Adreano's POV :

"So tell me who amongst you have cheated us?" I asked to my employees. I was standing in the employees working area. Everyone was standing in front of their respective desk.

No one said a word. Everyone was silent.

"I again repeat the question. Who has ruined this Goddamn deal!" I raised my voice. I banged my fist on the nearby table. Everyone's gaze was down on floor.

I swept my eyes from each of them, "Very well then." I turned to Mr. Gru who was standing right beside me, "I want that Bastard in my cabin as soon as possible or else start appoint a fresh staff till evening. I want the top, intelligent and most of all loyal employees in my office." I went straight to cabin. Mr. Gru followed me.

"Sir we are trying our best to find the culprit." He adjusted his round glasses. He was in mid forties. Strong firm and a dedicated man whom my dad and I trust the most.

"I don't want a try I want that Bastard." I took out my coat and kept on the chair, rolled my sleeves upto the biceps and took out my watch. "Mr. Gru arrange a new staff with best men, finish with the interviews and other formalities till evening."

"Sir but it's not possible to change the whole staff in a day."

"Then bring that cheater before me."

"Okay sir." He left.

I rested my back on chair. I started thinking about the deal our company made with the leading liquor company. This deal would have taken my company to the next level. Everything was perfect just before one of the employer of mine cheated us.

Each staff working in our company have been provided with a big lavish house, car, servants so that they can concentrate more on their work and increase our company's productivity.

Even after providing so much, a man cheated. I was in deep thought and was disturbed when there was a knock on the door.

"Sir may I come in?"

"Come in Mr. Gru."

"Sir we found the culprit. He himself confronted to me when I was busy taking interviews."

I looked at my watch, it was only fifteen minutes before I told him about appointing new staff and he already started with it. I was impressed but tried not to show him. This is how a dedicated employee should be. No doubt I'll give him a bonus this month.

"Who?" I asked sternly.

"It's..It's..umm...Samuel sir." His voice shooked.

"Samuel? Are you sure?" I just couldn't believe what I heard.

"Yes sir. Samuel."

I was stunned. Samuel was working with us since many years. I trusted him blindly. He has consistently won the best employer title in the past five years. As far as I know Gru and Sam were best friends. They were experienced and made a good team together.

"Take him to the enquiry room." I said immediately.

"Okay sir."

I entered the enquiry room after five minutes. Whenever a decision regarding any cheat, distrust or dishonesty against the company or the employers happens, decision is made here.

The room is huge, surrounded by Hickory wood on the three sides which is known for it's toughness and on the fourth side stood a hard, tough glass through which no sound was passed outside. There was a speaker outside the room for us to hear what's going on inside. The corners of the enquiry room was occupied with CCTV cameras.

After a long one hour session, he accepted that he was offered a ransom amount and assurance of a good position in their company.

Our officers decided to take him to the police and after seeking my permission, he was sent with the police.

I was standing in front of him. His eyes were filled with tears and shame. He did not had the strength to look straight at me. In the next ten minutes he was out of our office.

"Mr. Gru call Mr. Takinava and tell him that we are not interested in the deal and we are opting out."

"But sir, Samuel is now arrested."

"So what? Mr. Gru can't you see Samuel was one of the most trusted and efficient employer for years. He worked so hard for the company and that damn liquor company changed his mind in few days. This shows how badly they wanted us to pass the deal. From the day the deal was final I thought it will be take our company to great future but this incident changed my mind totally. This was not just a partnership or mere profit deal it's more than that and we have to find it out."

"But sir, they are the top most liquor company internationally, why would they do such a thing?"

"Exactly Mr. Gru why they need to do all this? Why they lured a ransom amount and bought the loyalty of Samuel? Why?"

"Yes sir you are right. But opting out at this time will make a great loss to us. They will waste no time to partner with our rival company."

"I can bear the loss of money, it can be earned again but I can't bear the loss of our employer's hard work, our company's progress, reputation, future. This loss is irreplaceable."

"Very well sir. I will inform Mr. Takinava about it."

"Thank you Mr. Gru. You may leave now."

"Mr. Gru left. I was experiencing discomfort in my cabin. I don't know what exactly I was feeling but I wanted someone near me right now.

I called Grandma, "Hey Granny where are you."

"Oh, I was just coming to you office. This dress is looking so good." She said excitingly.

I smiled. "Great. See you soon."

"Oh son, I can't wait to show you this piece of masterpiece."

I ordered an Espresso which my assistant Sophia made in less than two minutes. I was sipping on my favourite Espresso, I heard a subtle knock, "May I come in Mr. Stryker."I heard a very known voice. I stood up, went near the door and bowed down, "Please, your majesty." I said.

Grandma came in. We both chuckled. I called Sophie. She came in greeted Grandma. "I don't want any disturbance in the next one hour."

"Okay sir." Her answer was quick and she left.

Grandma was wearing a jumpsuit. Yes a jumpsuit. I won't lie but the designer has really made her look good in it. It was not looking funny in fact it suited her the best. This is why she was so excited to show her dress.

"You are looking gorgeous." I complimented as I hugged her.

"See I told you it's so beautiful. You know everyone complimented me except that Marilyn. She said that I am looking disaster and should change my designer. I also gave her a suggestion to visit a top cosmetologist and change her face, those wrinkles are making her look horrible day by day. She huffed and moved away. Old, jealous woman. Huh." She sat on the sofa.

I couldn't control myself anymore and laughed hard. She always makes me happy whenever she is around.

"Why are you laughing? I was so mad at her that time I wanted to punch her face but my words were enough I guess."

I laid my head on her lap. She brushed my hairs with her fingers.

"I missed you Grandma."

"I missed you too son. So tell me what's happening in your life? Any successful date?"

"I haven't dated anyone since last two weeks and I don't want to." I said lazily.

"What? Are you gay my child?"

"What? No! I am not!" I laughed once again.

"You can share with me. I will start searching for you a husband rather than a wife." She chuckled.

"Oh, don't trouble yourself. I just want no one in my life."

"Why? What's the reason?"

"I have told you already! It's all about money. From girlfriend to employers, robbers, kings, everyone runs for money but have you seen anyone running for love? Because money is important. You always say love is the best thing, but I don't think so." I paused thinking of my mother, and continued, "Today my best and trustworthy employer cheated our company and sold himself for money. Inspite of providing everything he broke my trust. You are here with me but Mom never came to just see a glance of me. Where is love?" My throat was blocked, my eyes filled with tears. I wasn't able to speak. I wanted to burst out crying but I managed to control. I have learned to take control of my emotions as I am grown up man.

"Drink it." Grandma handled me a glass of water. I drank the water and settled at the emotional words which were scratching my throat to come out was gulped back to the stomach.

I closed my eyes. I was feeling dizzy.

"Grandma..I.." I wanted to get up.

"Shhh...sleep." Grandma gently massaged my head. I fell asleep.
