As the group attempts to take a momentary breather after the semi-successful events of the Convoy Heist, a couple of brawny tricksters come to ruin the fun.
"Like hell, I'm gonna let them do something like that again." Travis snarls, squinting his eyes shut, to open them a second later to reveal inky jaded holes of darkness, a similar colored sword materializing at his right hand, charging out of the train car with a midnight aura.
"Ugh, as if I haven't expressed my distaste for these abominations enough." Lilith groans in annoyance, paying no mind to her wounded appendage as she swayed her arms in a circular motion to summon a luminous sphere of fire around her as she accompanied Travis into the battle.
The sound of combat echos through the air, everyone slowly starting to follow suit, even Aaron surprisingly standing with ease.
Aphmau combated the urge to tell him to sit this one out, but she knew she was really in no position to do so, thinking of their recent interactions. But her naked expression of solicitude gives off enough for Aaron to become skeptical.
"Aph....what really happened?" Aaron asks, feeling quite in the dark.
"You hear that?" Aphmau questions, simply ignoring his inquiry, tapping a suggestive finger to her earlobe. Aaron merely raises an eyebrow.
"That's the sound of despair...shall we join?" Aphmau then proceeds to answer her own question, as she stumbles promptly out the gaping exit of the convoy, Aaron with no other choice but to follow her, knowing she was hiding her hurt.
The battle was already well underway, the magical crew doing their part from the air as those on the ground finished the creatures off. Katelyn pants densely with determination steaming in her eyes, as she sprints towards one of the Male Bullymongs, catching the creature off guard with an inhuman leaping punch to its oddly shapen skull.
The Bullymong was busily occupied with Lilith's fiery orbs attack, which is remarkably effective against the beast's habitually shielding fur coat.
The Bullymong was succeeding well at dodging the Siren's attacks as if he had dealt with an alike threat previously, but Katelyn's notorious knocking was not something he had any experience with.
Firefist's action weakens his defensive stance for just a moment, which was enough time for Aaron to terminate the fiend with a collective amount of gunfire from his trusty assault rifle.
Once successfully sure the foe was dead, Katelyn, Aaron, and Lilith return to the others, who are dealing with the final Bullymong, this one clearly a female. It's distinct bone structure and shining silvery fur pelt masking a raging monster, but it's roars expressed more melancholy than hatred, most presumably about her fallen companions.
Travis sneaks an overt wink at Lucinda, who retorts with her iconic eye roll, her lips poised to utter the word: "No....." But she stops herself, before allowing out a surrendering sigh, nodding for the Demon Warlock.
"Fine.....but if we all die due to your idiocy, I'm blaming you...." Lucinda warns, before almost immediately syncing up motions with the shocked-white-hair-wonder, their arms jerking about violently, yet smoothly, their fingertips starting to gleam their according colors.
Then suddenly, their energies fuse together as if lightning struck, an awe-inspiring fusion of crimson red and navy blue shooting like comets around their battling comrades. Sometimes hitting the Bullymong from multiple angles.
Along with the witch and the warlock, the others broke into fighting character as they demonstrated their abilities. Laurence aims some well-placed bullets at the creature from afar as Roland and Aaron provided front-lines support from their assault rifles.
Lilith hovers from the air with the aura of a fiery Phoenix as Katelyn continues to try and land another round of destructive blows.
Then there is Aphmau, just insignificantly slower than before, still zipping with her duo daggers at the Bullymong's pelt, her robotic limb dealing extensive damage.
It isn't before long until the animal is defeated, but the fighters underestimate it's final strength as she lets out a final petty backhanded slap in Aphmau's direction, before accepting its death in a lifeless heap in the snow.
Aphmau also hadn't predicted such an action, feeling t-boned in the side as she is thrust aggressively toward the cavern wall, her petite body hitting the glacial rock wall with a horrifying crack, before the feathery snowdrift engulfs her limp figure.
She scarcely hears Aaron's voice calling out her name before her skull collides with the icy rock and the darkness consumes her.
Have a nice day my crystals!
