"It's killed meh! It's killed meh!"

Gasps filled the room but Harry felt like he might hurl. Students all over the classroom were dramatically reacting to Harry's mark of death.

"I don't think it looks like a Grim," Hermione said coldly just as annoyed with this class as Y/N was.

Professor Trelawney made her way to Hermione with a sour look plastered across her face.

"You'll forgive me for saying so, my dear, but I perceive very little aura around you. Very little receptivity to the resonances of the future."

Hermione tried her best to hide her hurt face as everyone started debating over if the tea leaves truly looked like the Grim.

"When your all finished deciding whether Harry's going to die or not!" Y/N shouted as the class quieted down. Harry shot her a grateful look as the professor calmed down and dismissed the class.

"Until we meet again," Professor Trelawney called before turning to Neville and saying, "Oh and dear you'll be late next time, so mind you work extra-hard to catch up."

The 4 new friends descended down the stairs awkwardly but Y/N gave Harry's shoulder a comforting squeeze before moving to talk to Hermione about Transfiguration. Ron wasn't even looking Harry in the eye after the previous class.

Y/N and Hermione took seats together towards the front of the classroom when they reached Professor McGonagall's class, while Harry moved to the back trying to avoid everyone's irritating gazes. As Y/N and Hermione paid attention learning about Animagi (who were wizards or witches who could transform into animals at will) Harry tuned his house leader out.

Y/N started to daydream as she imagined herself being an animagus. A beautiful black wolf with Y/E/C eyes. Turning into an animal at will sounded amazing. As she sat in her seat daydreaming her eyes were pulled to the front of the classroom when Professor McGonagall turned into a tabby cat.

However, the students who had just come from Divination didn't even give the professor a second look.

"Really, what has got into you all today?" the Professor said as she turned back to her normal self.

Hermione raised her hand after nobody spoke up.

"Professor we've just had our first Divination class, and we were reading the tea leaves, and --"

"Ah, of course, tell me, which one of you will be dying this year?" she interrupted.

Everyone snuck quick glances at Harry as he wished he could be swallowed up into the floor,

"Me," he said finally.

"I see," Professor McGonagall said calmly, "You should know Potter, death omens seem to be Sybill Trelawney's favorite way to greet a new class. She has predicted a student death every year since she has been here at Hogwarts. None of them have died."

Y/N was thankful that someone could see through Professor Trelawney's comments and Harry started to relax at the words of his teacher.

"You haven't seen a black dog anywhere have you?" Ron asked Harry as the golden trio and Y/N walked down to lunch.

"Yeah, I have," Harry answered. "I saw one the night I left the Dursleys'."

Y/N knew all about the Dursleys from her and Harry's previous late-night adventure but not about him seeing the Grim.

Hermione and Y/N both stopped in their place in front of the boys and turned around.

"Wait you didn't tell me that?" Y/N said concerned.

"It was probably a stray," Hermione said.

Ron wasn't so convinced. He went on a long tangent about his uncle seeing the grim and then dying 24 years later which Hermione quickly debunked as a coincidence.

"I'll see you guys in Care of Magical Creatures," Y/N waved as she headed down to the Slytherin table.

She took a seat across from Daphne and started to enjoy the stew that was being served for lunch.

"Of course you were hanging out with a mudblood. Why am I not surprised?" A voice called from downwards the Slytherin table.

Y/N knew exactly which unnatural blonde had said such a horrid word.

"What suddenly cat got your tongue, Sinclair?" Pansy called from next to him smirking. Y/N felt the anger rising in her. She had said all but two sentences to Pansy but she had the nerve to act like that towards her.

"Sorry I don't speak dumbass, so I'll continue to eat my lunch," Y/N answered taking a bite from her food not looking up.

Before Draco could muster up a retort the voice of Marcus Flint pulled both of their attentions.

"Any Slytherin's wanting to try out for the Quidditch this year tryouts are after school tomorrow." He announced.

Yes. Finally, something Y/N could get excited about. She wasn't kidding when she said she was a good Chaser. She was the most gifted Chaser at Ilvermorny and with her new Firebolt, she was ready to be back on a team.

Y/N made her way down to Care of Magical Creatures with the quartet...well more with Harry. Ron and Hermione weren't speaking to each other due to the whole debate if Harry really did have the Grim.

Y/N tried her best to control her Care of Magical Creatures book that she had latched closed with a belt.

Once they reached the group Y/N rolled her eyes to see Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle laughing about something. Thankfully she caught the eyes of Tracey and went to stand next to her.

"C'mon, now, get a move on!" Hagrid called. "Got a real treat for yeh today! Great lesson comin' up! Everyone here? Right, follow me!"

He lead the class to a paddock by the edge of the Forbidden Forest scaring Y/N for a moment wondering if they were being led inside.

"Everyone gather 'round the fence here! That's it---make sure yeh can see---now, firs' thing yeh'll want ter do is open yer books---"

"Exactly how do we do that?" Draco asked in a condescending tone.

"Hasn'—hasn' anyone bin able her open their books?" Hagrid asked slightly hurt. The class shook their hands showing their books binded by things such as rope, binder clips, or just stuffing them the best they could into their bags.

Draco then proceeded to run his hands down the spine of his book and it purred and relaxed so he could open it.

"Oh, how silly we've all been!" Draco shouted. "We should have stroked them! Why didn't we guess?"

"I—I thought they were funny," Hagrid shyly stated to the four. Y/N gave him a sympathetic look.

"They were funny Hagrid," she stated not wanting to hurt the kind man's feelings.

"Oh, tremendously funny!" Draco exclaimed from his spot standing by a tree. "Really witty, god this place has gone to the dogs wait until my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes."

"Shut up, Malfoy," Harry stated harshly as Y/N walked up behind him.

Draco then proceeded to make weird owl noises taunting him as he looked at his friends.  He then proceeded to strut up to Harry looking him up and down and biting his lip as he approached.

The dramatics with this one. Y/N thought trying to stop herself from laughing at the fact that Malfoy clearly just checked Harry out.

"Dementor Dementor!" Draco suddenly shouted pointing behind the students. Y/N remained exactly where she was looking Draco dead in the eyes as everyone else turned around.

"OoOooOOoooo," Draco and his goons said lifting up the hoods on their robes and wiggled their fingers pretending they were dementors.

"Do you have an off switch?" Y/N asked narrowing her eyes at him before grabbing Harry by the shoulders and leading him away from the crowd.

'Righ' then," Hagrid started trying to diffuse the tension between the students, "so--so yeh've got yer books an' --- an' ----now yeh need the Magical Creatures. Yeah. So I'll go an' get 'em. Hang on..."

Hagrid came back with a quite large animal. It had the body of a horse, wings, and a head that resembled an eagle.

"What the bloody hell is that Hagrid?" Ron asked backing away slowly from the creature. As students started to shift uncomfortably at the large creature, Y/N was astounded by the creature. She always admired the beauty of Magical Creatures and cared for them deeply.

"Hippogriffs!" Hagrid roared, "Beau'iful, aren' they?"

Y/N took in the creature's smooth feathers and its gleaming coat admiring its structure.

"Now firs' thing yeh gotta know abou' hippogriffs is they're proud. Easily offended, hippogriffs are. Don't never insult one, 'cause it might be the last thing yeh do." Hagrid explained.

"If any of yeh wan' tea come a bit nearer----?" Hagrid asked looking around but no one except Y/N moved forwards. Harry, Ron, and Hermione cautiously approached after her.

"Firs' thing! Yeh walk toward him, and yeh bow, an' yeh wait. If he bows back, yeh're allowed ter touch him. If he doesn' bow then get away from him sharpish, 'cause those talons hurt. Who wants ter go first?" He questioned.

"No one?" Hagrid said looking at the crowd.

"I'll do it," Y/N and Harry said at the same time.

"Great! Y/N approach first."

Y/N made her way carefully towards the Hippogriff. "Yeh must make eye contact, try yer best not ter blink."

Hermione and Ron grabbed each other's hand scared that their two friends were going to get hurt but quickly looked at each other and pulled away remembering they were upset with each other.

Looking Buckbeak in the eyes Y/N gave a bow to Buckbeak while the class was holding its breath terrified. Buckbeak immediately bowed back to the Slytherin girl.

"Fantastic Y/N! Harry yeh can do the same. " He said as Y/N patted Buckbeak feathers in astonishment as she moved aside.

Harry tried his best not to blink as his eyes watered and he gave a short bow looking back up. The hippogriff did not move at first but after a moment bowed back allowing the pair to pet his beak.

(A/N: Sorry I just have to say, LOOK AT HIS SMILE! I CAN'T!)

"Right' then, Harry, Y/n," Hagrid started, "I reckon he might' let yeh ride him!"

Harry looked at Hagrid like he was mental.

"Ok," Y/N said calmly as she went around Buckbeak ready to get on his back.

"Umm...Hagrid I'd I rather not-" Harry started.

"Come on Harold," Y/N smiled at her friend, "Don't tell me you're being a wuss."

Harry gave her a look saying What the fuck are you getting me into? but nonetheless, he climbed on top of Buckbeak after Y/N.

"You might' want ter hold on ter Y/N Harry," Hagrid instructed.

Harry's cheeks started burning up as he awkwardly whispered, "Umm...is that ok?"

Y/N then proceeded to grab his hands placing them around her waist. "Quit being so scared Harold."

Harry felt a smile grow on his face as he comfortably held onto the girl feeling safe. Butterflies started fluttering in his stomach but he tried his best to ignore them and not make a big deal out of the fact that he particularly liked having his hands around the young girl's waist.

"Go on, then!" Hagrid yelled, slapping the hippogriff's behind sending it into flight.

Y/N carefully held on to Buckbeak feathers as the two soared through the air. Riding Buckbeak was nothing like riding a broom and Harry much preferred riding his Nimbus Two Thousand.

"This is amazing!" Y/N said amazed at the view she could see.

"Your completely mental!" Harry said laughing at how comfortable she was with the flight.

As they approached the lake Y/N slowly started to let go of Buckbeak's feathers taking a leap of faith and spreading out her arms.

"Yup I was right. Your completely mental!" Harry yelled holding tighter around Y/N's waist.

"Come on Harry you've almost died three times already take another risk!"

Y/N interlocked her hands with Harry's and brought them out to the sides as they both soared across the water. They felt like they were on Cloud 9 and Harry wished the moment could last forever. He could stay up there with his new friend forever and not have to worry about murderers coming after him and "The Grim" prediction.

Y/N let go of his hands grabbing back onto Buckbeak as they began to descend to the ground.

Harry found himself slightly sulking at the fact that she let go but immediately tightened his grip around her waist as they got lowered terrified he was going to fall off. They both felt a heavy thud as they reached the ground.

"Told you we could do it!" Y/N exclaimed when they got off throwing her arms around her friend. Harry's cheeks went pink and the butterflies returned as he hugged her back.

"Good work, Y/N, and Harry!" Hagrid exclaimed as the majority of the class clapped for them while Malfoy and his friends narrowed their eyes at the scene.

"Who else wants to go?" Hagrid asked but before anyone could answer Draco pushed students out of the way and stalked up to Buckbeak.

"Yeah, you're not dangerous at all are you?" Draco started, "You great ugly brute."

In one swift motion, Buckbeak swiped down at Draco with his talons hitting his arm and causing him to fall on the ground.

"It's killed meh! It's killed meh!" He screamed whimpering on the floor.

"Sadly no it hasn't Malfoy," Y/N called causing Harry and Ron to let out a snort.

"Y/N." Hermione scolded.

She stuck her hands up innocently, "I just said what we were all thinking!"

"Someone help me—gotta get him outta here—" Hagrid said as he lifted Draco up and Hermione held the gate open to help him.

Once Hagrid and Draco were out of view of the paddock conversations about the event filled the paddock.

"They should fire him straight away!" Pansy Parkinson exclaimed who was on the verge of tears.

"Cut the dramatics Parkinson," Tracey said rolling her eyes.

"It was Malfoy's fault!" Dean snapped.

As the class reached the entrance hall Pansy exclaimed, "I'm going to see if he's okay!"

"Have fun! Tell him I'm scheduling round 2 with Buckbeak for Thursday!" Y/N called making Pansy narrow her now red and puffy eyes at her and run up the marble staircase.

"D'you think he'll be alright?" Hermione asked nervously.

"Let's hope for Hagrid's sake he is," Harry said.

"Yeah, that was a bad thing to happen during his first class. Trust Malfoy to mess things up." Ron stated concerned.

"Trust he's definitely going to run off and tell his daddy," Y/N stated exchanging their worries.

"We should go down and see him after dinner," Hermione suggested.

"That's a good idea," Y/N stated, "I'll meet you guys by the great hall entrance."

─── ∙ ~☾~ ∙ ───

At dinner, Y/N and Tracey told Daphne and Millicent all about Care of Magical Creatures which resulted in the group erupting in laughter at the Slytherin table.

"She really cried?!" Daphne exclaimed.

"I swear it was like he died," Tracey stated trying to stop from laughing. Their laughing quieted down when Draco entered the great hall with his arm in bandages. Pansy immediately ran from her spot at the table to steady him.

"She does know it's his arm, not his leg?" Y/N whispered to her friends. They all gave her amusing looks as they watched the scene unfold.

As Pansy helped him into his seat at the Slytherin table Crabbe, and Goyle started smothering him in questions asking if he was alright.

"Does it hurt terribly Draco," Pansy asked anxiously.

"It comes and it goes. Still. I consider myself lucky." He stated proudly, "If it wasn't for Madame Pomfrey, another minute or two I could of uh lost my arm."

"Oh my god," Y/N said slapping her hand to her face from embarrassment at the boy's comments.

Just then Blaise entered the great hall and sat in the seat next to Y/N accidentally bumping into her shoulder. He quickly apologized but a smirk grew on Daphne's face as Y/N grabbed her shoulder from the short pain.

"Does it hurt terribly Y/N?" Daphne asked.

"Comes and it goes. Another minute or two I could of lost my arm," Y/N said mimicking Draco before erupting into laughter.

Pansy, Crabbe, and Goyle, both scowled at the two while they laughed uncontrollably.
