A knock on my door broke me away from my Instagram.

"Whoever it is, just come in" I reply.

The door opened and closed and then the weight on my bed shifted. I look up from the screen to find mom looking at me.

"You kids these days are always into that thing! What is so enticing about that?"

"Mom just say what you want" I am right now suffering from boredom.

"Tell me what happened today? It was your first day in college right?" she inquired.

"Yeah nothing special, I and Liam shared four classes including English and I did classes the professors were good that's it"

"So you want to tell anything more? Like something before you entered the college?" she pressed on the matter.

"What do you mean? Nothing happened before" 

Is she suspicious of me? But then, what have I done?

"It seems to me that you're close to a particular someone in the family" she gives a hint.

Does she know about me and Arlo?

"I-I am close to everyone, like-like you, dad, Adrian, Cami and Tony"

"And Arlo?" she said.

"Ye-yeah"

"What is going on between you and Arlo?" she asked sternly.

"Me-me and Arlo? Um-huh no-nothi-

"Tell her Aurelie" a male voice interrupts me.

I turn around to find Arlo and Cami entering the room.

"Tell her, I told mum" he looks at me reassuringly.

I nod once and say:

"I and Arlo, well-um we're dating" 

"For how long?" she asked.

"For a few weeks" Arlo replied.

I was getting scared so I got off the bed and stood next to Arlo, where he placed a hand on my back as an assurance.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Cami asked, probably to both of us.

"I-I asked him not to say anything" I blurt out.

"Why?"

"Because she was afraid. Mum can we leave it now, I'm really tired and I think she is too"

"But how did you know?" I ask mom.

She wasn't supposed to know until I told her.

"Well when you went away for college after some time I and Camilla too went out for shopping purposes but on the way, we saw his car and the two of you kissing on the pavement, in front of the College gate"

Damn it!

Now they're going to tell that to dad and dad is going to...I'm dead.

"Fine take some rest" Cami said before gesturing to mom to go out with her.

As soon as they left the room I hugged Arlo.

"What if they don't let us be together?" I asked, burying my face in his arms as he hugged me back.

"Don't worry, we will be alright, nothing can separate us if we don't separate ourselves" he kissed the top of my head.

"Are you happy now?" he asked.

"Hmmm" I nod.

"Okay so I have some work now, I am going to my room"  he said, kissing my forehead and leaving the room.

I go over to the wardrobe and take out my swimsuit, goggles, cap and towel and head towards the terrace.

It's been way to long since I swam, that is I last went to swim two days ago!

I changed and jumped into the depth of the water, splashing some of it around.

The way the water surrounds me is just soothing.

I glide across the water, lapping from one side to the other. The pale moon reflected on the water, across my glistening body. There were lights available but I refused to switch them on, I enjoyed the silver light across the darkness even though bustling city lights with emitting from a distance. The silence, the peace was all I needed.

That night I didn't have my dinner, I wasn't ready to face them yet, so I decided not have dinner, even though I was actually hungry.
