I nodded silently. I did not dare to look at her. {Now I understand why I feel so low.}

She: But you did not deserve it. You deserved a better life. A life that had love. You had to fulfil your desires and duties. You had to be a doctor. You had to treat many sick. You had to cure many from their sufferings. This was the reason why you were sent back to earth. And you got what you deserved …

I did not know how to react. {It is best to be ignorant than to remember such a painful past. Maybe I did deserve this colourful life …}

“Radha!”

Our awkward silence was broken by ma.

Me: Ma! I am Coming!

I shouted back and was about to leave; when I was pulled into a tight hug by didi. I felt like I was in my mother’s arms. It was like heaven. {What would I have been without her? I would probably still have been a lost soul, wandering somewhere in the world of the dead!} I felt a painful twist in my heart. It was short hug. But I did not want it to be short. I wanted to stay with her forever.

Ma: Radha!

I rushed downstairs to meet an excited ma.

Ma: Are you not ready still?

Me: Umm … I …

He: She must have overslept.

That is when I noticed him standing behind her.

Ma: But you have to leave soon.

Me: Where? Why? When?

He: Mom! It was supposed to be surprise.
He pouted. She bit her tongue.

Ma: Oops! Sorry dear!
She affectionately ruffled her son’s hair.

Me: Will anyone please take the trouble of letting me know about this ‘surprise’?

Ma: If we do that, it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore. Would it? So, take a shower and get ready soon.

I ran to our room. After a refreshing shower, I entered the room, clad in a towel. To find him sitting on the bed, should have made me yell at him and kick him out of the room. {Well, that was supposed to be my instinct. But I don’t know why I didn’t do that.} I simply stared at him. He looked up at me and gave a sheepish smile.

He: Actually it was Radha’s plan. She wanted the three of us to spend some fun time; so …

I was still standing there awkwardly. {Should I smile to show how happy, my didi made me? Or should I frown at him for making me feel weird?}

He: Get ready soon and come for breakfast. I will be waiting downstairs.

Me: Do I need to carry anything?

He: No need.

He went out of the room and I dressed in comfortable clothes.

I know this chapter is short.
I also know that it is awkward.

But, it is just a filler. Next chapter will be better ... I guess.
