As Marie hit the water, the cold woke her from her daze and she struggled to swim back to the surface but with no such luck. The waves kept pushing her depper into the dark abyss. She kept turning and tumbling and twisting so much so that she no longer knew which way was up, she no longer knew where the surface was.

Suddenly, she felt something grip her by the ankle, it tugged her down, well Marie assumed it was down. It got darker as time passed and she was barely concious due to lack of oxygen. The next thing she knew, a blinding light came out of nowhere and in the center of it was ... a muticolored octopus!

"Welcome Marie. My friend here" it gestured with its tentacle towards a young girl with a fishtail, she was the one who had pulled her down here "her name is Lucy, well, she saw you fall in and I agreed when she asked me to help you."

With that, the octopus swung its tentacle in front of me, yelled "ABRACADABRA!" and blowed a ton of bubbles over Marie who started to be able to breathe, which was quite a relief to her. What's more, she began to see more clearly, she could make out her surroundings now! The octopus, which was in fact multicolored was sitting in a clam shell, like its own pearl. Marie, who was just at awe at the whole situation laughed. The octopus added, amused

"Look down Marie..."

She did and to her utter astonishment she found she had a fishtail, no, a mermaid tail!

"Thank-you so much for saving me Octopus! And its my birthday today!"

With that, Marie swam off in pursuit of her new friend Lucy, who showed her around the kingdom.
