Emma's POV

I couldn't move, I couldn't and didn't want to look up at Jesse.

And did he just pick up my books for me?

I bet he will drop them by 'accident' when I try to take it from him.

I slowly move my hand and took the books from him.

Wait, did he just give them to me? Just like that?

"Emma, you don't have to be scared...I changed," He said backing up a bit.

He changed? Very funny.

"Huh?" I ask, finally looking up at him. He let out a sigh. " yes, I know I was a jerk for bullying you before. I'm really sorry Emma, I promise I changed and realized how stupid I was to insult you and other stuff I did to you, so I'm apologizing now, please forgive me" he said, grabbing both my hands all of a sudden.

"Uh..." I was speechless.

"Its fine, I'll give you some time to think about it, maybe until Sunday? We can get lunch somewhere, you can invite your friends if you're not comfortable to come alone.." He said, waiting for my answer.

"Um..sure," I said, not believing the words that just came out of my mouth."great." He said and walked away. Am I dreaming? Did he actually apologize just now?

Just then, the bell rang, I shook my head and headed towards my next class. Physics.

I took a seat and soon other students came into class and took their seats, soon Brendon came in and took a seat next to me.

"Hey," he said, giving me a smile."Hi," I said. "Oh yeah, you know Jesse right?" I asked.

"Yup," he said. "well he asked me to hang out with him-"

"A date?" He asked cutting me off. "No, let me finish, he asked me to hang out with him and he wants me to bring some friends, so it's not a date or awkward or anything," I say, glaring at him.

I would never date that guy after everything he did to me in the past years.

"So, why are you telling me this?" He asked.

"I'm telling you to come with me, idiot," I say, rolling my eyes."Okay, I'll come," he said, laughing then turning his gaze back to the teacher.

I woke up to the sound of hearing a car honking outside my house.

I groaned as I rubbed my eyes and looked at the alarm clock, today is Sunday.

Today is- shit I forgot.

I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom and washed my face. I heard the doorbell ring. Ignoring it, I brushed my teeth and ran to my closet and threw on a long sleeved shirt and jeans and grabbed my hoodie and ran downstairs while trying to tie my hair.

The bell kept ringing constantly, my ears were starting to hurt, I ran over to the door and then opened it. Brendon was standing there, with his finger an inch away from the doorbell.

"Don't.you.fucking.dare," I said, slapping his finger away from the doorbell.

He laughed and came into the house." Is this going to be a regular thing for you? Coming into my house just like that?" I asked, putting my hand on my hip.

Brendon just shrugged and walked to the kitchen.

I followed Brendon into the kitchen and glared at him, who was looking in the fridge. My fridge.

Ugh.

I walked over to him as he took out a chocolate bar, as I snatched it from him and went in front of my fridge.

"Hey! I want that" he said pouting, acting like a 10-year-old,making that stupid kid's accent.

"I don't care, sweetie, no one take my chocolate bar.ever." I say, making sure he heard the 'ever'.

My fridge my food bitch.

I looked up at the clock that hung on the wall.

"oh my god, we are going to be late let's go," I said, putting the chocolate bar in the fridge. "We have like 40 minutes." He said, not moving from his seat in front of the kitchen island.

"We have to pick someone up on the way!" I shouted, "We do?" He asked. Ignoring that question, I pulled him off his chair and dragged him to the front door. I stuffed my phone in my pocket and got my keys and went out the house then locked it.

Brendon and I walked to his car and I slid in."Yeah, we are picking up Levi," I said," I wanted to get Becky but she was busy today so yeah."

Brendon's facial expression changed within seconds after he heard Levi's name. What was his problem with Levi?

"Where is his house?" Brendon finally asked, driving out of the driveway.

I looked at the text from Levi then told him the address then turned on the radio.

We got to Levi's house in about 10 minutes. I went out and rang the doorbell, Levi came to the door and we walked towards the car, when Levi spotted Brendon in the car, his smile faded away a bit.

I got in the passengers' seat and Levi went to the back.

"Hey, Levi," Brendon said casually. "Sup Brendon," he said back, naturally.

When we were back on the road, after a few minutes of awkward silence, Levi and Brendon started to talk and got along really well. Somehow.

I don't get it, they weren't happy about seeing each other but now they are getting along well? I can't tell whether they are just acting or not.

"So who is this Jesse dude?" Levi said finally stopping his conversation with Brendon. "A...f-friend of mine, I guess," I said hesitating. I never thought I'd be calling Jesse a friend.

"Princess, you sound unsure, and what do you mean I guess?" Levi asked.

Is it just me, or do guys just ask way too many questions and never gets the hint that I don't want to talk about shit sometimes.

Brendon's grip tightened on the wheel.

I sighed, and turned the radio on to change the subject, they gave each other a questioning look but then they didn't ask for anything else.

When we got to KFC, we hopped out of the car and went into the restaurant and found Jesse sitting in a booth that was for 4 people, perfect numbering.

When he saw me, he smiled but when he saw Brendon and Levi, I couldn't help but notice him get a bit annoyed. Oh well, he told me to get a few friends, and apparently, these guys were the only ones, besides Becky and Eric.

"Hey, Emma! Glad you could make it," He said, smiling as I took a seat in front of him. "Hey yeah me too," I said, trying to stay calm and reminding myself I'm not here to get bullied, like every other time, whenever I was around him, I only got hurt.

Levi took a seat next to me and Brendon sat next to Jesse."Hey, guys," Jesse said, a fake smile plastered in his face.

"Hey Jesse, I heard you just came back like a few days ago," Brendon said. "Yup, I did, "Jesse said, looking calmer thankfully.

"Still settling in?" Levi asked."Yeah, I've still got some things to unpack," Jesse said. "I guess Emma was pretty important to you since you came instead of unpacking?" Brendon then asked I could feel the air getting thicker.

Tf is he trying to do?

"Uh..yeah, well I did some um few things I didn't mean to do..and I changed during the year I wasn't here, so, I'm trying to start over with Emma," Jesse said, probably feeling the tension too.

Levi and Brendon both looked confused." I'll go order the food, what do you guys want to eat?" I asked quickly before the guys ask about anything else.

"Um, what about just get the family sized one or whatever it's called, you know the one with like 36 pieces or something," Levi suggested.

"Yeah, and what drinks?" I asked. "Coke," they all said in unison.

"Ok, I'll go order," I said, getting up and turning to walk but someone grabbed my hand, and I quickly turned my head to find Jesse behind me.

"I'll go since I'm the one who invited you," He said and walked away from the table. I shrugged and went back to my seat.

"Were you and Jesse a thing before?" Levi suddenly asked.

Of course, he just fucking had to.

"No, and never ever happening, we-well he made a lot of mistakes just as he told you," I say, hoping they would shut up after this.

But of course...

"What did he do?" Brendon and Levi asked together, leaning in closer on the table.

I didn't feel like talking about it, and bringing back the terrible memories, and I don't want them causing any drama.

"Nothing, happened okay? Now let's change the subject" I say, not even bothering to hint them that I don't want to talk about this and said it straight to them.

"Are you sure... You looked like you saw a ghost when we arrived here and stiffened up when you saw Jesse," Brendon pointed out.

"Yeah..I'm sure," I said.

I honestly wanted to tell everyone in the world that Jesse was a jerk and all that he did to me, but at the same time, I didn't want anyone to know.

Soon, Jesse came back with the food on a tray and took a seat, we all ate and the guys got along a lot more then I thought they would.

Which isn't that good... Jesse getting along with them isn't good at all.

"So, Emma, I didn't think you would be friends with the most popular guys at school.." Jesse said after we all finished our food.

"Me neither..but I guess I was wrong since they are my friends," I said.

I heard him mutter something under his breath, and somehow I knew exactly what he said.

'Now she is searching for attention to be famous? what an attention seeking bitch'

That's it. "I'm going to the bathroom," I said and got up before any of them said anything I locked my self in the cubicle and covered the lid of the toilet and sat on it.

I knew that stupid bully from my past would never change his ways. I wish I didn't accept his apology, but then if I didn't, he would bully me more... A part of me knew I was going to end up waiting for him to say something mean but another part of me was hoping he actually had changed.

I balled my fists, I was mad, what had I ever done to him? I don't get it.

That's when I heard a knock on the girls' bathroom door. "Emma, you okay in there?" I heard Levi say.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine," I lied. " We should go, Emma," Levi then said. "Yeah, okay I'll come out in a minute," I said, inhaling and exhaling deeply.

I walked out of the bathroom like nothing happened and went to the car, since no one was in the restaurant.

I slid in the back seat since Levi sat in the front with Brendon.

"Are you okay?" Brendon asked, "what the fuck happened?"

"I went to take a piss genius," I lied, rolling my eyes.

The rest if the ride was silent, which was great. When we arrived we got out of the car, and as we were walking to the front door, it started raining.

Brendon and Levi ran under the porch, but I stayed still and lifted my head up towards the sky.

I loved the rain.

"Emma, you coming in?" Levi asked." In a second" I said, throwing the keys to them.

When they got inside, I couldn't help but remember all the shitty things that Jesse had done to me.

Tears slowly flowed down my face but weren't obvious because of the rain.

That's why I loved it, no one would find out I was crying. I also loved the sound, especially reading on a rainy day.

I then went inside and took off my wet hoodie and hung it on the coat hanger and took off my wet shoes and rung my hair.

I walked to the kitchen for some chocolate, there I saw Brendon, his back facing me, then he turned around when he heard me open the fridge.

He gave me a weird look.

"What?" I asked as I took out my chocolate bar.

"Did you cry?" He asked, coming closer to me, staring into my eyes.

I look away quickly, I ran my fingers through my wet hair. "No, I didn't cry," I said, walking out of the kitchen and went to the living room where Levi was watching Tv.

He gave me a weird look.

Just like the one Brendon gave me, but I ignored it, so he didn't say anything.

Soon, Brendon came in as well and we watched TV, then after about 2 hours, I kicked them out saying that I needed to study.

I went upstairs after they left and sat in front of my study desk and took out my books and started on my essay's notes then got my computer to write down the essay, which was due tomorrow as homework.

..

It was lunch as I walked down the empty hallways and towards my locker.

Suddenly, someone grabbed my right arm, then my left, I looked to my sides, and found 2 guys, holding my arms and not letting go, I tried to get out of their hold but their grip just got stronger.

"Let go," I yelled, my voice only echoed down the empty hallways. They started to drag me to the back of the school, the abandoned part of the school and pushed the doors open.

I winced in pain as they pushed me down onto the cold rough ground.
