Chapter 3~ one last work

The next morning, Abi's mom, Rachel, gathered the family in the living room.

"Kids, today's a big day. We need to start packing for our move to the new house," Rachel announced.

Abi's excitement resurfaced. "We're moving tomorrow?"

Rachel nodded. "That's right. Phoenix Corporation's team will help us with the transition."

Bryson groaned. "Do we have to leave our friends behind?"

Rachel's expression softened. "I know it's hard, but this is a new chapter for our family. You'll make new friends and have amazing opportunities."

Austin asked, "What about our stuff? What can we take?"

John, Abi's dad, chimed in, "Pack essentials and favorites. The movers will handle the rest."

Abi sprinted to her room, eager to start packing. She began sorting clothes, books, and mementos.

Emily's face popped into her mind. She grabbed her phone and texted:

"Hey Em, it's happening tomorrow! I'll miss you so much!"

Emily replied:

"I'll miss you too! Take pics of your new house. Can't wait to see it!"

As Abi packed, her emotions swirled. Excitement for the new adventure clashed with sadness about leaving behind everything familiar.

Bryson poked his head into her room. "Hey, sis, need help?"

Abi smiled. "Yeah, thanks."

Together, they packed, shared laughs, and reminisced about memories they'd made in this house.

As the day drew to a close, Abi gazed around her nearly empty room.

"Tomorrow, we start anew."

Just then Austin walk in

Let me also help you pack " he said

Don't you guys also need to pack , why are you guys here ?

Don't worry about that, Austin said while robbing her head

As the packing progressed, Abi turned to Bryson and Austin . "Hey guys, want to take a walk around the neighborhood with me? One last time?"

. "Can I invite Emily

No prob, Bryson and Austin said

Abi texted Emily: "Meet us at the corner. We're taking one last walk around the neighborhood."

Emily replied: "Be there in 5!"

The four friends met at the corner, exchanging nostalgic smiles.

"Let's go to the old park," Austin suggested.

As they strolled, memories flooded their minds. Laughter, birthday parties, and countless afternoons spent playing tag.

Emily gazed at Abi, tears welling up. "I'll miss...  you."

Abi hugged her tight. "We'll stay close, Em. Promise."

At the park, they sat on their favorite swings, watching the sunset.

Bryson spoke up, "We'll always have these memories."

Austin nodded. "And we'll make new ones in our new home."

As twilight fell, they reluctantly stood up, knowing this chapter of their lives was closing.

"Let's take one last group selfie," Emily suggested.

Smiling, they huddled together, capturing the moment.

As they walked back home, Abi realized:

"Tomorrow, we start anew. But today, we cherish the past."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Abi and her brothers, Austin and Bryson, strolled through the front door, exhausted from their emotional walk.

"Hey, guys! Dinner's ready!" Rachel called out, greeting them with a warm smile.

Abi dropped her backpack, kicking off her shoes. "Finally! I'm starving!"

Austin mock-punched her. "You're always starving, Abi!"

Bryson chuckled. "Yeah, and you're always dramatic!"

Abi playfully rolled her eyes. "Shut up, guys! I'm just hungry!"

In the dining room, John smiled. "Well, you're in luck. Your mom made your favorite – lasagna!"

The siblings high-fived, racing to the table.

As they dug in, Abi teased, "Austin, you're going to turn into a lasagna noodle one day!"

Austin retorted, "At least I don't eat as much as you, Abi-the-Vacuum!"

Bryson snickered. "That's not fair, Austin! Abi's just passionate about food!"

Rachel intervened, laughing. "Okay, okay! No fighting at dinner. Save it for the road trip tomorrow!"

The siblings chuckled, continuing their lively banter.

After dinner, Abi helped her brothers load the dishwasher.

Austin started making silly faces, making Abi giggle.

Bryson joined in, and soon they were having a water-spraying, soap-bubble fight.

John poked his head in, grinning. "You three are something else. Get to bed early, we've got a long drive ahead!"

As they settled down, Abi texted Emily.

"Miss you already! Can't wait to share new adventures"

Emily replied, "Love you, Abi! Keep me posted!"

Abi smiled, drifting off to sleep.

The next morning would bring new beginnings.
