Iron Man 2: Only One Part
It has been a month since the fight with Anton and since Miguel's discovery of Spiderwoman's true identity: Gabriella O'Hara.
When he first learned the truth, he almost fainted that the fact his daughter fought a real terrorist. She explained to him on how she got her powers and Neith introduced herself to him, and then that's when he fainted.
The first few weeks was a bit awkward for the two, but then Miguel got used to her crime-fighting career. However, he's been all over, every time she came home, he always fussed over her, even tiniest bruise would send him in a spiral.
Now, he was able to find time to spend with his kid. They both got exclusive tickets to Stark Expo. She was over the moon, because she was able to see the new tech that would help people.
It was now the evening, and the expo was in full swing on its last day. They met new people, saw cool things, and got lucky enough to get the front row seats of the audience to see the showcase that would happen.
She was hoping to see Tony Stark himself, but instead it was Justin Hammer.
"Really? This guy?" asked Gabriella and Miguel agreed with her.
Jazz music was playing, and Justin Hammer was dancing on stage as people were applauding him.
"Yeah! That's what I'm talking about," he said, and he came closer to the audience. He then started his speech, "Ladies and gentlemen, for far too long, this country, as it deploys it's brave men and women in harm's way. Then the Iron Man arrived, we thought the days of losing lives are behind us,"
Gabriella muttered, "The Iron Man suit shouldn't be in the hands of the military."
Justin is still speaking, "Sadly, that technology was kept out of reach. That's not fair. That's not right. That's just too bad."
"Life's not fair dude," muttered Gabriella, though she was not quiet enough that two women next to her heard her and chuckled a little. She heard them and she meekly said, "Sorry."
"Regardless, it was an impressive innovation, one that grabbed headlines, the world over. Well today my friends, the press is faced with someone with quite a different problem. They are about to run out of ink," he spoke, and he laughed at his own joke, but Gabriella was sorely disappointed.
Then two backstage people took away the stand and he cleared his throat, he took a step back and announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, today I present to you. The new face of the United States military. The Hammer Drones!"
Then he showcased the drones as the stage was bringing them up, there was the military music playing in the background and announced them one by one.
"Army!"
"Navy!"
"Air Force!"
"Marines!"
Gabriella looked in concern, she mutters to her dad, "Something feels off about those drones..." and he agreed, "Yeah, those things look like they could be controlled by anyone..."
Justin was celebrating on stage as everyone was applauding him. Then he said, "That's hell of a lot better than some cheerleaders let me tell you."
Then he continues his speech, "But as revolutionary as this technology is, there will always be a need for a man to be present in the theatre of war."
He then makes his second announcement, "Ladies and gentlemen, today I am proud to present to you the very first prototype, the variable threat response battle suit and its pilot Air Force: Lt. Colonel James Rhodes!"
The stage then revealed another iron man suit, but it was grey, it was far bulkier than Tony Stark's and it had a huge gun on the back. Rhodes saluted and the rest of the drones saluted as well, so did Justin.
"For America and its allies, Hammer Industries-" he was interuptted by a loud rumbling. Everyone turned and saw that it was Iron Man; Tony Stark, flying in. Everyone stood up and cheered for the billionaire.
He stood next to Rhodes and waved to the crowd, then Gabriella leaned to her dad, "Dad, I'm going to go to put on my suit something doesn't seem right."
Her dad said, "Yeah, go, if Iron Man is here fully suited, then there might be some trouble." She stood up and then said, "I'm going to go to the bathroom," and her dad responded, "Don't fall in," jokingly. They made a couple scripted responses in order to be safe so nobody could tell that she was Spiderwoman.
She ran to the bathroom, "Neith, it's go time," she said to her goddess. Neith nodded, and Gabriella activated her suit. Then she heard explosions, a ton of explosions, she quickly got on her phone and saw a text from her dad, "Don't worry I got out in time, now go kick their ass!" and she replied with "Will do!"
She put her phone away and ran back to the auditorium. She saw Rhodes and an army of drones flying after Iron Man, "Well, I can't fly," she muttered to herself. Then she saw the same two women going to the backstage, then she had a thought, "Maybe they know what's going on."
"Hey! You two!" she ran over.
"Spiderwoman?" asked the blonde, she nodded and asked, "I'm here to help, what's the situation?"
"That's what we're going to find out, follow us," said the red-haired lady. Spiderwoman nodded and followed the two to the backstage.
They hear one of Justin's men, "He's locked us out of the main frame."
Then Pepper Pots, who Gabriella just recognized, asked, "Who's locked you out of the main frame?" As the two women go up to him with Spiderwoman in tow.
"Please, please, go away, I've got this handled," said Justin.
"Have you now?" demanded Pepper.
"Yes, I do," says Justin then blames Tony, "In fact, if your guy hadn't showed up, this wouldn't be happening, so please now go away. Thank you."
The red-haired woman storms to the man and slams down to the table, with his arm behind his back. Pepper shrieked, but Spiderwoman could only say, "Woah... So cool..."
"Tell me who's behind this," demanded the lady, and she repeated again, "Who's behind this!"
"Ivan, Ivan, Ivan Vanko...," said Justin.
Then she asked, "Where is he?"
He answered, "He's in my facility."
Then Pepper took out her phone, "I need NYPD please, command central, ok right away, right away," she then demanded Justin to step aside, Spiderwoman moved up next to Pepper to make sure Justin doesn't do anything.
Then she asks another guy, "Ok, tell me everything you know." Then the red-haired lady went up to Spiderwoman and says, "Spiderwoman, with me." She was about to say something, but the lady interrupted, "It's to do with Vanko."
"I- Ok, then," said Spiderwoman. The two then walk off to the exit and they meet with Happy, Tony Stark's driver.
"Nobody's answering the phone, what's going on?" he asked.
"Man, I already asked that question" quipped Spiderwoman, Happy looked at her and then asked, "Why is Spiderwoman with you?"
The lady ignored the questions, only demanded, "Get in the car, take us to Hammer Industries."
"I'm not taking you anywhere!" refused Happy.
"Fine, you want me to drive?!" retorted the lady.
"No, I'm driving," said Happy.
The lady looked at Spiderwoman, "Get in," she said, and Spiderwoman said, "Normally I don't trust strangers, but who am I to tell," she joked and got into the passenger seat.
As they raced to Hammer Industries, the lady, who sat in the back, was changing. Spiderwoman saw Happy taking a peek, she was about to say something, but then she said, "Car." The car in front of them honked and Happy swerved a little, "Tried to warn ya," quipped Spiderwoman.
The lady said, "Watch the road," and Spiderwoman said, "Yeah, watch the road." Then she asked the main question, "By the way, who are you lady?"
"The names Natasha Romanoff," she answered, and Spiderwoman said, "Ok, nice to meet you Ms. Romanoff."
They make to the facility and the three stepped out of the car.
"Stay in the car," ordered Natasha.
"I'm not staying in the car!" refused Happy.
She orders him again, "I said, stay in the car."
Happy asked and then said, "What are you wearing? Look, I'm not letting you go in there alone."
"Hey, she won't be alone, she's got me," said Spiderwoman and pointed her thumb at herself.
"She's right, she's the right backup I need. Besides, if you want to help, then keep the car running," said Natasha. He reluctantly said, "Ok," and went back to the car as Natasha unlocks the door and heads in, followed by Spiderwoman, but they didn't notice Happy following them.
She then sees Natasha kicking everyone's butt, taking them down with her skills and some tools too. Spiderwoman got her confidence and webbed up some of the guards, and she webbed one guy and pulled him closer to herself and punches in him in the face.
All while, Happy took on another guard, and still kept fighting with the same one. Then the two ladies see a group of five coming at them.
"Ok, so you take the ones on the left, and I take on the ones on the right?" suggested the spider hero. Natasha ignored her and threw some sort of device that electrocuted all of them at once.
"Well, it seems I was not need there for a moment," muttered Spiderwoman, a little disheartened that she was not given the chance to show more of her skills. Natasha and her walk past them, until the red-haired woman casually pepper spray another guard's face. The spider's eyes widen, and she thought "Better not mess with her."
Happy finally defeats the guard and says, "I got him!" all while giving a small smile. Spiderwoman giggles at that. Then the three finally reach Ivan's room and the spider kicks the door open, "Hey buddy, I thin-" she was about to announce, but she stopped because she saw no Ivan.
Natasha says, "He's gone." and Spiderwoman quips, "Well, that's not good."
Then the lady put down her guns, and starts typing rapidly on the nearest computer. Spiderwoman and Happy ask at the same time, "What are you doing?"
Natasha answers, "I'm rebooting Rhodey's suit." Back at the expo, as Rhodey's suit was about to shoot Tony's, his suit shuts down, "Reboot complete, got your best friend back," she informs.
"Thank you very much, Agent Romanoff," says Tony on the comms and Spiderwoman says bewildered, "Wait, agent?!"
Tony heard her voice and asks, "Um, who is that?" and Spiderwoman answers, "Er, it's Spiderwoman Mr. Stark, sir, um, big fan of you. Shoot, I don't know what else to say."
Natasha ignores the exchange and comments, "Well done on the new chest piece. I am reading significant higher output, and your vitals all look promising."
Tony responds, "Yes, for the moment, I'm not dying. Thank you."
Pepper's image appears on the second screen, next to Tony's, "What do you mean you're not dying? Did you just say you're dying?"
Spiderwoman does her best not to laugh, "Got caught," and Natasha looks at her.
Tony answers, "Is that you? No, I'm not. Not anymore."
Pepper asks, "What's going on?"
Tony answers, "I was going to tell you. I didn't want to alarm you."
Pepper asks with slight disbelief, "You were gonna tell me? You really were dying?
Tony defends himself, "You didn't let me."
She asks, "Why didn't you tell me that?"
He answers, "I was gonna make you an omelet and tell you."
Spiderwoman raised her brows in question, "Should we even be listening to this? Because this feels very awkward. Plus, I feel like this is a really bad time for having conversation like this."
Natasha agrees, "Yeah, save it for the honeymoon. You got incoming Tony. Looks like the fight's coming to you."
Spiderwoman observes the computer as she sees the multiple bogeys coming at Rhodey and Tony, now that they got the Colonel's suit back.
She sees the drone's signatures go out one by one, until she sees another coming at them, "Hey Ms. Romanoff," she tells Romanoff, "That one looks a little weird."
"Yea," she agrees and informs the two iron men, "Heads up. You got one more drone incoming. This one looks different. The repulsor signature is significantly higher."
They overhear Vanko's voice, "Crap," muttered Spiderwoman. After the huge fight between Vanko, Iron Man, and Rhodes. They defeat him. But something was off.
"I think those drones are set to detonate! Is everyone out!" asked Spiderwoman, and Natasha says, "Yeah, I think everyone's safe."
"So does that mean I can go?" asks the spider heroine. Natasha nods and she runs off and swings home.
She gets home and crawled through her window. "Dad! Dad! You home?!" asks Gabriella, making sure her dad is safe.
She hears him, "In the kitchen!" and she sighs in relief. She goes to the kitchen, and he asks, "You, ok? How are you feeling?"
"Great, couldn't have been better, but it was wild." she then starts telling her side of the story.
