Slavery In Tevintar was a common practice. One such slaver was a Magister by the name of Danarius and had a slave called Fenris. The elf had been the subject of several experiments inviting Lyrium, this gave him a unique mage-like ability despite him not being born as a mage. When Danarius had finished his experiments on Fenris, who was now 15, he treated him like his favourite slave though Fenris felt more like a pet. He had even brought him to visit his other Magister friend called Cardin. It was during one of these visits that Cardin had been especially eager to show Danarius something. Taking the two to a small cell he unlocked the door and when he opened it Fenris's eyes widened slightly when he saw a small girl sat on the floor scratching pictures into the walls with her long claw like nails. She was pale, her hair was black with silver whisps. One of her eyes was red and was normal but the other eye looked like a dragon with scales all around her eye and the scales ran down her neck across her body were random patches of scales. Her nails were sharp as claws and her teeth were just as sharp.

"This is my beautiful creation," Cardin introduced, making the girl look up suddenly. "The Quanri have a theory that they were bred with dragons years ago so I thought why not make the theory a reality. I used blood magic to merge her blood with dragon blood, as you can see she now has resemblances to that of a dragon, although the blood might have done something to her mentally" Fenris was just looking at the small girl who looked out of it.

"Where did you find them?" Danarius asked.

"Oh, their parents were just some poor elves who needed some money, I offered to buy their daughter to be my slave and they gave her to me." Fenris looked down glaring at this news but didn't do anything. He had secretly been planning to escape that night as he now had a plan but now he didn't want to leave this child alone. Due to this he decided he would alter his plans for when he could get the girl out as well. This meant he was trapped being Danarius's slave for another year, all this time Danarius's friend would come over with the girl who had become amazed by Fenris and his markings, tracing her finger in the pattern on his arm. Usually, Fenris hated anyone touching him let alone touching specifically his marks but for her he would put up with it. After that year Fenris had memorised the guards patterns once Danarius and Cardin had gone to bed. Once he was sure both Magistars were asleep Fenris slipped out of the room he was being kept in and snuck to the cell rooms that the girl was being kept in. He found the key where he memorised Cardin hiding it and unlocked the door where he found the girl sprawled out across the mat that was left on the floor for her to sleep on, her mouth wide open as she lightly snored making Fenris smirk slightly. He shook his head remembering they were on a time constraint so he quickly walked up to her and shook her awake. She soon came to and rubbed her face, her eyes barely open.

"Huh, Fenris? What are you doing here?"

"I'm getting us out of here" he said gently pulling the small eight year old to her feet she groggily shook the sleep from her head and followed after him. After running through the maze like halls Fenris and the young girl soon made it the outside world. The older elf making sure they slipped passed the guards undetected he let out a sigh of relief when they had exited the grounds. Now they just had to get out of Tevintar. However, when he turned around to tell the girl the plans his face paled seeing she was not behind him. The sound of guards yelling about the escaped slaves made his stomach drop. He wanted to stay and find her but it wouldn't help either of them if they were both recaptured. With a heavy heart Fenris sighed and ran.

Meanwhile, the young dragon elf had been distracted by a colourful insect that had landed on her nose. So much so that she had let go of Fenris's hand and chased after it. She didn't realise that she had made her way into the city, the sun in the sky replacing the moon, before losing the insect. She wandered the streets for what must have been a few hours before sitting down in a small alleyway not sure what to do. She didn't want to return to her master but she didn't have anywhere to turn to. A shadow over her suddenly blocked out the sun making her look up and she saw a young boy who must have been the same age as Fenris. He had short black hair and had a staff strapped to his back.

"well hello there, aren't you a unique thing" this made the girl give the stranger a grin.

"Thank you" the stranger smiled.

"what are you doing out here alone?"

"I just left my master" she said rather bluntly still with a smile on her face. This made the man look down at her in shock, actually taking in her appearance he reached into the bag that she hadn't noticed he had with him he knelt down and handed her a slice of bread.

"Here, eat this" she took the bread and ate it, her eyes lighting up as though it was the best thing she had ever eaten.

"Thank you mister!"

"Please call me Dorian" He said with

"Do you have a name?" She tapped her chin thinking.

"Well my master used to call me Slave, Experiment or creation" Dorian frowned at hearing this.

"Well I think I'll call you something nicer. How about," he thought for a minute. "Nuri?" she pondered on it for a minute before nodding.

"Yeah, I like that name."

"Well, come on Nuri"

"Where are we going?"

"I can hardly leave you on the streets now can I?" he gently picked her up carrying her under one of his arms making her laugh. Once he made it to the city centre a elder man walked up To Dorian eying Nuri.

"Dorian, what is that thing?"

"oh, well I saw that a family was moving so they were selling slaves for little to nothing so I got her."

"but what is she?"

"She's an elf, a unique one of course" the father grumbled slightly but sighed.

"Fine but she is your responsibility"
