The Temple of Jupiter is the wealthiest and most influential in all of Lindensea, and the High Priest and Priestess wield a great deal of power, temporal as well as spiritual. Backed by the establishment, those who hold the highest offices must attend the temple as part of their duties, no matter what their personal spiritual affiliation.
Everyone is expected to celebrate the high feast days and the festival of Jupiter each year, and during times of crisis, the entire population will turn out to offer their prayers and sacrifices. Thursday is the day of the week chosen to pay out government pensions as a sign of the god's mercy to the humblest in the kingdom, and the shops stay open late that evening in his honour.
Worship of Jupiter has long been merged with that of the Tirathic god Taran and the Saxon god Thunor, both deities of thunder and lightning.
