"Do you understand everything, Mr. Schmidt?" The manager asked as I sat in my security office.

"I think so," I replied. "Just sit here, watch the cameras, and report anything unusual?"

"Pretty much!" She said with a smile.

"Hey, quick question," I said.

"Yes?"

"If necessary, can I leave this office to further investigate something suspicious?"

"Of course, as long as you have a legitimate reason."

"Great!"

She then looked at her watch.

"Well, it's almost midnight! Good luck!"

"Wait a minute!"

"Yes?"

"Don't I have to sign a contract?"

"A contract? What for?"

"You know, so you guarantee I don't do anything bad?"

"Mr. Schmidt, I can assure you that I trust all my employees. I don't need them to sign a silly piece of paper!"

"...really?"

"Of course!"

"Wow... ok, then! I'm ready for my shift!"

"Good to hear! Remember, if anything is not right, report it immediately before investigating. Got it?"

"Got it!"

"Alright! Have fun!"

"I'll try!"

She smiled and left the office. I could hear the front door open and close. A lock sound came afterwards. I was now officially alone here.

I was truly impressed with this place. The atmosphere was pleasant, the people were nice, and the office was CLEAN! It was truly remarkable. The best part was I had unlimited power! Not that it mattered; I didn't see a use for using the doors or cameras!

Suddenly, I heard a familiar chime. I looked and saw the clock rang 12 am. My shift started. I could tell that this time, I had nothing to worry about...that I knew of.
