"Mom! I'm ho- well, nevermind then." I cut myself off the minute I see the note sitting on the table. I pick it up. It reads:

'Galaxy,

Your father and I went out for a bit. We will be home after you've already gone to bed. Love you so much!

Mom'

"Well, home to myself for a few hours." I smile, putting the note down. "It's time to break some rules."

The first thing I do is go into the attic. I have no idea why I was forbidden to go up there, I just was.

I spot a box sitting nearby, and all that's written on it is 'Galaxy'. I open it, pulling out a poster with  a boy holding a baby next to a woman that most definitely is not my mother.
They're smiling at the camera, but I can see the boy is focused on the baby. Written on the bottom part of it is 'Galaxy Smith, age 10 months, missing. Call (xxx) xxx-xxxx if you know anything.'

"Galaxy Smith?" I ask softly, putting the paper back and climbing out of the attic.

I head for the computer instantly. I put in the words 'Galaxy Smith' and a picture of a baby pops up. Then another one of what the baby would look like later on. I gasp. The baby looks like....

Me.

I turn off the computer and immediately grab the house phone.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Yes, um.... My name's Galaxy Spinshine. I just found some things and I think I might be the missing girl from all those years ago. Galaxy Smith?" I say into the phone.

"....could you come into the station? We need to take a blood test to see for sure."

"Yeah, I'll come by tonight, if that works."

"I'll let them know you're on your way."

The line then goes dead.

Well, it's time to tell the truth.
