Chapter 11: Good luck to the Marrying couple
Sookie had left ahead of them as they went to get ready for Arlene and Rene's party. Adele had pulled out old clothing from her golden days. Savannah went to change in her outfit. Savannah put on a simple yet beautiful look. A knee-length black dress that almost looked see-through and her pointed jimmy choos before walking over to her dresser to put on her jewelry.

She dumped her hair out the clamp that was holding her hair before brushing it out as it fell in soft curls. Once she was finished, she went to see Adele, who stared at herself in the mirror, looking at herself. Feeling as anxious as she could. She hoped Earl was watching over her. A knock made her look over as she looked at Savannah, who leaned against the door, looking at her friend with proud eyes. The girls looked at each other's outfits. Adele wearing a dress that Earl used to love on her. Her hair fell in curls as they admired her.

"You look beautiful." Savannah tells her as she brushes her hair to the side with a beautiful smile as they stare into the mirror together. They stayed like that for a bit before leaving the house in Savannah's impala. Savannah drove to the busy Merlotte's, where everyone celebrated with the soon-to-be couple. Once parking the car, she looked at her friend and saw how nervous she was.
"You ready?" Savannah questioned. Adele looked at her friend before replying, "Yes, let's go."
Savannah nodded before they both got out, going around the back. Their heels and wedges clacking on the stoned pathway.
Third's Pov: (Before Adele and Savannah come)
Everyone was dancing, eating and drinking. The marrying couple danced as they only focused on each other. Arlene started talking as they danced.
"Honey, let me set a spell. I'm sweating all over this dress." Arlene laughed as René spun her around, pulling her back to him. Arlene looked over to poor Sookie, whose mood was quite down due to Bill being gone.
"What, you won't dance with me? That's a fine thing at your own expense." René responded as she joked, following her look at Sookie.
"Go ask Sookie to dance. The poor thing's got nobody here. Everyone's afraid of her. I don't even know if her aunt and Gran are coming. Go on." Arlene says she felt bad for Sookie before she sent Rene over. René walked over to Sookie, who was sitting in a chair, looking at everyone having fun.
"You look lonely as a cloud. Ain't right." René tells her as she looks up at him. He places his hand out as she places her hand in his as they walk to the dance floor.
"Why, thank you, Rene. Arlene is a lucky lady." Sookie thanked him. They started to sway to the music.
"Not everyone likes a coonass like me." René voiced as they swayed.
"I do. So does Bill." Sookie replied as kind as always.
"I don't have anything against vampires, you know that. But you're a good girl, Sookie. I think you deserve better." René told her before Sam came over.
"Mind if I cut in?" Sam said as Rene handed her over before walking away. They swayed to the music before Sam started talking.
"Okay, truce? It's not fair that you're mad about something I can't help." Sam states this as they dance together. It wasn't his fault; he was born a shapeshifter. He could only hope Sookie could understand.
"I'm mad that you didn't trust me enough to tell me. You hid the most important thing about yourself." Sookie tells him. She had a right to be mad, she thought. Her aunt had opened a large space for her. The supernatural was the least of her worries. But for one of them to be right near her, her friends and her family. Someone she thought was a friend disappointed her.
"So what? You're with Bill now." Sam retorted.
"Yeah, and you're with Tara. Another thing you didn't tell me." Sookie remarked. Sam stared at her. She was acting like we were ex-lover, he thought. It shouldn't matter who he was going with. Sookie just wanted to be friends.
"There's nothing to tell about." Sam snapped. His voice wasn't loud, but it mellowed.
"Oh, does she know that? Or the fact that you can turn yourself into a dog?" Sookie questioned it before clacking, and everyone turned to see who it was.
Her aunt and grandmother stood there.
The allure of the women pulled everyone in as they stood there, looking around. Savannah found Sookie's eyes before she grabbed Adele's hand and walked over.
"Sam Merlotte, what an amazing party you got here." Adele says that her speaking sounded the same with a soft chin in her voice. Sam tilted his head like a dog; no pun intended. He stared at the woman as he looked her up and down, wondering who she was.
"Do I know you?" Sam asked.
"Come, let us talk." Adele says, leading him away. Savannah turned to look at Sookie.
"You've found out, huh?" She stared at her nose.
"You knew?" Sookie asked her aunt.
Savannah pointed to her nose.
"Senses. I could smell him when we spoke. They all have different smells. His is bearable." Savannah stated. They watched Adele talk to Sam, who looked shocked. Adele must've told him who she was.
"What do he smell like?" Sookie asked curiously. Savannah looked at her.
"Why do you want to know?" Savannah stared at her.
"No reason, just curious." She responds.
"Clean. Woody, cologne, and soap." Savannah replied.
Sookie hums. Savannah looked around and saw Jason with his boys. She saw a girl with him before She left. She patted Sookie before walking over. Hearing Rene's last statement,
"So, this is it? She's the one who's going to take Jason Stackhouse off the market for good?"
"Jason Stackhouse, Off the market?" Savannah chimed in. The boys looked to see her with standing there.
"Auntie Savannah, hey." Jason got up to hug the woman really tight. Almost sniffing her scent as they hug. Hoyt looked at Rene, who looked back at him. Savannah could almost smell the blood in his veins.
"You got a girlfriend now, Jason?" Savannah teased.
"Just someone I'm talking to." Jason waved off. Hoyt looked at Jason with almost bungling eyes.
"She's really pretty." Savannah complimented.
"Thank you, Auntie." Jason says this before she walks away from them. He could only watch longingly at her.
"What the fuck." Hoyt says.
Next scene (At the table)
Savannah and Adele sat at the table with Sam. He was still amazed at the woman who sat across from him. Adele was a stunner, and he wasn't lying about that.
"So you can change people's appearances?" Sam asked.
"When at full power. I can." Savanah stated this with their empty plates in front of them.
"Well, you have always been a beautiful woman but looking at you now. You are stunning." Sam complimented Adele, making her smile.
"Thank you, Sam." Adele thanked him.
"No problem." Sam nodded.
"Sookie found out about you." Savannah started.
"She did. She wasn't happy that I didn't tell her." Sam told them.
"Well, sweetie, you have to look at it from her perspective. She has known you for years, like she has known everyone else. You both are friends, though I know you have a big crush on her. She has to deal with many things with people looking at her crazy because of her mind thing. She's just looking for someone who might understand her at least." Adele spoke to him. Now that Sam realized he always got mad at her, sometimes when she knew what he was thinking. He hated that sometimes she would poke just because, but he now understood. She wanted someone who was different from her. That is probably why she depended on Bill. He was the different person that she needed.
"You're right." Sam says nodding.
"Just talk to her. And talk to Tara. Don't string her along when you know you don't have feelings for her." Adele added with a look on her face. Adele may not be Tara's mother, but don't think for a second that she'll let her babies get hurt.
"Yes Ma'am." Sam said before getting up, only to be stopped by Andy. They walked away from the table.
"Don't mess with mama Adele." Savannah joked with a smile.
Adele laughed. And that's where they spent their time. Drinking and talking before a commotion got their attention. Lafayette and Jason yelling at each other.
"I told you to keep your goddamn mouth shut."
"Hey. This is my good shirt. And yeah, I kept my mouth shut."
"My supplier. He gone. He fucking missing. If other vampires find out I been selling, the same shit is gonna... You understand? The same shit is gonna happen to me."
"You got nothing to worry about."
Adele gave Savannah a look making Savannah walk to them, almost gliding to them, stopping Lafayette from hitting Jason again.
"Now, what the hell is going on here?" Savannah stepped in. Lafayette doesn't answer her but said his last peace to Jason.
"Bitch, you think life is just this one fucking game that you always win no matter how many dead folk are piling up around you. Maudette. Dawn. Your cat Tina And I tell you one fucking thing: I ain't gonna be next, bitch. On my mama, motherfucker. I ain't gonna be next. Fucker." Lafayette remarked before walking away. Savannah turned towards the boy as he stood there stuck.
"Jason, what did you do?" Savannah asked. Jason finally looked at her.
"I can't tell you. I'm sorry Auntie. I'm sorry." Jason whispered before walking away.
"Could it be?" Savannah looked after him.
She could feel the vampire blood in his veins. She hoped he wasn't going down that route. She looked towards where Lafayette left, before going back to Adele. She was going to figure out what the hell was going on. By the time she came back, Sookie was sitting down next to Adele.
"Is Jason alright?" Adele asked her as she sat down.
"He's fine. Just upset. Whatever fight him and Lafayette had." Savannah replied.
Arlene had come towards them, smiling to Savannah and Adele before looking at Sookie.
"Honey, you seen Sam. We're out of ice." Arlene asked Sookie.
"I'll get it. I could use break from all this anyhow. I'll see you late r Auntie and Gran." Sookie walked away to get ice.
"See you later." Adle said before Savannah got up.
"I'm coming too." Savannah got up as she followed her niece.
"Aunt Savannah, you don't have to follow me." Sookie said as they went inside.
"You'll be fine. I don't trust this town enough to throw it." Savannah said as Sookie headed into the kitchen to get the ice. While Sookie got the ice and Savannah waited at the bar. The lights shut off. Savannah look around as she heard Sookie call out,
"Hello. That's not funny. Savannah, where are you?"
"I'm still up here, waiting for you. Are you okay?" Savannah called out as a familiar bracelet glow with as her silver dagger came out.
" I'm fine." Sookie stated before her mind was invaded by flashes of memories.
She has a vision of a woman being strangled.
"Hide okay. I'll deal with this." Savannah called out as Sookie went to hide. She was attacked by the man as they fought. Savanah kicked him in his face as he howled in pain. She had left a cut on his neck. As it bleeds like crazy, her succubus form came as her fangs pierce his skin causing him to scream. Sookie was hit with another vision.
She has the vision of the woman, dead.
The man threw her off before running off, Savannah grabbed Sookie 's hand as they rushed to the door. She returned to her human form before she saw Sam, who was about to walk in.
"Sookie, it's me. Sookie. Hey. Hey." Sam says as Savannah let Sookie rush in Sam's arms as he tried to calm her down.
"He's in there. He almost... If Savannah wasn't there, I don't know what would've happen." Sookie tells him.
Sam looked at Savannah with curious eyes before wanting to check for himself if it wasn't for Sookie calling him back. Savannah watch with watchful eyes as Sam gave her a nod before she left once she assured Sam would take care of her. She walked over to Adele, who was dancing with Hoyt, who didn't know it was Adele. She interrupted the dance.
"Sorry Hoyt, we have to go." Savannah tells him with a wave before dragging her away. Hoyt could only wave back as Adele sent him a smile and a wave as they left.
