Emily's p. o. v

A few months pass. Damon and I had grown apart. I didn't know what to do now. Elijah's brother, Klaus, had come back and taken over Alaric. Alaric and I had a past way long ago. Actually, not long ago. More like, when he first got here, we kind of became friends, hooked up a few times, but then we ended things and went to being friends. Now we just drink together. I have been thinking a lot lately about going back to Elijah. I just have this pull towards him. I am starting college soon with Elena but I'd rather be with Elijah before he leaves mystic falls and be able to start a family with him as I am the only one able to give him a family he's always wanted.

"Hey babe." Damon says breaking me from my thoughts.

I look up at him and sigh as I see him drinking all ready. I notice he had shaved and gotten a haircut. He also was only wearing a white towel draped around his waist. I smirk and get up. I kiss him softly. When he doesn't kiss back, I get confused and pull away.

"I think we should end things." He says

My eyes widen slightly. Tears form in my eyes as I look at him shocked.

"A-are you serious? After everything we've been through. I love you Damon. You love me. What happened to that?" I ask him

"I lost my love for you because I know eventually you'll leave me for Elijah anyways. Why wouldn't you? I'm a drunk and I don't treat you with the complete respect Elijah does. I am sorry. But it's over. Leave." He says.

I sigh. I get up from the bed where I had sat down and start packing my things. Once I finish, I bring them out to my car. I get in and look at the house one last time before I start driving. Tears form in my eyes even more. All of a sudden, I'm driving across the bridge my parents and Elena had driven off of and I see bright headlights in my lane. From that point, everything goes black.
