Cole's POV (10 years old)

I was running through a forest. My right cheek and neck were throbbing. ' What did I do to deserve this?'. I thought while looking behind me.

I went to sit down against a tree to catch my breath, but I ended up crying. I put my head in between my knees and cried. I was tired and I didn't know where I was. I was new to the Woods family, but my step brother Calvin did not want me there, so he ended up punching my face and strangled me.

"Hey, are you okay?" I heard someone say. I looked up and saw a pretty little girl with the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. Somehow, that seemed to calm me down a bit. I shook my head and she ended up sitting next to me. I talked a while with her. I found out that she also ran away from home. She asked me my name and I told her. I felt tired and fell asleep, still not getting to know her name.

I woke up in my room, but will always remember the pretty eyes I saw on the pretty girl from the forest. I wonder if I'll ever see her again.

What was her name?
Dang it! I didn't catch her name!

Pretty girl with the violet eyes it is then.
