Haunted

After an unexpected experience, Willow can't help but feel spooked. What did the wolf's words mean to her? What did she need to remember?

***

Willow's body was lightly tucked into her bed, however, she couldn't sleep. Every time she tried to close her eyes and fall into a deep slumber, the face of the wolf muttering the same words distracted her.

Remember...

Remember...

Remember...

The same word over and over again on a continuous repeat. What did he mean? What does he know that she doesn't?

She rubbed her eyes, desperately wanting to fall asleep but her thoughts wouldn't let her. Also, her dreams were slowly becoming vivid again which didn't help. Everything seemed strange. It felt like the whole universe was surrounding her.

"The world seems small, doesn't it?" A female voice spoke, startling Willow.

A visible flinch could be seen which jolted her awake from her sleepless daze. She sat up and gazed around her room, thinking Rose somehow entered without doing the lock. "Rose?"

"Actually, it feels like the whole universe is small." The voice said, sounding close. Willow could definitely tell that whoever was talking to her wasn't Rose. "Especially when it's all jumbled around in your head."

"Who are you?" Willow demanded, growing fearful of what was inside her room.

"But hey, that's what you get for staring into the time vortex." She replied, overlooking the question.

Willow's eyes surveyed her room, searching every nook and cranny to find this mysterious person. Almost in an instant, the temperature dropped and everything around her became cold. Her breath was turned to steam as she let out a small breath. She bit her lip before speaking. "Where are you?"

"Close." The voice answered. "I'm always close."

Before Willow could ask anything else, she suddenly felt a hand stroke her shoulder from behind. She screamed, springing from her bed and quickly staring back. There was nothing there, but that didn't mean that something wasn't there.

"You must not be afraid." The voice assured.

She couldn't tell where the voice was coming from. It seemed to be found in every direction. "Yeah, sure... I might not be afraid if you weren't so creepy..."

"It's not my fault." She replied, causing Willow to back up. "It's your mind thinking its in a dangerous situation-"

"Then stay out my head then!" Willow yelled whilst unlocking the door and running into the corridor. "Doctor! Rose!"

She carelessly wandered through the dark halls, bumping into walls as she tried to make her way to the console room. "They're not here."

Willow froze, checking her surroundings in fear. "Where are you?" She whimpered.

"Where am I?" The voice sarcastically questioned. "Everywhere."

For a split second, her eyes drifted over to a doorway. The doorway, in fact, that led to the console room. A small grin erupted upon her face, showing her relief. As quickly as she could, Willow sprinted through the doors and arrived in the one place she wanted to be. However, her smile unexpectedly faded as there was no one to be seen.

"Doctor!" She yelled out, but no response was returned. Nevertheless, she was still on her guard and hastily slammed the doors closed before climbing the stairs. Everything was silent. She could tell that they weren't in mid-flight, meaning that they would have landed somewhere. Without hesitation, Willow ran out of the TARDIS doors, hoping to know where they were.

Once exiting the ship, she found that the area around her was pitch black. Everything around her was shrouded in darkness. No. Everything around her WAS pure darkness. She turned round to go back inside but the TARDIS doors were nowhere to be seen.

"Don't you see, Willow?" The voice asked. "You can't escape from your OWN mind."

In a single moment, Willow had a realisation of what was happening. "I'm dreaming, aren't I?"

"In a way, yes and no." It replied.

"Then who are you?" She confidently queried, though no response was given. After waiting a few moments, she impatiently asked again. "Who are you?"

Willow heard the voice sigh before regarding her question. "I cannot tell you now. You're not ready."

"Ready for what?"

"You'll see..." The voice mysteriously stated. "And I'm sorry... because that's when everything falls apart and you will lose what you hold dear..."

"What does that mean?" She demanded to know, yet there was silence. The voice didn't speak. "I asked you a question!"

"A question I can't answer as of yet." It said. "However, everything will become clear soon enough. Very soon..."

Without realising, the hands of a humanoid figure latched onto her shoulders. Abruptly, they pulled her back, causing Willow to let out a loud scream. As she yelled out for help, she heard so many voices. She heard the voices of Rose, The Doctor and everyone else she had ever met.

Finally, she saw a non-understandable vision appear in front of her. It looked like Rose but she was being pulled away in the opposite direction. It was like she was staring directly at Willow as she was dragged into a bright white light.

Her sight began to blur as the image of Rose started to fade. Her name escaped Willow's lips as she was being tugged away by the mysterious force of her mind, leaving her defenceless and alone.

"ROSE!" She yelled, waking her up from her terrifying sleep. Someone was still holding onto her though, which caused her to scream more. "Get off me! Get off!"

"Willow!" A female voice shouted. "Calm down, it's me!"

Her eyes eventually adjusted to the darkness of her room, realising that Rose was holding onto her arms. Her bedroom door was wide open, outlining the tall figure of The Doctor. Willow's heartbeat slowed down as she stopped hyperventilating. A wide smile appeared on her face, relieved she was no longer trapped in her neverending nightmare. She lunged towards her cousin and wrapped her arms around her in a tight embrace.

Ultimately, she broke away from Rose's grasp and relaxed a little. "How did you get in here?"

"The Doctor opened the door using the sonic screwdriver after we heard your screams. We were terrified." She explained.

Willow gazed up to the Doctor helplessly. "You were worried?"

"Of course we were." He answered, edging closer to her. "We care about you Willow. You're special."

"You're lucky you're stuck with us!" Rose quipped, trying to make Willow laugh a bit.

"I know." Willow let out a little yawn, starting to fall back asleep again but she was still shaken from her strange dream experience and, to be honest, she didn't want to sleep in her room. "Can I sleep in the console room?"

The Doctor nodded, understandable of her situation. Rose, however, was opposed to Willow's decision. "Maybe you should come and sleep in my room tonight."

She shook her head. "To be honest, I'd rather sleep in a big open space than sleep on the floor of your room. No offence."

"No, it's fine. I understand." She said. "Also, my room is a bit cluttered so you would have to squeeze anyway."

***

Willow had placed her bedding onto the main seating area of the console room even though it wasn't that big, meaning that her legs would be hanging off the edge slightly. The Doctor had dimmed the lighting of the TARDIS console, in order to settle her. She sat down on the seat and attempted to find a comfortable position that would let her rest, although the fabric was very uncomfortable.

"Are you sure you want to sleep on that?" The Doctor queried.

She tiredly nodded, exhausted from the night already. "I'll get used to it."

The Doctor flicked another switch, looking away from her for a moment. "They're getting worse, aren't they?"

"Yeah," She responded. "To be frank, they're becoming more realistic."

"In what way?" He asked.

"I'm not quite sure," Willow admitted.

He took a breath, thinking to himself and noticing how she hated talking about the horrors she's endured over the last year. "You're really scared, aren't you?"

She agreed, on the verge of tears. They were getting worse and the Doctor didn't even know what to do.

HEY EVERYONE!

It's been such a long time since I last posted a chapter here but I'm alive!

Anyway, a little life update.

So, I was offered a place at a drama college... but I'm not sure if I should go. Mostly because I'm drifting towards Media Studies now since I like making graphics and I want to be able to learn to do more professional graphics. I'm not sure. I still want to do acting but I want other choices.

Also, since the end of November, I have had another round of mock exams in preparation for GCSEs and these grades get sent off to colleges so they can set our targets. I have had some time off so I've been writing a bit and was actually going to finish this yesterday, but I had some "problems" that I know most of us girls have. Because of these "problems", I got very ill in a span of a few hours and actually threw up.

Literally spent the rest of the day watching The Sarah Jane Adventures. One of the worst days of my life.

Since I'm now on the topic of Sarah Jane, she's up next. Stay tuned for School Reunion!
