FLASHBACK-June 2006

Amanda Hillel had just turned eighteen when she got the letter. It was the same one that Andrew got. It was more than enough for their bandmate Alyson Baur to hold an emergency meeting.

"So why is this weird school contacting you?" Alyson asked.

"We don't know," Andrew replied.

"And it's from 2020?"

Amanda muttered, "I hope Doctor Who isn't a real thing."

Alyson crossed her arms. "This looks like that one fanfiction about us and Connect8 meeting some time traveler guy. And the same guy thinks some of us are these weird people from the future."

Derrick scoffed, "You mean the Eloi from The Time Machine."

"Whatever."

Amanda looked at Alyson. It was clear that if Alyson got the same letter, she would nope herself out of the entire experience. She may act like a tough queen of mean while wearing MAC lip glosses and pink miniskirts; but she was one who could get scared easily.

So Amanda slammed her letter on the coffee table, and said, "You know what? Andrew needs a friend. I'm joining him!"

FLASHFORWARD-September 2006/2020

Amanda groaned as she faced the school. She knew Andrew originally went to the school to ask for accommodations. Now he was actually going to attend this school. She rolled her eyes as she rolled her luggage inside, annoyed with his impulsive decision-making.

She noticed the students in the halls looked, well, not like those from 2006. They all had their own styles, but the influences were the 90s and early 2000s, but better. She looked at her own outfit. She was sure she screamed "2000s emo." Realistically, she would be thirty-two in 2020, but apparently she time traveled? I wonder what I'm like now as a thirty-something?

Amanda walked around, looking for the dean's office. As she kept walking, she noticed a guy with strange, long hair. He was pretty, someone she wouldn't see anywhere, except maybe on MySpace. Did humans start evolving in 2020?

She shook her head, keeping her focus on the dean's office. She found his door, but saw a woman standing next to it, like she was a guard or something.

"What's your business?" the woman asked.

Amanda replied with a question, "I have to see the dean? I didn't think that would be a big deal?"

The woman looked at her up and down. She then opened the door with a scowl on her face. Amanda rolled her eyes as she walked in. What's up with her? Why does she look like she needs a massive blood transplant?

Amanda sat down in front of a man. He said, "Her name is Sapphire. She's a witch, hence why she looks the way she looks."

Amanda's blue eyes widened at this. How much has the world changed?!

She was curious, but scared. Still, it was like she was dropped into both Doctor Who and Supernatural combined! It was scary, but it would definitely be an experience.

The dean handed her papers and a key. He said, "Your major is Young Adult/New Adult Drama. You are dismissed."

Amanda looked at what was given to her. She was with some group called Hummingbird, and was to live in the Delta house.

This is gonna be a long-ass month.
