"Adi, Jay," I run behind them as they start walking ahead of the group. We have just reached the hill station, and it is 5'o'clock, so our teachers are taking us towards the hotel compound.
And Jay and Adi are still not talking to me. I have tried on the bus too, but they didn't budge and continue to ignore me.
"Bas ab. Bohot ho gaya yaar. Kitna ignore karoge mujhe?" I run and stand in front of them. (It is too much now, how much will you guys ignore me?)
"Move," Adi says and tugs me to remove me from their ways.
I sigh and start walking silently beside them. I know it is my fault, and seriously, I am letting everyone down these days with their knowledge and even without their knowledge.
First, my parents, to whom I had been lying and doing things I am not supposed to do. Then, Jay had to stay as my friend even though we both have feelings for each other.
And now, I had let down both Adi and Jay.
"Boys and Girls, sit down in the garden till the staff arranges evening snacks. And stay in discipline," one of the teachers told us, making us nod.
Jay and Adi both sat on one of the corners, opposite each other. Adi is showing Jay something on his phone. Where should I sit? They both are still upset with me.
I look around for Sara and Aarav, finding them laughing about something. They both are finally getting the courage to confess the feeling, as I have noticed. And I am sure they are going to tell each their feeling before we go home. And it wouldn't be a good idea if I ruin it by third-wheeling.
Sighing, I move towards the water tanker. Taking out my bottle from the backpack, I put it near the tap to let it fill.
I shouldn't have changed my place. But then, Avni had to sit alone, and even Dhruv and Kunal wouldn't have let her sit beside them.
"It's filled," I look at Riya with a confused look.
"Bottle, it's filled," she points at the bottle.
"Oh, thanks," I smile at her and close the tap before taking my bottle.
"Where are you lost?" She asks me as she fills her bottle.
"Huh, nothing," I reply, putting the left out hair from the pony behind my ear.
"Sure," She looks at me suspiciously before nodding.
"Chal by," She smiles at me and goes with Nisha as she calls her.
I take a sip from the bottle and look around the scenery. I can see the mountains in all four directions. And as the sun is close to getting set, the sky is coloured in orange and yellow.
The scenery is almost perfect. It is amazing. Only if Jay and Adi are with me at this moment, this moment would've been perfect.
Heck. I am going to make Jay and Adi talk to me. They are not going to ignore me. I have to try harder and smarter.
Determined, I look into my bag and take out a box that contains Gajar ka Halwa.
I smirk evilly and move where Adi and Jay are sitting.
I sit between them, "Helloooo."
They both, as expected, ignored me.
I open the box and smell it, knowing Adi is looking, "I have made Gajar Halwa for the first time today in the morning. And it is so tasty. The smell, Ahhh."
I see Jay shaking his head at Adi while Adi is looking very intensely at the box in my hand.
I take out the spoon and take a bite from it and make a noise, "Wow, I should become a chef in future. It is so tasty."
"I hope I don't finish it now only," I say, smirking as Adi wet his lips.
Jay shakes his head once again at Adi, who ignores it.
"Adi, do you want to taste it?" I put the box in front of Adi's face, making sure that he can smell it.
"Adi, no," Jay says, shaking his head which is once again royally ignored. Poor Soul.
I smirk when Adi takes the spoon from my hand and slowly put it in the box. Taking some Halwa in it, he hastily takes a bite.
I wiggle my eyebrows at Jay, who has put the face in his palm at their failed planned.
He groans but still didn't talk with me.
"Jay, will you not taste the Halwa that I had made the first time?" I pull my lower lip and blink my eyes so my face would look sad.
He looks at me for a split second before groaning and snatches the box from Adi.
"Don't finish it, monkey," Jay says as he takes a bite.
"Tune Kaise bana Liya?" Adi asks me as he and Jay continue eating. (How did you make it?)
"Youtube. Mumma was also shocked that it turns out good because last time I had tried red sauce Pasta, let's say after one bite, I had not eaten it," I say, chuckling at the memory.
"It is tasty," Jay says, taking one more bite, making Adi scowl.
I grin at them, making Adi snickers. "It is not that great," he says.
"That's why you are not letting me eat," Jay says as he tries to snatch the box.
Keyword: Tries.
Adi didn't let him have the box, making me smack him.
"Give him too, monkey," I say, making him frown.
"Here," Adi puts the box in between, "But don't take too much. Last time she has also eaten all the Halwa."
I roll my eyes and look around at the same time when Rudra and Avni come towards us.
I move closer to Jay as they both come close. I don't know the reason, but I am not feeling comfortable around Rudra these days.
My instinct goes on alert mode whenever Rudra is with me. And I feel my gut feeling telling me to keep a distance from him, which is hard, because he is a good friend. And, he always tries to sit with me.
"Hey," Rudra sits beside Adi and Avni beside him means she is also sitting beside Jay.
Jay shifts slightly closer to me, making my arm to touch his. I feel the same butterflies in my stomach that I do whenever we touch.
Even if we are not a couple now, I still feel all the emotions that I used to when we were together. The feeling is not getting decrease a bit, and it is getting hard for me to maintain these 'friends' things.
I come out in the real world when I feel someone stare at me. I look at others and found Rudra smiling at me.
I return the smile forcefully and look down at the box, which only has a small portion of Halwa left.
"Jay, did I show you photos from the bus? Here," Avni comes close to Jay and hold his arm while showing him the photos.
I frown when Avni giggles at some funny photo and put her head on his arm.
I take a deep breath and look down when Avni whispers something in his ear while sitting very, very close to him.
I don't like this. I don't want Avni to sit close to Jay. They both are making me irritated.
This feeling is not good.
"Ahh, I think the staff is giving the tea and snacks now," I say, looking as the Sneha Ma'am comes out along with Malviya Sir and Mr Hitler.
I look at Avni, who is still sitting very, very close to my Jay.
"I am going to get food, bye," I say and get up why Adi and Jay are looking at me weirdly. Of course, if it would've been another scenario, I wouldn't have even got up. I love being lazy. But today is not the same.
"I will also come with you," Rudra says.
But before he can get up, I say, "No, you sit here. I will be back in a second."
And without looking at Jay and Avni, I move away from the garden to the compound.
I stand there for a while, seeing the line.
I think through all the moments. Avni touching Jay's arm and then, putting her head on them.
And some other moments too. Rudra always trying to sit with me, Jay replying weirdly to him.
And in the end, I know what a big mistake I had made.
