Chapter Two

Can you spot the difference? Cause I can't and I've been trying to figure out why they have two pictures of Luke up there.... LMFAOOOOOOO

Paisley's pov

"Hey Justin, can you throw me my phone over there?" I call out. Seconds later Justin appears from behind the bathroom door and passes me my phone. "Thanks babe." I say, kissing his cheek.

I answer the phone before checking caller ID. Half the time I don't know who it is anyways.

"Hello." I speak in a business like voice. Mainly because this is my work phone and it's only proper to answer this way.

"Hi paisley." The manly voice responds.

"Ashton?" I say, smiling to myself. I haven't talked to him in so long. Maybe about two months but still.

"Hi babe, how are you?" He asks, giggling lightly at the end. One of my favourite parts about the kangaroo.

"I'm great! Justin finally moved in and I've gotten a shît load of clients in the past two weeks. How have you been?" I question while putting on some lipstick and putting my hair in a messy bun.

"Pretty good, yeah. I actually called for a reason this time though... We have a show in about a week in Manitoba. And I just happen to have front row tickets for a very special girl and her best friend Jocelyn." Ashton says through the receiver. I am happy for the slightest moment, thinking of all the fun we could have, but then my mind wanders to him.

The jackass.

He's obviously going to be there.

"Paisley?" Ashton speaks through the phone after a couple minutes of me thinking about all of this.

"Uhh, yeah sure. Why not?" I say, shaking my head at myself through the mirror. I already know this is going to end bad, I can feel it. "Okay great!" He says.

"I love you Ashton, but I have to go to work now." I sigh, disappointed that I have to hang up now.

"Okay, I'll talk to you later. Love you Paisley." He says, then hangs up.

I slip my phone back into my pocket and then walk out of the bathroom in my orthodontic gear and grab my lunch.

"Love you Justin, see you later for supper." I call, then I exit our shared house. I walk to my old car, the same one I have had since I first moved here, and I begin to drive to work.

I already know I'm going to be late, but it doesn't really matter,
I own the place anyways.

If you are wondering. Yes, I bailed out of massage therapy. My dad wanted me to take it, but it wasn't my thing, plus it was really hard to learn and memorize. But instead, I became an orthodontist and I enjoy it a lot actually. I'm making quite a bit of money, I live in a bigger house, and I have lots of money put away in the bank. I'm pretty much set for life.

Me and Jocelyn are still bestfriends, her and Michael are still going strong after four years. I'm proud of them, at leased they cared enough about their relationship to work things out. I am just waiting for that day when she tells me that they are engaged.

Speaking of relationships...
To be completely honest, I still don't even know why Luke broke up with me in the first place. All I know is that he was my first love, and he tore my heart out. I remember spending a full week huddled in my room crying. By the end of it, my eyes were permanently swollen for at leased three days after I stopped.

He never talked to me, not even once, so then I blocked him, and he remains blocked to this day.
Along with Michael and Calum, I really didn't want to block them, but I knew that Luke would get a hold of their phones and read our messages or something, and truthfully, I don't want him to know any thing about me and how I'm doing.

When I first moved to Canada, I made sure to tell Ashton every detail about everything, just so he would know not to let Luke talk to me. I doubt he would want to anyways, he's the one who broke up with me after all. But Ashton agreed none the less and has been keeping an eye out for me ever since. He's such an angel. For real.

So that's why Ashton is the only one who has my number, but even if Luke did read anything on Ashton's phone, I couldn't block him, he's basically my big brother.

But I do really miss them. Them being Michael, Ashton, and Calum. I don't miss Luke so much anymore. I've pretty much gotten over it. I haven't seen them since graduation, we've planned to meet but then their flights got cancelled, or Luke wanted to join, or some other shit.

I pull into my reserved parking spot in the back of my building and I walk in.

"Hello, Ms. Leigh!" My secretary Jenny calls as I enter the building. "Good morning Jenny." I say, tucking a loose hair behind my ear and straightening out my pants.

I walk to the back where my lonely office stands and I type something into my computer, making it log on and display the background of Ashton and I when we were younger. I smile at it and then pull up my schedule. I have about six patients today before i can leave, my assistants can split the other six amongst themselves.

I slip on a pair of rubber gloves and walk out into the waiting room, I spot a little girl, probably around ten years old. She's leaning her head against her mothers shoulder, eyes wide, looking petrified.

"Darcy Atkinson." I call, her head shoots up and she looks at her mom nervously.

"Go on sweetie, I'll be right here when you get back." Her mother tells her, giving her a small peck on the cheek and pushing her lightly towards me.

The little girl walks over to me hesitantly, biting at her finger nails. I can tell she's nervous. I was nervous when I had to get braces for the first time as well.

"Hi Darcy! I'm Paisley, I will be putting on your braces today." I say in a sing song tone, I find that if I talk nicely to them, they loosen up a bit.

"Okay." She mumbles, looking backwards at her mom every couple seconds until we get to the room.

"I know that you are nervous, but I can assure you that this will not hurt at all. The glue tastes a little gross but that's the worst part of it." I promise her as I help her climb into the very tall chair. She seems to visibly relax at my words and I give myself a mental pat on the back.

"Would you like to listen to some music while I put them on?" I ask, I know that some people like to. Plus it gets rid of the awkward silences.

"Yes please." She says, nodding her head.

"Okay, well since my radio isn't working very well, you can go pick out a couple of CDs from my assistant's drawer over there while I prepare." I tell her, pointing to a desk in the corner. She climbs down from the chair and then skips over to the desk gracefully. She looks for a couple minutes before coming back with three CDs.

I take them from her hands and look at the first one she choose.

"5 seconds of Summer is my favourite band." She says as I examine the three CDs. She picked all of their music, of course.

"Luke is my favourite." She tells me, she hops back on to the chair and smiles. I cringe a little at the mention of his name but cover it up with a cough.

"Did you know that I know them?" I smile, putting their first cd inside the player and hitting the play button.

"REALLY?" She beams, bouncing around in her chair a bit.

"Yeah, I went to school with them, Ashton is like my older brother." I tell her. The first song comes on, it's one I've never heard before. I usually don't listen to their music, Luke's voice makes me to disappointed to enjoy it unfortunately.

(A/N)

Hola me numbres es Calum es soy australiano.

I just watched that vine video where it has his high pitched voice and then the really really low one and I laughed for like an hour straight.

Puberty hit them all like a fûcking bus.

When will that happen to me again?
