"Ms. Vice." Someone tapped me softly.
"Sorry." I rubbed the sleep from my eyes.
"Come on let's get you two inside." Messiah held his hand out to me.
I ran around to Beau's side and unbuckled her; she was still fast asleep so I carefully pulled her out of her car seat. Zion grabbed her nappy bag and they all followed me into the house, their expressions hard and unreadable.
"Av-" Zade came to a stop in the entrance of the house.
Messiah and Zion stepped in front of me immediately, blocking Zade's view of me and Beau.
"Messiah, it's okay. That's my boyfriend Zaden." I tugged at his suit jacket.
They never said anything but stepped out of the way. I rushed into Zade's arms, pressing my head against his chest and taking deep breaths of his intoxicating fresh scent.
"You're tired aren't you?" He pressed his lips to my forehead.
I nodded, feeling myself grow sleepy again.
"Let me take Beau to bed and then you can explain to me why I'm getting death stares from Carter's security team." He chuckled into the top of my head.
"How did you know they were Carters?" I tiptoed, pecking his lips.
"They have the Soreign rings but instead of gold like the one you have, theirs are black and it's not hard to tell." He winked, taking Beau from my arms carefully.
I turned back around to the five and stared at each of their hands, they all had the same ring on the same finger.
One thing I never noticed. I thought.
"Where is everyone?" I asked before he headed for the stairs.
"They went out for a little, they should be back any minute." He called out.
I made my way into the family room with my shadows following me.
"Would you guys like something to drink? Eat?" I asked the five of them.
"No thank you." They all shook their heads with grimaces they tried to portray as smiles.
They stood around the room, taking things in and looking through curtains to see out of the windows. Messiah was more alert than the rest, how that was possible I didn't know. Their builds were around the same and they towered over me like every other man I've met in their line of business.
The parking of cars was heard and the whole five of them came and stood around the sofa I had flopped down on. Their postures straight and intimidating.
"ZADE." Nadia's voice rang out in the house; it wasn't a panicked yell but one as if telling him they were home.
Maceo strode through the door with his head down, tapping away at his phone. The rest of the guys ran right back out of the front door once they spotted Messiah and the rest.
"Who are they?" Nadia's voice asked.
I quickly stood and pushed in front of Zion.
"Hi." I waved with blushing cheeks.
"Ava, what did you do?" Maceo grabbed onto Nadia and ran back towards the door.
"I didn't do anything." I felt the hurt pang at my heart; I didn't like the fact that they all backed away from me.
"W-why do you have Soreign's security standing in the family room?" He stammered.
"What are you idiots doing?" Zade asked gruffly, staring at everyone peeking through the front door.
"Soreign's security is here to kill Ava." Maceo's eyes bulged out of their sockets.
I giggled at him and they all stared back at me like I had gone missing from a mental institute.
"They're not here to kill her." Zade deadpanned, making his way over to me.
"Are we missing something?" Maceo asked nervously and remained out of the front door.
"Can you all come in here, please? I'd like to talk to everyone." I asked softly, moving towards Zade.
My shadows followed and stood behind the love seat Zade and me sat on.
Hesitantly, Maceo and the rest of the guys moved slowly to come into the family room. Nadia rolled her eyes and pushed passed them, flopping down in a seat.
"What's up buttercup?" Nadia grinned, stuffing onion rings into her mouth.
"She was with Soreign last night at the dirt track, that's his ring around her neck." Silas whispered into Maceo's ear but we all heard him.
"What's going on Ava? Is everything okay? Are you okay?" Questions rushed out of Maceo's mouth worriedly.
"I'm perfectly fine." I sighed, nodding and lacing my hand into Zade's.
"Carter Soreign is my half-brother, I found out yesterday." I said calmly.
The room filled with gasps and everyone started speaking at the same time.
"Shut it!" Zade growled.
"W-what? How? Are you sure? Ava, do you know what this means? Oh god, this is okay, right? Right?" Maceo stood and started pacing the room as he talked to himself.
"If it were any other situation I would have laughed." Silas joked but soon shut up once Zade gave him a look.
"Today I spent some time with him and he had assigned Messiah, Zion, Felik, Preston, and Elliot as my personal security team." I explained, pointing to each of them.
"How is he your half-brother? It doesn't make sense." Nadia and Kenna said softly, they looked confused just like the rest.
"My father Hayze was meant to marry Carter's mother but something happened and they ended up splitting. Hayze moved on and met my mother but did not know Carter's mother was pregnant with his child." I explained briefly.
I didn't want to mention the fact that Carter's mother had cheated and so on. I wasn't going to trash someone's name.
"I'm moving out and back into my own place." I said softly, staring down at my lap.
The room broke out in protest and my heart warmed but it only made my decision to leave so much clearer.
"Not happening." Zade said sternly, gripping my hand tighter.
"NO!" Nadia screamed.
"Nadi-"
"NO. I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU." She shook her head and the tears fell.
"I have to Nadia." I tried reasoning with her.
She burst out into a sobbing mess and I made my way to her, pulling her into my arms.
"I need you, I can't do this on my own." She cried into the crook of my neck.
"You know I'll always be here, right? If you ever need anything." I felt my own tears prickling at my eyes.
"You can't leave me." She crushed me in her tight hold.
"I'll always be here Nadia, just not as much." I brushed my hand against her stomach secretly hinting that I know.
"I'm so sorry Av, I wanted to tell you b-but I was just so scared." She cried harder.
"What is she talking about?" Maceo asked, moving towards us.
I stared at Silas knowingly and he looked away, catching on that I knew exactly what was going on.
"I'm the least of your worries, you don't need to explain to me."
"You promised me you wouldn't leave." Her cries grew louder and the memory of me promising her that I wouldn't leave when Zade was in a coma rushed in.
Everyone wasn't catching on, they all thought she was only crying over me leaving but I wasn't going to be the one to spill the beans.
"Trust me I don't want to but it's safer this way." I wiped her tears.
"Ava, no." Maceo shook his head.
"I have to, I'm not risking any of your lives. You all mean too much to me." I stared at Zade.
"Whatever you're thinking, isn't happening Ava so don't even think about leaving me." Zade growled, his eyes were piercing into mine.
And frankly, Zade was the one person I'd forever be selfish for.
I blew him a kiss and his muscles relaxed just a tiny bit.
"Ava it's not a good idea to leave, we'll be okay, we can handle anything thrown at us, and we'll triple security." Maceo frowned, trying to come up with a plan.
"My families are three big Mafia's and Carter is very close to another, that's four mafias. I'm not risking it, not Beau and not the rest of you." I was adamant.
No one said anything because the sensible thing was for me to move out.
"This is Messiah, he's head of my security team." I gestured to him.
Messiah stepped forward and Maceo and the rest of the boys took three steps back.
"Nice to meet you all, can I have a word with you later?" Messiah said in a cold tone, it wasn't the kind of disrespect but a tone he would use on everyone, his question directed at Maceo.
"O-okay." Maceo nodded.
"Come on, let's go have some ice cream and talk outside." I pulled a still weeping Nadia off of the couch.
"Preparar tudo (Prepare everything)" Messiah turned to Zion and Preston.
With stern nods, Zion and Preston split, leaving for the front door while the other three stayed with me.
"I'll be back in an hour or so, I love you Zaden. Remember that." I kissed his cheek; he looked nervous and uneasy caused by my decision of leaving.
I pulled Nadia away and into the kitchen, she had a lot to get off her chest so ice cream was the perfect solution.
Once we were set up outside with our ice cream and spoons, sitting on a fluffy couch near the pool. We sat in comfortable silence and ate for a little bit until she finally cracked.
"How did you know?" She sobbed.
"I noticed the slight glow your skin started showing and then your appetite changed drastically, things you hated you started liking." I explained with a smile as I rubbed her arm.
"Why didn't you ask me if you already knew?" She frowned.
"I wanted you to tell me and be comfortable enough to talk to me about it." I smiled as she cried into her hands.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you Av, I just don't know what to do." Her tears fell uncontrollably.
"Don't be sorry, like I said before I'm the least of your worries right now." I pulled her into me.
"You probably think differently of me now, some kind of slut or something because I got knocked up." She cried.
"Nadia no, of course not." I frowned at her, shaking my head.
"Really?"
"I think all that matters is what you think of yourself." I said honestly.
"Silas knows. I told him last night." She sighed, falling back against the seat.
Messiah and the others stood around us, alert to their surroundings.
"How did he take it?" I asked nervously.
"He was in shock and still is, I haven't spoken to him since. It hurt that he didn't show any excitement and it was stupid of me to expect it. I ruined his life, he's going to hate me for getting pregnant because I missed a pill." She threw her glasses off.
"I can't speak on behalf of Silas but the only way you can know for sure how he feels about this is if you ask him. Talk to him properly." I squeezed her hand.
"Okay." She nodded, wiping her tears again.
"Everything will work out, you have family behind you and you have me, I'll always be here for you."
"Thanks Av." She finally smiled.
"How far along are you?" I asked excitingly.
"I don't know, I haven't been to have a check-up or anything yet. I was too scared to go by myself." She frowned down at her lap.
Pulling her shirt up she revealed a cute little bump, it was hardly there but you could see the perfect little swell of her stomach.
"I'm so happy for you." I pulled her into a tight embrace.
"Do you think I should keep it?" She broke down again.
My heart dropped at the question, of course, I wanted her to keep the baby but who was I to pressure her into keeping something she might not want.
"What I think you should do is whatever you feel in your heart is the right decision, I'll be here to support you 100% with any decision you make, even if no one else backs you." I said with all honesty.
"I want to keep him or her b-but what if Silas doesn't want to?" She sighed, heavy in thought.
"You better go and talk to him, you can't come up with answers if you haven't asked him." I stood and held my hand out to her. "The sooner you talk to him the faster you won't have to over think everything."
"This is why I don't want you to leave Ava, you're my sister too." She wrapped her arms around me.
"You're acting as if I'm moving to a different planet, I'll move back into my house and I'll finish school and everything so you'll see me." I laughed, pulling from her tight grip.
"Still the house isn't going to be the same without you, have fun telling Beau this, she's going to scream the house down. She really loves you Av." We made our way back into the house.
"I know, she's the one person I dread to tell the most." I dropped the ice cream back into the freezer.
"Good luck with that." She laughed, washing our spoons.
"You too, go talk to Silas." I bumped her shoulder and left the kitchen in search of Zade with my security team still following me.
"Zade?" I called out, walking up the stairs and towards his room.
"Ms. Vice we'd like to do a quick sweep of the room before you enter." Messiah stood in front of the door before I got to it.
"Umh, okay." I said hesitantly.
"It'll only take a moment." He said before the other two entered and checked every inch of the room.
"Everything's clear." Elliot nodded.
"You may enter, Elliot and Felik will be out here standing guard. I'll go speak to Maceo, if you need me just tell one of the guys and I'll be right up." Messiah gave me a small smile.
"Thank you." I nodded and stepped into the room.
Zade wasn't in here so I made my way to his bathroom to run a bath; I needed something to relax my muscles.
I undressed before a knock was heard at the door, slipping on my robe. I ran towards the door and opened it.
"Ms. Vice is he allowed in?" Elliot asked, pointing to Zade.
"Yes, this is his room." I chuckled, sending Zade an apologetic smile.
They stepped aside and let him through, once through the door he closed it and wrapped me in his big arms. Before he could say anything, I pulled him into the bathroom and dropped my robe, making my way over to his grand bathtub.
"Words can't describe how stunning you are." He said huskily.
I smirked and lowered myself into the warm bubble bath, I watched him with the same lust filled eyes as he discarded his own clothes with his eyes strained on me. I could already see the impressive dent forming in his jeans. Within seconds, he was naked and lowering himself behind me.
"Zaden?" I called out softly as his arms wrapped around my naked body and pulling me flush against his chest.
"You're not leaving me, not now and not ever." He sighed, nuzzling his face into the crook of my neck.
"Would you leave me if you knew I'd be in danger if you stayed." I tangled my fingers with his.
"Yes." He answered honestly.
"Does it make me a bad person that I can't leave you?" Tears blurred my vision.
"It doesn't, I'm not letting you leave me so you can just get rid of that thought." He spoke with his gruff and masculine voice that I love so much.
I said nothing and raised his hand up to my mouth, letting his masculine scent cloud my thoughts.
"Promise me that when I wake up tomorrow morning, I won't wake up alone." His voice broke.
"I'm that selfish that I could never leave you. I'll still be with you, just not living in the same house." My tears fell silently.
"You aren't selfish, you're far from it." He sounded as if he was angry with me for thinking such a thing.
"I love you." I turned in his arms and straddled him.
"I love you too princess." He left butterfly kisses across the bridge of my nose and forehead, wiping my tears with his thumb.
I ran my hands over his broad and lean shoulders as he pulled me into a passionate kiss. His lips are gentle and tender like always but I want more. I bite his bottom lip and run my hands through his hair roughly.
His hands run up the side of my thighs and clench my backside tightly while nibbling at my neck.
"Ah." I panted, grinding against his shaft that's poking at my entrance.
"You have a great ass, Ava." He pulled me flush against him, sucking on my bottom lip.
"Zaden, stop being a tease." I groaned, trying to cause friction between us but he held me firmly in place.
"Not in here baby." He stood, pulling me up with him
He quickly toweled us down and dragged me into his closet.
"What are you doing?" I raised a questioning brow, watching him close the door and flicked the closet lock.
"I want to hear you moan and I can't do that if your security guards are out our bedroom door." He backed me against the wall with his eyes glazed over in pure desire.
"Our?" I squeaked.
"Yes." He smirked before crashing his lips to mine.
His naked body pressed me against the wall, his shaft pressing against my lower stomach.
"Beautiful." He cupped one of my breasts, dipping down and sucking the taut dusky nipple into his mouth.
"Ah, yes." I squirmed, arching off the wall to press myself deeper into his mouth.
He was too gentle, and he was doing it on purpose, the bastard. His tender admiration drove me crazy, I wanted more and harder and faster.
"Zaden." I moaned frustratingly, the muscles of his chest rippled beneath my touch, his jaw clenched as he bit down causing pain and pleasure to shoot through me.
"I know baby." He slid two fingers between my legs, teasing me by running them over my folds softly.
"You're so wet." He growled, hitching one of my legs on his hip.
"I need you." I moaned, feeling him run his member against my sex.
Wounding my other leg around his hip, he pushed inside and a rumble reignited from his chest. Supported by my arms around his neck, his big hands palming my ass and the wall behind me. Held suspended on his member, I withered and begged for him to move.
"You're so tight. Mine." He pulled out and thrust deep and hard.
"Ahh!" I gasped at the shock and pinch of pain.
"I'm sorry." He murmured with regret in his voice.
"More, just like that." I panted.
"I'll hurt you."
"Fuck me Zaden."
He shuddered in my arms, his arms loosened giving me freedom to rock my hips, the only movement I could make. "Do me like you're mad at me."
His dark eyes blackened. Slowly and achingly, he pulled back and plunged in to the hilt. With a pained groan, he let go, shoving me against the wall and rammed inside of me, my body held still, pinned by his, my mouth fell open in painful pleasure.
"Yes! Zaden!" I whispered breathlessly and repeatedly into his ear but he was too far-gone to hear me, too far above me to answer.
"Ava." He froze on a choked cry as I clenched around him, pushing us both over the edge, pouring himself into me.
Thankful that I made sure to take my pill every morning. We held each other in the aftermath, our sensitive flesh pulsating against the other, and his breath hot on my neck.
"Jesus, Ava." He leaned a little of his weight on me, still rocking in a lazy rhythm.
"Best closet sex ever." I kissed his shoulder as he walked us back into the bedroom, lowering me onto the soft bed.
His chest vibrated with a low chuckle, placing a kiss on my head.
I pulled him down on me and fell asleep instantly, tucked under his muscular arms with my face pressed against him.
∞
I woke to a loud roar of swear words, feeling around the bed for Zade. My eyes snapped open to find the bed empty and no sign of him inside the room.
Standing, I was still naked so I rushed into his walk-in throwing on my jeans and one of his t-shirt, I swung the door open and ran straight into Messiah's back.
"Sorry, Ms. Vice." He swung around and caught my arm before I could hit the floor.
"SO ALL THIS TIME, YOU WERE HERE, ALIVE!" Zade boomed throughout the house.
"MUMMY!" Beau screamed from her bedroom.
I took off running down to Beau's room to find her crying in her bed, trying to climb down the side.
"Come here baby, it's okay." I rushed to her, picking her little form up and kissing her cheeks.
"YOU BETTER RESPECT ME, I DID THIS FOR YOU." An unknown voice grumbled.
"YOU NEVER DID THIS FOR ME! YOU DID THIS FOR YOURSELF!" Zade boomed again, his alpha tone swept through the huge house.
"Mummy why is Zaee yelling like daddy was?" She cried, wrapping her little hands into my hair.
"It's okay, stop crying love." I cooed, hugging her close to my body.
"Do you guys know what's going on?" I asked as I comforted Beau.
My first instinct was to run down and see if Zade was okay but I was not going to put Beau in that situation, so I made myself stay up in her room until she calmed down.
"Noels is here." Messiah said stiffly as he stood at the door with the Preston and Felik at his side, Messiah's form blocking the whole doorway.
"Who's Noels?" I asked, comforting Beau back to sleep.
"Zaden's father."
"What? I thought he passed?" I spoke in a hushed tone.
"No, Noels has been very much alive. Just no one in this house knew."
"But how? Why would he fake death to his own family?" Questions flew out of my mouth so I could understand the situation.
"Because Zaden is next in line." Messiah spoke in short answers.
"In line for what?"
"To take over his mothers family title, Zaden's next in line for the Italian Mafia. The Salvatore family are expecting their Don now." He replied as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
