Chapter 2: The girl who's not scared of scary movies
Chapter 2:
Have you ever had one of those moments where you couldn't move even though you wanted to ? Where you wanted to run away but you couldn't because your legs just gave up ? Where you just can't say no ?
Well, it happened to me.
I stood in front of the red door, hands trembling, drops of sweat forming on my forehead, feeling like I would collapse in any given minute. "Aren't you gonna go in already ? The movie started half an hour ago." Someone said behind me, I looked over my shoulder and raised an eyebrow. "Are you scared of scary movies ?" The man asked and I let out a chuckle and faced him with my arms crossed against my chest. "Actually, I'm not scared of horror movies at all. I love them! The only thing I'm scared of is going inside....." I trailed off at the end and the man let out a hearty laugh, "Ah! Young love," he said with a wide grin plastered on his face. I opened my mouth to say something but he beat me to it. "You have the love of your inside, waiting for you and you're afraid you'll mess this up." He said and I sighed, "Something like that," I said and he stepped forward and leaned in to whisper in my ear. "If he asked you to come even though he already has a date..... the guy doesn't like that girl enough to be alone with her." And after that he was gone.
I shook my head and opened the door and stepped in, the projector was already rolling and the protagonist in the movie was screaming. I hugged my jacket closer to myself because of the air conditioning.
I looked around, squinting my eyes, searching for Harry.
Then, I finally spotted him, middle row, last seat with Lillian clinging on his arm like a leech.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to them, apologising a few people for blocking their view or for stepping on their feet.
Finally, I sat on the seat next to Harry's, looking at the huge screen.
"You made it! I thought you'd ditch us for another crazy Pretty Little Liars marathon." Harry whispered and I picked up the bucket of popcorn from his lap and put it on mine instead.
"It's raining and you know that I don't have a car." I said and looked over at his shoulder, pointing at Lillian with my eyes. "Is she clingy ?" I whispered and placed the bucket back on his lap, it didn't have butter in it, what a shame.
"She's brilliant! She loves scary movies, that's good isn't it ?!" Harry whispered excitedly and I fought the urge to roll my eyes, I tend to do that a lot lately. "I remember when you said that I was not 'girly enough' because I love scary movies. Hypocrite much ?" I whispered more harshly and loudly than I intended to, before Harry could answer me an old man sitting behind us leaned in and shushed us.
