotine?
TGGBB was from IASWAJ and the gang there was the Big Four. I thought it would be cool if the bad boys had their own gang to spice up the plot. Nicotine has a role in the story- that's all I can say.
Yes and no will the gang plot be a major part of the story. I see TGGBB as a complex book that has two plots. When you focus on bullying, the gang is the side plot. When you focus on the gang, the bullying is the side plot. I wanted this gang plot overall to be somewhat of a metaphor on bullying- allowing you to interpret however you'd like as well as including some more plot into the book.
What inspired you to introduce bulimia in TGGBB2? Will it be a major part of the story?
A few of you may have realized from the title of the book "The Good, The Bad, and The Bystander" that roles have shifted and Lynn is an essential character to the book. I enjoyed creating Lynn but I believed that I needed to include something to her character that will introduce a new aspect or perspective of things. I believe body image is a prominent stressor in people and want to introduce an aspect of self-bullying. Self-hate, unconfident, and anxiety should be acknowledged to move forward with this story and teach everyone about bullying. I hope you look forward to reading more about it in TGGBB2.
Will we learn why Raymond bullied Naomi?
Yes.
Will Raymond get a redemption arc?
Perhaps? He's growing on me especially with his dynamic with Dominic. Only time will tell though.
If you could have dinner with anyone in your book, who would it be?
That's kind of a tough one. I would say Naomi because we would have the most to talk about and we can enjoy the food together. In a dinner setting, with Declan and Bennett, it would be too nerve-wracking and Jordan would horse around. Lynn would be fun too, Dominic wouldn't say anything about himself, and dinner with Raymond is eh.
Did Bennett ever give the Starbucks manager the other $200 from the third chapter of TGGBB?
Bennett: Of course, I'm a man of my word. Jordan was able to get their address and I sent it along with a fruits basket.
Starbucks Manager: I'm indebted to the Frazier family for honoring this humble peasant such a gift.
Bennett: It was on sale...
(Fruits Basket reference *cough*)
Will Parker come back?
No. I'm actually still debating if I will keep him in the new version of TGGBB. I have reread some scenes though and I might keep him but change some stuff for the better.
In chapter 26 of TGGBB, Parker lost a teddy bear he named TD and a person who seems to be a gang member returned it to him. Is it important to the story?
I honestly forgot I ever wrote that part. I burst out laughing when I read it again. To an extent, yes they're important. We'll learn more in TGGBB2. Props to you for asking about that.
Does Naomi still check the Nerdy Naomi website like in the second book? If not, what happened to the website?
So the reason I created the website in the book was to introduce the topic of cyberbullying. I had actually planned to create an actual website so people can learn more about bullying and have some referrals to the book. I never got around to do it so it kind of went up in the air.
I wanted Naomi to create said website in the book with the help of Jordan. I don't know if I will put that back in the second book or not. We'll have to see.
What happened to Declan's biological parents?
Declan: (Shrugs) I heard they gave me up when I was born. Jordan has offered to track them down for me, but I told him he didn't need to. I already have my parents.
Are Cameron and Harvey ever going to show up again?
I reread the scene with them in TGGBB2 and I forgot how much I missed them. So yes, I'll find a way.
Cameron: (Shaking Harvey) Did you hear that? We'll get to live again!
Harvey: Yipee...
Did the boys all go to the same school before moving to Dartwell?
Bennett: I used to be the private academy Bentley is currently attending.
Declan: I went to the same school as this dunce.
Jordan: Who are you calling a dunce, dunce?
What does Bennett cook everyone breakfast when they stay at the base?
Bennett: Depends on what we have in the pantry or if anyone is specifically craving anything. I made pancakes, french toast, bacon and eggs.
What did the boys all get each other for Christmas?
Naomi: Jordan made me a pack of bookmarks, Declan made me a mixtape, and Bennett made me a Neapolitan cake.
Bennett: I got a non-stick pan from Naomi, Declan got me an apron and chef's hat, and Jordan got me an alarm clock.
Declan: Naomi bought me guitar strings when she heard I recently broke a set, Jordan made me a tuner but I'm worried it'll blow up or something, and Bennett made me strawberry pancakes.
Jordan: Naomi got me a charcoal art set, Bennett got me a permit for my next artwork, and Declan let me babysit Delilah with him.
Declan: And you should be honored.
Jordan: As well as a tub of vanilla ice cream. The harvest is bountiful and I shall survive another winter.
When are each of the boys (and Naomi's) birthdays?
I honestly don't remember if I ever really wrote it. Correct me if I'm wrong. I know Jordan is born in the winter, I would make Bennett born in the fall, Naomi in the spring and Declan in the summer.
Naomi: Bad author! I'm born on March 14!
Jordan: My birthday is on December 28!
Delcan: I'm born on June 7.
Bennett: I was born when September ends.
(Everyone looks at him.)
Bennett: September 30.
Also has Naomi, or will she, start sleeping with any weapons under her pillow like the boys?
Naomi: Jordan made me a taser to keep under my pillow. I'm too scared to ever try it.
Bennett: Don't worry, I'll buy you the best one in the market.
Jordan: You never used it? I built it with my own two hands.
Declan: That's probably why she doesn't trust it.
Do any of the Musketeers play Minecraft?
Jordan: Yeah. We made ourselves a Minecraft secret base which is way better than our actual one. We have a pool! Out of lava!
Declan: There's friendly fire!
Naomi: Tamed wolfies!
Bennett: I can cook in the game.
Can we get some spoilers about Bennett's future?
Haha no.
Bennett: That would be scary...
Who is "she" that Jordan mentioned in the first book? Will she make an appearance?
Telling you who "she" is won't be any fun for me. But she will eventually be a prominent character.
Who do YOU ship Naomi with?
I'm legally not able to say. (I'm kidding but seriously, not telling.)
Is Naomi ever going to find love again?
Of course.
Do you already know who Naomi will end up being with?
Yes.
Do you think that should be a TV series or movie? Would you like to have one?
I believe a TV series because a movie would be too short. But if I helped with the movie script, it could maybe manage. I write TGGBB like an anime because of some of the wacky stuff they do such as Bentley and Bennett's "rich people powers" and the overall humor of the book. And of course, I would love to have one. If any of you have connections, please reach out either in the Wattpad message board or my other social media dms haha.
Will the book have a happy ending?
Depends on your definition of "happy".
Are you planning to end the book anytime soon?
Nope.
Do you know how the second book will end? If so, do you think you will change it while your writing progresses?
To be honest, I don't know. I'm struggling with a certain part. I'm hoping I'll figure something out once I'm closer. Even if I do decide, maybe I will change it if I believe it makes the story better.
Would you consider making TGGBB a paid story?
I was offered to make TGGBB a paid story but I turned it down. You are now free to compliment me. I expect this to be the most commented part of the Q&A. Haha.
But being serious now, I really did. I thought about it for a couple of weeks before turning it down. TGGBB has a strong message about bullying and I want more people to read about it. However, I plan for the new version of TGGBB to be paid as well as any others offered. I would like to be compensated for my hard work I have put into the series, don't you think?
Will TGGBB2 be the last book in the series?
No.
