Ch. 12: Girls Day/Looking for the Murderer
When she heard Sookie and Sam walk up to the house, she was in the kitchen with Adele. They were making snacks and laughing as they talked about the old times. Adele playfully hit her as she brought up the time when she had her first lesbian experience with her. Savannah laughed at her friend, who sported blushed cheeks.
"Savannah," Adele called out, hitting her softly.
"What? You did great. I was surprised Earl was so cool with it." Savannah smiled before she heard the sound of Sam and Sookie talking.
"So, Savannah, let you move to her house after Tina."
Sookie nodded. "After Tina died, she wanted us to stay here just in case the murderer came back."
"That's good that your family has someone looking after you," Sam said as they walked to the door.
"She's very protective over us," Sookie stated before the door opened, showing Savannah smiling at the two.
"Well, well, looks who is home," Savannah said before she motioned for them to come in.
"After what happened, I just wanted to go home. Thank you for protecting me, Auntie." Sookie gave her aunt a small smile.
"That's why I'm here." She smiled before Sookie headed up the stairs to change her clothes.
"Come, Adele and I are making snacks," Savannah tells Sam as he follows her to the kitchen. Adele stood at the counter in a two-piece pajama set as she placed a grape in her mouth before drinking some wine.
"Hey Sam," Adele says as Sam nods to Adele. He'll have to get used to the younger version of the older lady. Mrs. Adele was a bombshell in her younger form.
"Hey, Mrs. Adele," Sam said before he excused himself to call Tara.
"Adele, your sexiness is capturing all the men." Savannah joked with a laugh.
"Oh no. I'm not." Adele shook her head. Her head was still in the clouds about Earl.
"I know Earl would want you to live your life," Savannah told her friend as she hugged her. She knew Adele missed Earl when he went to rule in Niall's place after he left.
"I just can't let him go," Adele whispers into Savannah's shoulder.
"Well, once you're ready, I'll be your wingwoman." Savannah cackled before Sookie and Sam came into the kitchen.
"I had to put those clothes in the wash. It felt like the killer was all over me. Watching me, hating me, itching for a knife, a rope, or my neck." Sookie said, dressed in a tank top and shorts.
"You didn't get any sense of who it was?" Sam tells Sookie, who looks at her aunt.
"No, I didn't, but I think we all know him. He's been around us. I bit him, and my knife cut him on his arm. We just have to see who has new scars." Savannah said as she spread a peanut butter and jelly mixture on a saltine cracker.
"No, just pictures. His thoughts were all red, black, and snarly. But there was something familiar." Sookie carried on after her aunt nodded.
"Like somebody from Bon Temps? Or somebody from the bar?" Sam questioned. Between her and Savannah, he wondered about the Stackhouse family.
"No one I could recognize for sure," Sookie replied as she was handed a cup of wine by her Gran. She took it, taking a sip.
"Look, I think we should call the police," Sam suggested. Sookie looked at him like he was stupid before Savannah replied, And what would she say? "Sheriff Dearborne, Andy Bellefleur, She saw a woman die. She just had to be in somebody else's brain at the time."?
"Did you get a good look at her? I mean, what was she like?" Sam asked Sookie.
"Young and pretty with an apron," Sookie answered.
" Apron. You mean like a mom?" Sam asked again. Savannah made funny faces at Adele with all the questions he was asking Sookie.
"More like a waitress." She responded.
"Was there a nametag?" Sam questioned.
"Maybe," Sookie guessed.
"Yeah," Sam answered. Savannah refilled her cup with the rest of the wine before getting another bottle. They moved themselves to the livingroom, sitting down as Sam questioned Sookie about the memory. Savannah sips her wine as they spoke before Sam left. The girls watched Tv together as they laughed at the screen. The party completely forgotten.

(For Adele)
(For Savannah, but she's not wearing the jacket right now.)
Adele cooked as Savannah and Sookie sat at the table. Biscuits, orange juice, and milk sat on the table while bacon and eggs cooked on the stove. Sookie looked through the phone book before Sam walked inside the mansion. As he walked towards the kitchen, his nose smelled the breakfast that was being cooked.
"Good morning," Sam called out.
"Good Morning." They responded. Savannah watched Adele, who happily cooked breakfast, humming softly as she did so. Sookie looked up at him.
"Tara call?" Sookie asked him, slightly worried for her friend. She knew that Tara could take care of herself, but that didn't make her any less of a worrier.
"Not yet. Probably still sleeping it off." Sam guesses. Adele put the finished food on the table, gesturing for Sam to sit down.
"I'll tell you what, I am sick and tired of waiting around to get strangled. The longer this killer is out there, the longer it's a danger to me and Gran." Sookie told Sam.
"Not if we find him first," Savannah tells her.
"Maybe we can look for a clue about the killer. What do you last remember, Sookie?" Adle asked her as they ate the food.
"The girl, I say. Her clothes, the apron, were a uniform. She was a waitress, and there was a tag. Her name was Cindy. And the restaurant's name was something about pies. Party Pies or Patty Pies?" Sookie spoke before Sam helped her.
"Wait, you mean Big Patty's Pie House?" Sam says this, making Sookie nod.
"Yes," Sookie said. Savannah looked over at Adele before speaking. "Ain't that the place that Earl liked so much? Off I-49, a way south, near Bunkie."
"That's the place. We haven't been there in so long; remember their sweet potato pie?" Adele remembered it with a soft smile.
"I do. We used to take a pie home and get drunk." Savannah laughed. As she drinks her orange juice.
"You guys don't have to come with me," Sookie said to them.
"Yeah, I do. So eat up, so we can go." Sam says.
"We haven't been to Big Patty's in forever. So we are coming." Savannah smiled at her niece.
"Fine," Sookie tells them before they finish eating so they could leave.
Next Scene: Big Patty's
Savannah, Adele, Sookie and Sam walked like women and man to the Big Patty's restaurant. Sam opened the door, watching as each lady went in. Savannah holding Adele's hand as they went in and went to the counter as an older waitress came to them. Sookie asked the waitress her questions as the waitress answered.
"No, ma'am, no, sir. I don't know any, Cindy. But I can recommend the fried apple pie, the frozen Hawaiian pie, the chocolate pecan praline pie, the chess pie, and the seven-layer Jell-O pie." The waitress said with a nonchalant tone.
"They'll have the peanut butter pie and the Spunky Hollow honey pineapple pie. Please, Harley." A man says as he came before she started walking away, only for Savannah to stop her.
"Scratch that, Can we get two sweet Potato pies and the fried apple pie to go, please." Savannah said with an alluring smile.
"Of course, ma'am." Harley walked away in a daze. She looked back at the man and the gang before shrugging.
"What?"
Savannah shrugged before they spoke with the man.
"You won't get nothing from her. She's only been here two weeks. Comes from three generations of dumb as rocks. Hell, they named her after a motorcycle." The man Buster said as his tag showed his name. Her and Adele looked at each other, shocked. Damn, he didn't have to say that.
"That's really interesting, but..." Sookie started because what did that have to do with what she was asking her?
"If you want to know anything about Cindy Marshall, I'll talk to you. And I'll eat that pie too. Buster Boisseau." Buster said this before Savannah grabbed his hand.
"No, you will tell us the information, and you will continue on with your day and forget us." Savannah said as he looked at her. They found a booth before sitting inside. Adele and Savannah were sitting behind them, but Savannah could still hear them as they talked. Adele looked at her friend.
"You used the mind thing. You are serious about this pie." Adele was almost laughing as Harley brought them their pies, as she could feel the heat ravaging them.
"Thank you," she tells Harley, who walks away.
"Well, it's our favorite. Especially it's on dear old Buster's salary." Savannah smiled as she listened to Sookie's conversation.
"You knew Cindy?" Sookie asked as she stared at Buster.
"A little bit. Let's see, I met her two years ago. She moved into town with her brother a couple of months before." Buster started before pausing.
"Before what? Sam questioned.
"Well, I hate to be the one to tell you, but somebody m*rder*d that little gal. I just choked the life right out of her." Buster continued.
"Poor thing. Did they find out who did it?" Sookie sympathized.
"Nope. It's a mystery." Buster added as he leaned forward.
"Where's her brother? Could we talk to him?" Sookie questioned Buster.
"Don't know how. He was gone by the time they found her body. The police thought maybe he's dead too or maybe he killed her. But there wasn't no evidence one way or the other." Buster carried on.
"What was his name?" Sookie wondered.
"Let me think on that. Nobody hardly knew him. Let's see, D something. Dave. Drew. No, Drew. Drew Marshall." Buster answered.
"What was Cindy like?" Sookie asked, wondering about the girl's death.
"Oh, cute as a button, a little wild, fun-loving, always nice to me. But people talked, you know." Buster whispered to them like it was the biggest gossip.
"Talked about what?" Sookie questioned.
"Vampires. They say she was carrying on with the vampires. I didn't believe her. I mean, what kind of woman would do such a thing?" Buster whispered. Sookie and Sam looked at each other.
"Well, it's not much." Sam says as they watch the man get up and walk away.
"We got a name," Sookie says, hopeful.
Savannah and Adele got out of their seats before facing them.
"We have got the name. Maybe the police know something." Savanah says before Her and Adele lead them away, this time the elders will handle this.
Mean while on the road: Next Scene: Rene's Pov/Third's Pov
Hoyt, Jason and Rene stood by their work cars as they spoke to each other. René sported a long sleeve to try and hide the cut that burned slightly from the knife that Blue Bitch had. Her bite burned, making him scratch it sometimes. Jason and Hoyt had asked him about it. He just said he had an allergic reaction to a mosquito. Jason joked that he was probably with a vampire woman. He had almost come out of his character. He was no fang banger hussy like his sister, Like Dawn or that other woman.
"What do you mean, no? Y'all pussies? Let's go pound some beers." Jason remarks with a slight anger.
" Can't. Mama's night blind, and I gotta take her to a baby shower in Shreveport." Hoyt tells him with a shake of his head.
"Night blind, my ass. She's got these apron strings wrapped around your throat, boy. Cut her loose. Come party with the menfolk." Jason said it with disgust. Since Amy made him mad, he just wanted to hang out with his brothers and his friends.
"I wanna go, Jay." Hoyt backtracks with a sigh. Hoyt already made a deal with his mama to take her to Shreveport, and he was going to do it.
"What you gonna do at a little baby shower?" René asked as he subtly scratched the bite that itched.
"The food's good, and the games are fun. You know, like Pass the Orange? And if the ladies start screaming like they always do, I'll just go for a little walk." Hoyt shrugged like nothing was wrong.
"Well, that's just plain sad." Jason shook his head before turning to Rene and saying, "It's you and me, brother. We'll play some pool; I'll buy you a po'boy." René shook his head at him before speaking, "Sorry. Me and Arlene, we got a date to dance."
"Well, I'll come with you." Jason decided. René looked at Jason; although he was his friend, the guy was clingy at best.
"You won't. It's a date, I said. Me and my woman." Rene spoke.
"All right, fine. Fuck it. I'll party on my own." Jason was stressed as his puppy dog's eyes showed how stressed he was. After what happened between him and Amy, along with what happened with Eddy,. To say Jason was traumatized was a long shot.
"What do you want with us when you get Amy? God, she's good-looking." Hoyt looked at Jason, who looked like he'd blow in any second.
"Well, I'm going to tell you something, but you can't say nothing to nobody. You got that? Amy likes V." Jason rested his hand on his hips with a sigh.
"Vampire blood? No, I don't believe that." Hoyt said it in disbelief. He didn't believe it.
"It's not a joke." Rene questioned. Another fang banger.
"Nope," Jason answered.
"Then you gotta help her stop. That's it. Set her straight." Hoyt tried to tell his friend.
"I'm trying, you know, but she's hooked or something. There's only so much I can do." Jason responded. Amy has been like an addict to vampire blood since Lafayette came to him. Snap him back to reality.
"She sleeps with vampires too." Hoyt asked.
"She says she never did. But these days, it's hard to find a woman who ain't been bit." Jason tells them.
"Do you love her?" Hoyt asked him.
"Yeah, but I don't like this V shit. We had a terrible fight. She might be gone already, and if she's not, maybe I ought to dump her." Jason continued. The boys nodded.
"Man, don't do that. She's the kind that you keep." Hoyt was the kind boy he was.
"Look, you didn't even try to work it out yet. So tomorrow night, we go out, get drunk, and have a good time. We'll figure out what to do." René commented, hoping to make the younger man feel better. He was still his friend at the end of the day.
"Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks." Jason thanked them.
"Okay." Rene nodded.
"Hang in there, bro." Rene patted Jason on the shoulder.
"All right." Jason's sad eyes looked at them before Hoyt and Rene started leaving.
"Okay. These things have a way of working out, you know?" Rene said.
"I hope you're right." Jason sighs again.
"All right. Night." Hoyt says before Jason relied on a night before they left.
Next Scene: Police Department
Savannah and Adele walked in, catching the attention with Police officers up front, before Sookie and Sam followed them through. Savannah and Sookie could hear his thoughts.
"Can't call it adultery if a wife won't have sex. At least Debbie's a Christian."
"Sir?" Savannah says, waving her hand in front of the officer, who stares in his thoughts.
"Give him a second. He doesn't think so quick." Sookie told her Aunt with a look.
Savannah huffs before snapping her fingers in his face, making him blink his eyes before they refocus on the women and man before him.
"Yeah," the officer says.
"Hello, officer. Sir. I'm sorry to bother you." Adele says with a pure smile.
"No bother. No bother at all. I was just..." The officer said it in a daze.
"Tom's coming up to that T.C. on Terra Ridge, about 5 miles out."
"Are those vampire bites?" The officer asked.
"With all due respect, sir, that's none of your business." Sam called out in defense of Sookie.
"Sir, we're looking for information." Adele cut back in, trying to lessen the tension between the two.
"Yeah, well, that's what the library's for." The officer tells them.
"It's about Cindy Marshall's murder." Savannah cut in with a straight face.
"What about it?" The officer says this in defense.
"Well, there have been murders like hers in Renard Parish. Bon Temps, to be exact. Hadn't you heard?" Sam said, looking at the man.
"Can't say." The cop deflected the question.
"She had a brother, Drew, we were told." Adele says to the officer, who's eyes roam her face and her body.
"Damn, maybe I'll just leave Debbie for her. She's sexy."
The officer looked abruptly at the hand that took his as she used her siren powers.
"We just want the information. You will not look at this beautiful woman. You will go on about your life and break it off with Debbie, and you will give your wife the loving and caring space she deserves." Savannah says it with a hiss. The man nodded, scared. He wasn't going to get laid again. Fuck. Adele looked at her best friend like she was used to it, while Sookie and Sam looked shocked at her.
"Do you have a picture of him?" Savannah asked him.
"We don't know he did it. More likely a vampire." The cop responds.
"I don't mean to tell you your business, but a vampire wouldn't kill by strangulation." Sookie tells the cop.
"Well, I guess you'd know. Good riddance to white trash is all I have to say." The cop tells them. Savannah's sharp claws were held to his throat.
"One word like that, and you are gone." Savannah tells the cop, who looked at the woman, scared.
"He can say whatever he wants. It doesn't bother me a bit. Just hand me a picture of Drew Marshall, and I'll go away quietly." Sookie tells her aunt, but she keeps her aunt's claws up.
"Well, that file's in storage. It's going to take a while to get it, probably months."The cop raised his arms.
"Maybe we should visit Debbie. I'm sure she has a lot to tell your life." Adele's expression changed from the beautiful one that she had.
"You... how did...?" The cop stuttered.
"And the Vampire League of America will surely want to know about your attitude." Savannah smirked at him as she retracted her claws.
"Now, now, hold on a minute now. Hold on now. I can't just give you the photo. What I might do is fax it on down to the sheriff in Bon Temps." The cop looked at the two women, scared.
"Don't worry, I'm sure they will be happy to hear from a concerned ally." Savannah smiled.
"Fast." Sam added, looking between his elders with a smile.
"Right away." The cop went to go look.
"That's all we ask. Thank you so much for your cooperation." Sookie says this before they walk away.
Next Scene: Driving home
Savannah and Adele slept in the back seat as their pies sat beside them. Sookie looked in the back seat as they slept. Sam looked through the rearview mirror. They was amazed at the elders, who showed their prowess while talking to the officer. Sam and Sookie spoke while doing the carride. Savannah rested her head on Adele's shoulder as Adele petted her head while she was sleep. Sookie wondered how her Gran could be so comfortable like that. They looked like children in the backseat after a hard day.
Next Scene: Fangtasia
With a newly-made Jessica, Bill was in the office with Eric Northman. Oh, how he hated Sherieff number 5. Jessica sat on the couch in his office as Bill hoped Eric would take Jessica. Jessica whines, acting like the child that she was. While he and Eric spoke.
"This is your punishment, not mine. What am I supposed to do with her?" Eric tells him in his montone voice.
"Excuse me. I can hear you, Mr. Rude. I want to go to the bar. I want to be one of those dancers. Oh, I'm hungry." Jessica says like a child as she looked at Eric.
"It was your idea to take Savannah's punishment since she was the one to kill Longshadow. She won't listen to me. It'll take more time than I have to teach her obedience." Bill tells Eric, pointing at her as she lick her tongue at him.
"I don't obey anybody. Those days are over." Jessica remarks to Bill as she crossed her arms.
"You know the danger that Savannah will be in if they find out she's awake. For someone who have fire still burning for his human's aunt, you would think to protect her. You can't handle one little girl, Bill? Newborns can be like this. Man up, my friend. She's not even one night old." Eric remarks to Bill, who stared at him.
"That is not the issue." Bill said to Eric as Eric turn to look at Jessica, who look at him.
"Want to stay with your maker, don't you?" Eric asked staring at the girl.
"No, he's a dick. dick, dick, dick. You're cute. Can I sit in your lap?" Jessica says as she stood up. She hoped he would let her sit on his lap.
"No." Eric stated making Jessica mad.
"Why? Nobody lets me have any fun. Fuckers." Jessica huffs.
"Sit down and shut up." Eric said making her start to do that before he pointed to the opened door as they could hear music in the bar.
"Close the door." Eric said making her slammed it before sitting back on the couch. Eric turned to Bill,"You have to be tough with them or they'll walk all over you."
" I am well aware of that, but you can see how she is. And there are urgent matters to which I must attend." Bill spoke. He had other things to do then attend to a vampire that wouldn't follow his command.
"Sookie Stackhouse? Haven't you done enough for her?" Eric questioned.
" If any harm were to come to her because of my absence, you would be..." Bill started.
" What?" Eric leaned forward at him.
"... without her helpful skills." Bill goated.
"Why would I worry about her? I can always asked Savannah. She can read minds too. Sookie is just Sookie but Savannah is a whole another ball game." Eric smirked at Bill who huffs at him.
"Who's Savannah?" Jessica questioned.
"She's worse." Bill replied before Eric stood up.
" Jessica, how would you like to learn how a real vampire feeds?"Eric leaned down to her.
"Oh, yes, sir. Please, sir." Jessica pleaded making Eric look at Bill.
"See? It's really quite easy." Eric smirks with his arms behind his back.
Next Scene: Stackhouse Mansion
Savannah and Adele slept upstairs while Sam and Sookie downstairs looking at Tv. The plasma screen tv put the HD in well HD. Sookie started speaking to Sam as they watch.
"It sounds strange under the circumstances, but I had a good time today." Sookie says as she played with her hands.
"It's the company." Sam tells her with a soft smile.
"Must be." Sookie smiled back.
"I mean, that says something for us. We can enjoy ourselves even when we're trying to find a murderer." Sam said.
"You are fun. It's one of the reasons I'm still working for you." Sookie agreed.
"Your Gran and Savannah. I never knew that was one of her powers." Sam stated.
"I haven't really heard more about her powers, but she's very powerful." Sookie tell him while looking at the Tv.
"You know what? It was probably the best day of my life when you walked in looking for a job." Sam mentions as now they was facing each other.
"Quit." Sookie blushed as he looked at her.
"No, I mean it." Sam smiled back.
" I know you do." Sookie cover her face before Sam pulled her hand down. She looked at him as this time she wasn't looking in his head but the heart of the man in front of her.
"Are you looking in my head?" Sam asked.
"I'm looking in your heart." Sookie replied before her and Sam kissed before the door slammed open. Bill finally came in. Taking in the sight before him as they quickly pulled back. Bill rushed at Sam as they started fighting. Sookie tried to get in between the two before she was move away by Savannah, who appeared. Adele move Sookie away as Savannah got between the men. Her arms open between them.
"Not in this house. You will not bring that in here." Savannah tells them.
"He attack me." Sam yelled.
"He was touching Sookie" Bill shouted back.
"She's not your property." Sam shouted at him. Savannah hadnd went up to quiet him.
"Adele take Sookie and Sam to the kitchen while I talk to bill here." Savannah tells Adele before pulling Bill outside.
"How dare you come into my house and attack a guest." Savannah shouted at him.
"I only ask him Savannah to watch her while I'm gone. Not try and replace me." Bill tells her.
"But still you should've spoke to her. Sam Merlotte is under my roof. You know how I'm am with guest rights. She is not your property. She's human. You are being to obsessed with my Niece. You will not come here anymore unless Sookie or anyone is in trouble." Savannah said as he called her name as she went inside. Bill sped off, not liking such dissappointment from Savannah.
Savannah closed the door walking into the kitchen, where Adele sat with Sam and Sookie as they notice her.
"Bill is not to come over unless you are in trouble. You need to talk with Bill. For him to play with guest rights tonight is a no go. " Savannah says.
"Guest Rights?" Sam asked.
"Guest Rights is very important to Savannah due to her lineage. For a guest to be killed or anything to happen to a guest results in the killing of that house family. That's why she acted that way. To attack a guest is to attacked the main family. Her family has neverd played with guest rights since then. For the family to be killed for a attack upon a guest is disheartening. Even if they didn't have anything to do with it." Adele explained as she gave tea to Savannah with a rub on her shoulder.
"But it's the 21st century." Sookie says.
"But still guest rights has been instill into my brain since I was a child." Savanah blew on the tea as she sips the tea.
"Oh wow and bill knew this." Sookie questioned.
"He knew. He knew a lot." Savannah says before silence over came them. Sam told them that he had to leave and thanked them for the tea before leaving. Adele 's phone ringed as they sat in silence.
Adele answered as she listened to the person that spoke before shouting, " What?" When?"
"No way! Okay thank you." Adele hung up.
"They arrested Jason as the Murderer." Adele says looking at her friend and grandaughter. Savannah and Sookie looked at each in shock.
"What the fuck!"
