I requested Zeus to stop not far from an abandoned area from the former original Jurassic Park, a place in which the Velociraptors thrived and those looking for a death wish entered. I made my way through the trees, only to be greeted by the site of four furious Velociraptors ready to launch a full scale attack on a man who was protecting a young girl and woman. The man, whose bravery was exasperated through his courage to lay down his life, was trying to protect them with an injured leg he could barely stand on. The leader of the Velociraptors charged.

Without warning, I dashed out, grasping a branch and wedging it in between the strong jaws of the Raptor, using all my strength to force it backwards. Zeus growled softly, ready to strike. A raptor attacked from the right, throwing me into the ground at a violent pace and biting deeply into my right side and soon my knee. I stifled a scream of pain and kicked the raptor away harshly. Trembling, I could no longer move without agony, and the raptors began to close in. "ZEUS!!!" I finally yelped. Emerging wildly from the trees, he let out his thundering roar. The Velociraptors roared and spread out, ready for a fight. Zeus wrapped the three screaming people in his tail, placing them in the branches of a high tree, and one by one, each raptor was killed, with the leader fleeing while barely clinging to life. Zeus turned his attention to me, gently pushing my feet to get me to move. I grabbed a snapped branch, very slowly rose to my feet and used the branch as a walking stick, my limp causing excruciating pain every time it hit the ground. I shakily breathed in and looked up.

"Z-Z-Zeus.....h-help t-them down" I stammered weakly. He waited patiently for them to step onto his nose after much of their reluctance and gently lowered them onto the ground.

"I cannot thank you enough" The man spoke, helping the two ladies with him down very gently.

"I-It's o-okay" I forced a smile through the pain. As I went to fall, he caught me and held me up by just under my shoulders.

"You took that attack for us" he whispered in shock

"I-I'm o-okay-"

"No, you're not....Sarah, do we have a first aid kit?" He fussed around.

"Z-Z-Zeus.....h-home" I whispered, barely within consciousness. He grabbed the three strangers with his tail. Two screamed, the man calmed them. Zeus lowered his head and I held onto his nose. He walked slowly back to our home, dropping me inside first, then the strangers. I used my walking stick to get to a chair I had in the back corner.

"Y-You m-may want t-t-to move" I breathed shakily to the strangers. As they walked towards me, Zeus climbed into our rock home and curled up, allowing us room at the back but enough so he couldn't be seen from the front

"He listens to you" The older of the two ladies whispered, fascinated.

"I a-adopted him w-when he was b-but a few d-days old" I smiled softly, grabbing my first aid kit and some fresh water. The younger girl edged closer to Zeus, but the man, who I assumed was her father, grabbed her back. "It's o-okay....he w-w-won't h-hurt u-unless I instruct h-him too" I reassured.

I rolled up my jeans to inspect my knee. It had deep lacerations and blood everywhere. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and poured fresh water to cleanse it. I covered my mouth so I wouldn't startle anyone with my cries, but the man had already swung around.

"Oh no, honey, be careful" he rushed over, grabbing the bandage I had in my hand. He begun very gently wrapping my knee, watching me closely to make sure I wasn't in pain. "Sarah, do you have morphine?" He asked. The older lady nodded and ruffled through her bag. He wiped a tear from my cheek. "It's alright, we'll get you fixed up"

"Here we go sweetie" The lady said, injecting my arm with morphine. The pain that reeked havoc in my body began to settle, and passed injuries relaxed. I breathed out calmly. I'm

"T-T-Thank you" I whispered.

"That's alright sweetie....I'm Sarah" The older lady spoke with a warm smile.

"I'm Ian" The man smiled, shaking my hand softly.

"Kelly!" The girl laughed with Zeus tickling her with his tail.

"I-it's nice to meet you all....I'm Hannah, and the beast is Zeus" I giggled. Zeus shot me a side look which I laughed at. "I'm going to recommend you guys stay here for a while....this island is a very dangerous place if you don't have something to protect you" I suggested.

"I mean, with the bus gone and no way to signal the helicopter....we might be here for a little while. Would we perhaps be able to stay with you?" Ian asked, limping to sit down.

"Of course....what happened to the bus, just out of curiosity" I laughed, picking up my first aid kit and limping to Ian.

"A T-Rex pushed it over a cliff" Sarah admitted, slightly shaky. Zeus raises his head.

"A T-Rex? They normally don't come that close to this side of the island....did you do something to upset him?"

"We fixed their babies broken leg...ungrateful dinosaurs" Ian joked, looking down at me with curiosity as I rummaged through my first aid kit for strapping. "It's okay sweetie, don't worry about me" he whispered, wincing slightly as he went to stand. Sarah sat him back down.

"Let us help, Ian, please?" She pleaded, knowing that he was clearly in pain. Distantly, loud thundering footsteps could be heard, but they were worryingly closer then we thought.

"Zeus" I called nervously. He growled.

"Kelly, come here my angel" Ian called, looking at me. I helped her climb over Zeus' tail and hopped onto his back.

"Zeus, we cannot afford you having another fight....Zeus, listen to me, we don't need this" I reminded, seeing him begin to become restless. He grumbled lowly. "No bud, we aren't in danger, we'll be fine as long as we hide in here." With a low grumble, he admitted defeat and rested his head back down. 2 Mattresses littered the ground, and Kelly and Sarah were so tired they'd already curled up on one together. "Ian, this one can be yours, I have the dinosaur" I giggled, helping him down with his newly strapped knee. He laughed tiredly, exhaustion overcoming him as he yawned and closed his eyes. I curled up on Zeus' tail, noticing that the footsteps of the T-Rex were closing in.

Ian's POV
After rolling around restlessly for what felt like hours, I stood up with the help of my new walking stick (also known as a branch) and checked on Sarah and Kelly. As I went to check on Hannah, I noticed the poor thing was trembling. With what strength I could muster, I gathered her in my arms and slowly carried her over to the mattress, lying her down carefully and wrapping her up with a blanket. I lowered myself down a bit further away, and made sure she was warm before I rolled over to sleep. Hannah had been alone on this island for a long while, and she didn't have any family to call her own. If it came to it, I would take her in....Sarah would love it I'm sure, and Kelly would love to have a sister her age. She was such a sweet kid, and although I hadn't known her for long, I treated her almost as if she was my own.

Hannah's POV
"Thank you" I whispered to Ian softly.

"It's alright sweetie, go to sleep" He whispered in reply, softly rubbing my back. As soon as I began to zone out of consciousness, Zeus softly growled. Something, or someone, was outside.
