A couple of days passed and I finally felt better to return to school, Monday night I started getting a cold, probably because I only wore my tank top and jeans the whole night but it wasn't anything major.
Nadia blew my phone up, thinking I wasn't showing up to school because of what happened at their house but I explained and she finally eased off the multiple texts.
"Hey, you ready?" Grayson asked, popping his head through my bedroom door.
"Yup." I called back, slipping my arms through my black school bag.
"The weather is crazy here." I commented, walking out of my room.
"I know, yesterday it was hot and now it's raining." He agreed as we made our way down the stairs.
We waited for the rain to settle down before we made a run for it to our car. I drove carefully to school since the roads were wet, even though I wore a hoodie and covered up, I could still feel the coldness of the weather.
"Bye, love you." Grayson called out, pushing his way through the busy hallways.
Pushing my hood off my head and letting my hair fall out of it, I casually made my way to my locker.
23:00 again, meet you at the café.
-Kota
I read the text before shoving my phone into my pocket and punching my combination into my locker.
"Hey." Blaine's voice pulled me out of my daydreaming state.
"Hey." I smiled, shutting my locker and staring up at him.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as I walked next to him.
"Better, It was only a cold." I replied, Nadia must have told him.
"That's good." He nodded.
"Well, time to go learn." I said sarcastically.
Blaine chuckled before I left him to head into my chemistry class.
The bell finally rung for lunch and I couldn't be any happier, I was starving so I quickly made my way into the cafeteria, in search of Nadia and her friends.
"Ava!" Nadia called out, her and Emma's hands flying around in the air.
"Hey." I greeted them as I made my way over to the empty table they sat at.
"Hi Jake." Emma chirped, her cheeks blushing at the sight of him.
"Hey guys." He said, sitting closer to Emma.
I sat down next to Nadia, we all engrossed in conversation about everything and anything while we ate lunch. Nadia and her friends were fun to be around, Emma definitely talked your ear off once she got comfortable around you, trust me I got first hand of it. Jake was very observant but had his own opinions, Emma and him seem to clash a lot about different subjects but you couldn't deny the attraction they felt towards each other. I stared knowingly at Nadia but she rolled her eyes whispering they liked each other but they were just as stubborn as each other.
"Where are you going?" Nadia asked as I got up from the table.
"Rubbish." I called out and left to look for a bin to put my rubbish in.
I caught sight of Zade and the rest of their group sitting in the middle of the cafeteria with what looked like the popular kids. Waving back at Blaine, I quickly threw my rubbish in the pin and headed back to the table just as the bell rung.
"Let's go, we have gym." Nadia pulled me along with her, throwing my bag at me.
"We don't need to change since we aren't doing much today." She explained as we entered.
"Hey what are you doing tomorrow?" She asked as we sat on the benches, waiting for the gym teacher to start the lesson.
"I don't know, I haven't planned anything yet." I shrugged.
"Well I would have invited you earlier but you were sick, so want to come to my birthday tomorrow?" She beamed.
"I don't know b-"
"I promise Kenna will be on her best behavior, I'll tell the boys to keep her away." She cut me off, her eyes pleading.
I didn't care about Kenna, I just felt a little awkward after what happened.
"Pleaseeeeee." Nadia begged as she placed her hands on my shoulders and started shaking me.
"Okay, I'll come." I laughed at the squeal she did as she jumped up and down.
We got weird looks from the rest of the class making Nadia blush at all the attention we received but she soon got over it as she talked about her plans for tomorrow, she was having a pool party with her friends and close family at their house.
"What if it's still raining tomorrow?" I asked curiously.
"We have an inside pool with heating as well so it's fine." She shrugged.
"Wow, that's so cool." I stared wide-eyed at her.
"Do whatever you would like, equipment rooms open." The teacher called out.
We discussed more of her plans for tomorrow and she gave me her address and other details since I had forgotten how to get to her house. Zade and the rest watched us as we played a game with some other boys in our class since none of the girls wanted to play, it was actually fun but we had to end our game since it was time to pack up for the end of the day.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Nadia hugged me as we exited the school.
"Bye." I called out before sprinting to my car not wanting to get soaked by the rain.
Grayson slid into the car minutes after, flicking his wet hair around.
"Grayson." I huffed, wiping at the water on my face.
"Sorry." He laughed.
"Ahh huh." I hummed, rolling my eyes playfully.

"Rumors are going around that the person who runs The Underground is going to be there tonight." Kota whispered, his coffee breath entering my nose.
"First of all, if The Underground Boss was smart enough he wouldn't show up, second of all your breath stinks." I chuckled as Kota tried smelling his own breath.
"You're right." He nodded.
"Who am I fighting tonight?" I raised a questioning eyebrow.
"Jaylin." Kota wiggled his eyebrows, chuckling at the smile that broke out on my face.
"Well, let's go." I jumped up from my seat.
Kota chuckled, following behind me.
I haven't seen Jaylin since I last fought him 7 months ago. He was the first person I met when I started to fight underground, he was nice and told me who to stay away from and warned me about what I can say and can't say around certain people. We became really close during the first couple of months of fighting underground but he had to move and we lost contact since.
I was already dressed in my fighting clothes; all I needed to do was strap up. Throwing the strap to my gym bag over my shoulder. I quickly locked my car and waited for Kota to hurry up so we could go in.
"I've never seen you this excited to fight someone." Kota commented as security patted us down.
Rolling my eyes, I picked my bag back up and headed into the warehouse. The warehouse was packed like last week, but this time with serious people, the kind that screamed money. The security in the warehouse was easily tripled then last time I was here, I guess The Underground Boss is here, though no one knows who he is or what he looks like, it's pretty much impossible to find out who it was since there were so many men in here dressed in expensive suits.
I stood on an empty bench and watched from the distance like last time as the fight started between two guys, you could tell they weren't professionals. Their stances were off, their strappings were wrong and the way they held themselves nervously just showed they weren't confident.
"Cat!" A masculine voice yelled out from the booths that sat close to the boxing ring.
I knew exactly who it was, the only person who complained about not wanting to call me Vee like everyone else, so he made his own name up for me, using the first couple of letters in my middle name Cat.
Jaylin's blonde hair popped up from the booth, a smile spreading across his face, his eyes a sparkling blue.
A small smile played across my lips as he made his way towards me.
"Hi." I called out once he was close enough.
His big arms engulfed me in a warm hug, squeezing the life out of me.
"I missed you." He laughed, his voice deeper then I remembered.
Guess his balls finally dropped. I thought.
"I missed you too." I laughed pulling him back into a hug.
"Jaylin!" A man that looked like an older version of Jaylin called out, I knew it was Jaylin's father but I've never met him before.
"See you in the ring." Jaylin winked, running over to his father.
I watched him make his way back over to the booth, once my eyes landed back on the booth, Zade and the other six sat staring directly at me so I waved before heading into the changing rooms to strap up. Kota was nowhere to be seen when I came back out so I assumed he had already walked over to the ring. I wasn't fighting yet but I inched myself closer up near the ring to watch the end of the fight that was going on.
An intense stare racked up and down my body and I knew who exactly it was, turning my head to look up at Zade, he smiled at me after I gave him an eye roll.
Bloody creep. I thought.
Then I watched as Maceo leaned over, whispering something into Zade's ear a frown resting on his face as he stared at me. I didn't even notice Maceo was here, I have a lot of questions I want to ask Zade about their involvement with The Underground but then they'd ask me the same thing and I wasn't comfortable in telling them why.
"Hey, you're up." Kota tapped my shoulder.
"Here." I handed my bag over and slipped my shoes off.
Once I was ready, Jaylin already stood in the ring, only wearing shorts and his upper body showcased for everyone to see. I stared at his toned stomach, ripped abs and buff shoulders and arms, he wasn't overly muscly, he was just right. A security guard lifted me over and into the ring before he jumped out, like last time whispers broke out into the warehouse, completely silent. I turned around to take a last glance at Zade, his uncle staring at me worriedly. I gave them a soft smile before turning back to Jaylin.
"Don't go easy on me." He said, deadpanned.
"When do I ever?" I asked, raising a brow.
"I know you did last time we fought Cat." He smirked.
"I don't know what you are talking about." I said, placing my hand over my heart.
Everyone stared and listened to our exchange curiously.
"JAYLIN vs. VEE." The MC yelled as everyone cheered, they probably cheered for Jaylin because none of them cheered for me last week.
Pricks. I thought.
Jay never came for me, he stayed back and watched me carefully.
Jay was a good fighter but he needed to work on a couple of things the last time we fought. I walked towards him but he moved back a step, "What are you waiting for?" I asked.
"I just wanted to appreciate your figure first." He winked.
I knew he was joking, he tried to distract me but it never worked just like the other times he tried.
Finally, he advanced towards me so I advanced toward him, sidestepping and throwing a heavy kick into his side, sending him flying to the floor. He got up clutching his side, his grin never leaving his lips.
"I forgot how fast you asses moves." He said before swigging at my head.
I dodged of course and uppercut his left ribcage as I ducked.
"Here I thought I got good enough to take you out." He laughed, coughing between each word.
"Can you at least try to?" I said deadpanned, "Once me and you stepped into the ring, the sister and brother bond we have stays outside of the ring, I won't hate you if you hurt me." I said, I knew he was holding back a little.
"Fine." He huffed.
"Good." A wide smiled broke out on to my face.
He came swinging at me skillfully but he stayed in a pattern that I figure out within seconds, standing on a rope, I bounced off, landing a heavy punch to his jaw. I didn't want to damage his pretty face so I laid into the rest of his body. Jaylin tackled me to the floor; I let him have this to see what he'd do so I played along. His whole body weight was pinning me to the floor, he was about to land a punch to my face but I pushed down on a pressure point in his neck, making his body go limp. Pushing his heavy body off me, I jumped up and kissed his cheek.
"It was nice seeing you again." I whispered before knocking him out with a single punch.
Jumping out of the ring to Kota, people watched me carefully, curiously and silently.
"Good fight." Kota said but I gave him a stern look.
He knew I didn't like staying longer then we had to.
Grabbing my bag from him, I started to make my way out of the doors but people tried stopping us.
"Let her be." A strong voice called over the crowd, everyone parted ways for Kota and me.
Letting a grateful sigh leave my mouth, I rushed out of the warehouse without a glance back.
"Wow." Kota breathed out, staring down at the money he had in a bag.
The amount of money he held made me nervous.
"Kota, I don't want all of that." I shook my head.
"I know, I can tell by the look in your eyes this is all making you scared." He spoke seriously, "How about this, I'll look after the money for you and when you need it, I'll bring it to you." He continued and I nodded enthusiastically.
"Here take how much you want now." He held the bag out to me.
I took two wads of cash and threw it into my car, "You can take however much you want." I nodded to the full bag.
"I know I say this all the time but I really do mean it when I say thank you, I appreciate everything you do for me." I said, pulling Kota into a hug.
Kota is a very trustworthy person and I'd trust him with my life, even Grayson's. Kota was a Grandfather figure I never had; I loved him like my own.
"That's okay, family looks after each other." He nodded.
My heart warmed at his words, family.
"I'll see you next week." I said slipping into my car and waited for him to get into his own.
We both left and I soon arrived home to Grayson up watching movies. We both decided to sleep in the lounge and watch a movie together. Home is always where my brother was.
