ChapterSix
ChapterSix
Andrew and Cora danced at the school's dance. It was considered as a freshman dance event, despite the fact that Andrew was almost done with high school.
He looked at the girl he was holding. She was pretty, cute even. He heard she could only see gray colors. He figured she was colorblind to an extreme degree. He didn't ask her about it, as he wanted to respect her. Treat her like she was any other person, not someone special.
He eyed everyone else. He watched this strange-looking guy dancing with the older woman. He heard her name was Sapphire, and was another witch that had been around for centuries. He wasn't sure how that happened. Maybe she was from the future? Maybe people were enhanced and altered in the future? He wasn't sure, and he was too afraid to ask, let alone indulge in Amanda's conspiracy theories.
The strange guy was very attractive, though. He wasn't sure why, but he was. Then he eyed Gideon dancing with Lilly. They looked like a cute couple, reminding him of Bailey and Justin, the most stable couple within UTurn. He was more than sure they were married with children in 2020. The true definitions of high school sweethearts.
Then his blue eyes landed on the lone guy at a table. He was handsome yet strange. Something about him seemed off, and for some reason, that turned him on. I need to stop being into strange guys.
Andrew asked Cora, "Would it be okay if I danced with the lonely guy over there?"
Cora looked around, seemingly confused by his question. She asked, "I only see one guy at a table."
"Exactly. He's cute and mysterious. I kind of like that."
She raised an eyebrow. "You're into mysterious guys?"
"Powerful women and strange men are my preferences. Why? I have no idea, but I'm here for it."
Cora shrugged, "Sure. I mean, he is a bit cute."
"Then again, that guy dancing with the Sapphire is kind of hot."
"Any girls that caught your eye too?"
Andrew shrugged. "I like Alanna. She's cool."
"But who do you really want to dance with? As a romantic partner?"
He smiled, "The lonely guy."
"Go ahead."
Andrew sighed, "Cora, I see you as a friend. Sort of like a sister to me. I get it, we're both scared of a world filled with strange people. I'm sure Amanda is onto something with human evolution. But as long as we stick together and such, we'll make it out of this."
Cora smiled and gave him a hug. He hugged back, then pulled away to walk up to the lonely guy. He held out his hand, and asked, "Can we dance?"
The guy looked up, and said, "I don't really swing that way."
"We're in 2020. Apparently, gay rights have won. It'll be fine."
The guy's face turned a shade of red as he took Andrew's hand. The guy said, "I'm Michael."
Andrew smiled, "I'm Andrew."
He put his hands on Michael's waist as they slow-danced together. Andrew never danced with a guy like this before, but he liked it. He looked into the guy's brown eyes, moved to his lips. He wanted to kiss them, but he needed to respect Michael's wishes. So he just kept dancing slowly to the song, forgetting the world around him.

Amanda sat at her table, feeling bored than ever when she noticed this blond guy walking up to her. He looked like he could've been in Backstreet Boys he would make himself look like Nick Carter. The potential was there.
"Hello, young maiden!" the weird guy greeted her. "Why aren't you partaking in such a lavish event?"
Amanda raised an eyebrow. She asked, "Okay? I barely understand a word you said. And this event could be more interesting. It's boring."
The guy reached out his hand, and asked, "Would you like to dance, my fair lady?"
Amanda sighed. At least the guy was being kind. She took his hand, and said, "Fine, but please talk like a normal person. No one talks like that anymore."
The guy held her gently, clearly trying to act like a gentleman. Amanda asked, "So, what's your name?"
"My name is Gideon," he replied in probably the most royal way possible.
"I'm Amanda. Just call me Amanda. I don't need to be made like I'm royalty. I get that already from the UTurn fans."
Seemingly confused, Gideon asked, "What is a fan? What is this u-turn?"
Amanda blinked. It became obvious that this Gideon guy came from a whole other time period, once from the past. She couldn't tell from his accent if he was from England or not. She wasn't sure how to explain all the modern stuff to him. It seemed Alanna, Cora, and Andrew did.
She knew she was influenced by Alyson, but she had to do this. She gave a smirk to Gideon as she ready to show him 2006 pop culture.
