~Losing Her~
*Play Song*
"Aphmau..."
"Hey, Aaron."
Aaron's brain instructed him to pinch himself, to validate he was, indeed, in a dream, where he believed something like this could solely occur.
This isn't real. She's dead...she died.
....I watched her...
Obviously, it had been quiet for quite long enough as Roland chips in, inspecting the three's state of shock.
"It's um, well, clear, there is some serious explaining to be done. How about we leave you guys be, for the time being. We'll reconvene tomorrow at this time." Slowly, and reluctantly, everyone trickles out of the room, Laurence and Katelyn both in absolute frozen hysteria.
Well, their very dead friend was standing right in front of them so they should be permitted the room for warranted reaction.
This left just Aaron and Aphmau, Aaron's eyes cemented on the woman he believed to be the love of his life for so long.
"I-I don't..."
"Aaron...." Aphmau speaks his name, the word so onerous yet so natural, inching closer to her past lover.
"Y-you died. T-the explosion...I watched you." Aaron mumbles, everything feeling so surreal. His mind jumbled and incapable to comprehend the being before him.
"I know...I know." Aphmau responds, her profile so familiar but yet so alien to Aaron, as all he could discern in her was the car explosion from that night in the Tundra. (I know it's called Tundra Express, but I'll just be referring to it as The Tundra.)
Aaron turns around scoffing, crying out insignificantly as he pinched himself aggressively, scrunching his eyes shut as tears threatened an appearance.
"Aaron...this is real. Look at me, baby." Aphmau rests a reassuring hand at her lover's shoulder, Aaron regarding a slight peculiarity of her touch.
He swivels his head around to confront her once more, swiftly seizing the hand in question, noticing very quickly the contrast.
It was pure metal, an elite contraption of assorted joints and such dainty craftsmanship that was very rare in such a place as the Borderlands.
Imagine Bucky's arm from Marvel, but hella lot skinnier.
Aaron exhales once more, now it starting to hit him.
His gaze subsequently engaged hers, her other human hand resting at his wet cheekbone, which mirrored hers.
"It's you." Aaron whispers, his heart overwhelming with such a profound infusion of bliss and turmoil that his knees buckle weakly and they both find themselves on the floor, both trying to take in that the other is here.
Explanation or no, Aaron embraces the girl tightly, lamenting softly into her hair as she did the same to his shirt. He held her so firmly it was like he knew if he let her go, he might lose her again.
Have a nice day my crystals!
