Me: Why will I panic when you are with me?

He: An asteroid is fast approaching earth.

Me: So?

He: What so? Did you think it is a meteor? It is an ASTEROID a really huge one.

Me: What will happen then?

He: If it collides with earth, all living species will be wiped out of the earth.

Me: What?

He: Hmm ...

Me: But if it is such a big problem, why are we not warned?

He: Because, it is a confidential matter. We only confirmed it yesterday; the reason why I had to stay. Even NASA is unaware of it. But it can't be hidden for long. I am worried. If anyone comes to know about it, people will surely die out of panic. Chaos will rule over earth.

Me: How do you know that NASA is unaware? They have much better technology and network, than us, I suppose?

He: Yes. But they don't have me. (He winked with a smirk; and for a moment, I felt like nothing could ever trouble him) I mean, I was randomly observing the skies one day, when I noticed a very faint dot. I got interested in it and started assuming the distance of it from earth. At first it was a time pass for me as I considered it a kind of my hobby. But eventually I grew interested in this particular object, which had a peculiar pattern of movement. I could not believe myself at first. I don't know what to say, whether it was coincidental or accidental or fate or whatever. But I had to confirm myself first, for which I had to make use of advanced space technology. That is why I had been out and when I returned, you hurt your leg.

He gave a short glance at me. I remembered that event and blushed. I behaved foolishly. I was embarrassed. But he was staring back at the sky.

He: It took 1 year to confirm my assumptions. If we delay for another month, the NASA will find out.

He let out a deep sigh.

Me: What are you planning to do now?

He: Our first job is to keep this a secret from people.

Me: But you told me.

He: I trust you. How can I hide something from my wife?

I was glad he trusted me. But I was scared. {What if I break your trust? How long can I keep it a secret?}

He: Don't worry, we are planning avoid the danger ... kind of like sending a rocket to collide with it. In order to avoid any direct or indirect impact on earth, it has to be done as soon as possible; when it is far away from earth. All this has to be done secretly.

Me: But if you are to send a rocket, people will come to know.

He: No worries, we will plan it like we are sending a satellite, and later, we will say it went out of control and collided with some asteroid.

Me: This seems to be a very big responsibility.

He: Yes, a responsibility of saving the earth.

Me: I have complete confidence in you. You can do it.

He laughed.

Me: I am speaking the truth. I can bet my life on it.

He side hugged me.

He: Thank you.

Me: No, thank you.

He: Let's pray god for the best.

Me: What about dinner?

He: You did not have it right?

Me: But how can I have it when you did not?

He: Why so?

Me: I don't know. I just don't feel like myself without you.

He: Oh ... but you should have it. My hunger is mine; not yours.

Me: But my hunger is related to yours. Don't ask how. Even I am not hungry.

He: At least have this.

He handed me the tumbler half filled with milk.

Me: No. Half glass of milk is not enough for you.

He: I know. But since you have become my better half, after marriage, my tummy will be filled when you have the other half.

I blushed. He made me drink the milk. It tasted very delicious. I was surprised, because until then, I never liked having milk.

Me: I am sleepy.

He: You go have a good sleep. I need to pack my bag.

Me: For what?

He: I have to go on an unofficial tour, for a while. I need to sort this out right.

Me: Where?

He: It is a secret. But you will anyways come to know later.

Me: Fine.

Though I was sleepy, I could not sleep. I was tossing in bed restlessly. After a long hour, a pair of hands wrapped around my waist. I felt happy.

He: Shh ... baby. Don't get restless. Have a peaceful sleep now. You might not get this opportunity again till I return.

{I know. I can't sleep peacefully when you are not beside me. How will I manage to live without seeing you? I can't live for a day without you. Why do you torture me like this?}

He pulled me closer. I could feel my back touch his chest. Despite the storm inside me, I slept peacefully.
