Continuation of the previous imagine:

Neil got out of the room as left Audrey's body to the nurses.

Audrey was dead. The realisation hit him. Neil couldn't sit and dwell he had patients he barely could get out to say goodbye to Audrey.

He went to patients one by one rushing some to surgery and treating the simple wounds in the E.R. only.

Melendez are you okay? Andrews asked.

I am fine. Why do you ask? Neil asks.

Audrey just died. Everyone knew about you both. You can take a break if you need. I will take over. He says

The hospital is already overflowed and it's an all hands on deck situation. I can't just leave cause my girlfriend died. Neil says.

As you say, Melendez. Andrews says and gets to other people.

People come in one by one.

Dr Melendez, we need you on this one. Shaun says as he comes in with a patient.

Neil quickly asses.

Rush her to O.R. 3. That's the only one empty. I will be right there. Neil says as he rushes up the stairs. On the way, he realises that's the one Audrey and Neil did their first surgery together. But he brushed it off.

When he saw the patient he was shocked. It was the same patient she was here for an appendectomy then. She was awake.

Hey, Emma. Neil says.

Dr Melendez? She asks.

Yeah. Neil says.

Where is Dr Lim?  you both had something. She asks.

Well, she died today cause of the earthquake. And yeah we had something. Now let me save you. Neil says.

Okay. Emma says as a mask is placed on her face to make her sleep.

Count back from 10. Neil says

10.....9..........8....... 7........6......5. Emma says.

How many fingers? Neil asks showing her 3 fingers.

56. Emma says and slips out of consciousness.

Neil laughed and they began the surgery.

Ten Blade. Neil says extending his hand for the instrument.

Soon the surgery is done. Neil scrubs out. And went out and updated emmas family.

Dr Melendez dr. Glassman told me to tell you all the people from the earthquake are taken care of. A nurse said.

Alright. Neil says.

He goes to his office and just calls Audrey just to hear her voice.

Dr. Audrey lim here. I am not available right now. Leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I see it. Please message me if it's urgent. Her voice says.

I also recorded it cause I knew her phone would be just thrown away or burnt and I wanted to hear her voice anytime I wanted.

I go to the parking lot.

Dr. Melendez, are you okay? Park asks 

The love of my life just died when I was the one that should have been there. I was tired so she  offered to go. And she died. I say.

Dr. Melendez it's okay. Alex says.

Yeah. Neil says and walks to his car and drives away to his home.

All the memories of when they first met rushed into neils mind.

Flashback of when they first met

Neil saw two girls staring at him when Dr. Glassman was giving them points for their residency. He walked to the girls.

Hey, I caught you both staring at me, I am Neil Melendez. He says laughing.

Audrey Lim. She says.

Stacie Williams. The other girl says.

Nice to meet you both. Why were you staring at me? Neil asked.

We just thought you looked like someone we know but your eye shape is different. Audrey says making an excuse.

Alright. Neil says and they continue listening to Dr. Glassman.

End of flashback.

All the memories were there in Neils mind.  When Audrey left Neil, when they first met, when she died. Neil turned the radio on to take his mind off. And history by one direction turned on. 

You and me got a whole lot of history. We could be the greatest team this world has ever seen.

This is not the end. This is not the end. They all sang.

(Sorry my directioner heart couldn't resist doing this)

But it was the end neil knew it. He entered his house.
