Author's Note

Hello, amazing people of Wattpad,

If you are reading this you are either new or have been there since the time this book was called, 'You Saved me for Worst.' This here is my first ever Wattpad story. I started it in 2015 and then abandoned it because I got busy writing 'Yes, I Ran Away!' which has had an amazing response and still continue to do so. Thank you for that. If you haven't check it out, it is going to get big news of its own very soon.

So, I wanted to write this story again but then I got busy with my 12th class boards. And after that, I got busy with my degree and in the midst of it all, I lost my motivation to write and had a writer's block which lasted me a good 3 years. I am a literature major by the way so go and figure out the irony.

Since we are in the middle of a pandemic, I am still not a graduate yet. But I am pretty close to it. I hope all of you are doing well in this difficult time. Anyone who may belong to the Class of 2020, I feel you. Writing has always been my sweet escape and I think that's the reason why I am back on here.

Anyhow, now I have decided to re-write this story. And when I say re-write I really do mean re-write and not just editing. For the time being, I have unpublished all the chapters and will publish them again as I continue weaving this story.

It is simply because my 16 years old brain is now replaced with my current one. The basic idea of this story remains the same. It is just going to have better writing and hopefully more nuanced themes and characters. This book will deal with mental health concerns and hopefully in a sensible and responsible way.

I am still deliberating on changing the title again and maybe characters' names as well. I probably will but that's for later. Just wanted to mention it. Because I did change Evan to Aiden.

Now, coming to this book. As I said, the basic idea remains the same just with a postmodern twist. Postmodernism is a literary genre that whacks things up, to put it simply. I won't really do whack a lot of stuff because I really am a slut for Classical Literature at heart but yes, few things in this book may not make sense like the fluidity of the geographical setting and the writer's voice.

In this novel, the writer's voice will be quite prominent, not only through the characters but by her own self. It will be in italics and will be like a conversation between the writer and the reader. I am still experimenting with that. I got the idea after reading John Fowls' "French Lieutenant's Woman." I highly recommend that book along with "Sexing the Cherry" by Jeanette Winterson. They are amazing postmodern novels.

Now without boring you further about novels I recommend. I would like to thank you if you are still here. I hope the idea intrigued you all as much as it did to me. I also hope this book will be an amazing journey and by the end of it, you and I both will have some great takeaways.

Also, if any one of you would like to interact with me, my DMs are always open.

Thank you.

Happy Reading!
