IV. Writing, Drinking and Falling
(All rights to the song belong to Halsey)
McKenzie's POV
He buys three cases of Dr. Pepper, two boxes of Cookie Crunch, one box of chocolate chip cookies, and three bags of Doritos, and drives home.
How did he know I love all of those things?
We park on the street in front of the building and he carries them all in. I unlock the door, and he sets it on the counter, and grabs my song book off my side table, and some pencils, and two other notebooks, and forces me onto the couch.
"What. Just happened." I ask, as he opens a Dr. Pepper, and gives it to me.
"You. Are going to sit here and write and study your script. I. Am going to be reading my script for Cap 2. Have fun." He leaves, and I laugh, and grab the script out of my purse, and sit back down.
I grab a notebook, and a pen, and start brainstorming.
*Five Hours Later*
I flop my head onto his bed, as he laughs at me.
"What did you come up with?"
"Thirteen songs." I mumble, and turn onto my back. He grabs it, and notices the difference.
"How much paper did you waste?!" I start to chuckle.
"A whole journal and half of that one." He glares at me. "What?! At least I wrote. I like this one in particular." I pull the notebook away, and flip through. I find it, and start singing.
"Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so
You said your mother only smiled on her TV show
You're only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope
I hope you make it to the day you're 28 years old
You're dripping like a saturated sunrise
You're spilling like an overflowing sink
You're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece
And now you're tearing through the pages and the ink
Everything is blue
His pills, his hands, his jeans
And now I'm covered in the colors
Pulled apart at the seams
And it's blue
And it's blue
Everything is grey
His hair, his smoke, his dreams
And now he's so devoid of color
He don't know what it means
And he's blue
And he's blue
You were a vision in the morning when the light came through
I know I've only felt religion when I've lied with you
You said you'll never be forgiven 'til your boys are too
And I'm still waking every morning but it's not with you
You're dripping like a saturated sunrise
You're spilling like an overflowing sink
You're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece
And now you're tearing through the pages and the ink
Everything is blue
His pills, his hands, his jeans
And now I'm covered in the colors
Pulled apart at the seams
And it's blue
And it's blue
Everything is grey
His hair, his smoke, his dreams
And now he's so devoid of color
He don't know what it means
And he's blue
And he's blue
Everything is blue
Everything is blue
Everything is blue
Everything is blue
You were red and you liked me 'cause I was blue
You touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky
And you decided purple just wasn't for you
Everything is blue
His pills, his hands, his jeans
And now I'm covered in the colors
Pulled apart at the seams
And it's blue
And it's blue
Everything is grey
His hair, his smoke, his dreams
And now he's so devoid of color
He don't know what it means
And he's blue
And he's blue
Everything is blue
Everything is blue
Everything is blue
Everything is blue" I finish, and he claps.
"Lemme guess. Your ex?" I laugh.
"Hell yea. He was a druggie, and his family was worried about him. But he wouldn't listen. We dated for about three weeks before he decided to cheat and then lie to me. Just like my entire romantic life. Without the drug part." I say, and sigh. "Sorry for the backstory." I get up and throw the notebook on the couch. I clean up my mess, and get my script and close my door.
Chris' POV
I frown and go into the living room and grab the notebook and her keys. I drive back to her manager's office.
"Who are you seeing?" The receptionist asks me.
"Christina Alister." I say, and she gives me a look
"Name?"
"Chris Evans." I tell her, and a huge grin appears on her painted face.
"THE Chris Evans?" She asks, and I nearly throw up.
"Yes. Please. It's urgent." She frowns and calls.
"Twelfth floor last door down the hall." She hangs up and I walk away. I take the elevator and knock on her door.
"Come." I open her door, and she looks up at me.
"Hello, ma'am." She nods, and I sit down.
"You're the man that was with my daughter earlier. How is she?"
"Good. I have a notebook full of songs she wrote today. I kinda forced her." She smiles, and I hand her the notebook.
"You are good for her. Make sure you keep her with you. Are you her boyfriend?" I wish.
"No, just a good friend and roommate." She smiles.
"For how long?"
"A couple days on both."
Holy crap, I wanted her to be my girlfriend already?! And its only been two days? Why?!
"Ohh wow. That's impressive. Well, I will let you go back home. Have a good day.
Now to get her to work on everything else.
