"A brother is a friend given by nature."

Singh Mansion
The living room
Karthika was not able to understand on the sudden silence that captured their peaceful family. Pratap was glaring at the mute Shivaay who didn't dare to look in the strict eye of his idol father.
Akash was just pacifying his mother who teared up but maintained her stand with the decision taken for the elder son of the family.
(Akash Pratap Singh)
Sandhya was trying to support her brother who glanced at her, with telling her that he was innocent. She nodded her head to let their father finish his stress and allow Shivaay to clear his side.
"...worms?!...really Shivaay?!!...the Dean flipped at it...if it was not for Sameer uncle?!...you would have been rusticated from the university!!...this is nonsense!!...utter nonsense!!...worms were spamming the whole cafeteria...thanks to you...!!" as Pratap yelled at his son who had no idea on how did his wallet got infested by worms and who would have pulled such a nasty joke on him.
"...Papa...believe me?!...I myself am shocked!!...how could I do such childish thing?!!...and that too on the Dean?!!...come on Papa?!!...trust me?!!" as a perplexed Shivaay approached his father who raised his palms for him to stop his explaining, Shivaay got offended on why was his father not believing his composed son.
"...maybe he is right?!...somebody else would have pulled a prank on him!!...we all know about Shivaay's OCD...it's not possible for him to do something like this!!...trust your son, Pratap!!..." on his wife's words Pratap glanced from her pleading face to Shivaay's remorseful ones and thought to give his son another chance with a warning.
"...well?!!...your mother saved you this time!!...but next time!!...I won't allow anyone to plead for you...again?!!...get that?!!...now study the new tender that we are working on and send me the presentation...first thing tomorrow morning!!..." Pratap moved from their space with glaring at his wife and son for the last time.
Shivaay got upset on disturbing his father's already frustrated state and thought about the culprit who had the audacity to pull something stupid and childish like putting worms in his wallet.
After two days,
On the apartment terrace
"...after two months?!! So soon!! But why?!!" was the usual question asked by Raji who glanced over her friends who could only purse their lips on the fate of their smart and mature friend – Gauri.
"...guess that's my life!!...away from my only happiness...*soft chuckle*.... *sigh*...well you guys should be happy that finally I am out of your lives...for good...*chuckles*..."
Reva hugged her crying audibly making even the other join the hug with Joe wiggling his tail.
"...hey guys!...what about Rahul's birthday bash?...we need to perk up our fun quotient!...let's do it!...come on!..." Gauri wiped her tears trying to lift up her friends sadden state.
As the friends discussed on the possible food menu and the return gifts for their guest, Gauri saw that Rahul gave her a teary-eyed look knowing very well her little trick.
In her apartment, Vyjanthi was serving the dinner to Siddarth who was quiet all the while. Vashishth opted to not spell a word during the time, as he knew that he didn't want to be the reason for his father's another line of outburst.
As the quiet girl sat to have her meal, the mother could just make her limbs perform the daily duty of a housewife. A pawn in the hands of the sad excuse of a husband.
The little girl reminisced each and every moment in the life of her mother as she glanced over the dark patches on the moon, peeping inside the living room aboding a cot. A miniscule place given to the child to sleep by the father, with the other bedroom given to the eldest son – the family's bright future.
People always appreciate the moon for its luminance but seldom talk about its scars that are visible only when looked closer.
The woman is always a thing of beauty and etiquette to this society. Be it a daughter, wife, mother – all are being grinded in this cruel world for their own pleasure. The smile on her face hides her darkest secret and gives the shine of a happy life.
Why?
Why always a woman?
Why her mother? – with these thoughts the innocent mind slept to rise triumphant for a new challenge being shifted to her lap by the same society.
After two weeks
Singh Mansion
"...Yes, Vyju!...it's quite tiresome...this wedding...the travel...I don't know how I am going to take care of everything...along with Pratap's sudden diabetes issue...Its now 300!!...I am so tensed...!!!" as Karthika kept the tea cup down with ordering her maid to deliver the cards to the last set of invitees of the wedding.
"...don't worry...Pratap Ji is going to be fine...its all this rush...maybe that's why he is stressed...just relax for two three days in Thailand itself...you know only both of you...it help you as well as him...hm?" as Vyjanthi suggested as a good friend, Karthika smiled with nodding her head.
"...Furry creature?!!...wait?!!" as Gauri ran behind the dog who enjoyed himself leash free after a long time; Gauri was not able to catch hold of him.
Even the servants ran to catch the prancing dog who barked louder than ever.
"...Blacky?!!...why the loud noise?!!...behave?!!...who removed your leash, huh?!..." as Shivaay entered the house with a limp, followed by Akash who saw a new cute little member in their house – the perky misshaped hair little girl who pouted at the way Shivaay shouted at the dog.
Shivaay felt his anger ascend with seeing the culprit who was responsible for his suspension from college for a week with her worms prank.
"...relax, bro!!...the dog found a new mate...hey? *kneeling down to Gauri's height*...who are you?...I am Akash...and you are?..." as a smiling Akash introduced himself to the angry pouted Gauri who turned her attention to the human looking person, she smiled a little with replying "...Gauri Ahuja...that's my mom *pointing at Vyjanthi*...with aunty...you're a family member here?!...or friend...of...*looking at the angered Shivaay*..."
"...Oh...yes...I am your aunt's youngest son...this is Shivaay...my elder brother...*chuckles*..." as Akash liked the way the confident girl was not getting fazed by the tall males who towered her but it was the right opposite.
Gauri had an unknown aura to make her listener feel proud of her presence and even commanded over them with her stern gaze.
An uninterested Shivaay rolled his eyes and went inside with Gauri muttering '...Tarzan!!...*scoffs*...' which didn't go unheard by Akash.
"...did he hurt you or scolded you?!...that you are calling him names!...hm?!!" as Akash asked the poker faced girl caressing her shoulders, Gauri shaked her head smiling with excusing that he was too tall and had a giant body for her to name him so.
Akash laughed loudly at her words, getting up from his knelt position and brushed her hair with moving inside. Gauri liked this brother and smiled with a little blush, watching him go like a prince. Blacky diverted her attention with his bark and wagged his tail to play with the now overly happy Gauri.
After a month
It was the time of the Singh's wedding bash for their daughter – Sandhya.
The Thailand destination wedding was a blast for the family with friends and honourable guest from across the globe.
They all were basking in the hot summer, while relaxing near the pool side terrace of the seven-star hotel, which the Singh's had booked for their daughter's wedding.
"...*sigh*...this is life!...I am telling you guys?!...it can't get better than this!..." as he sipped his cocktail, Shivaay slumped back on the long chair, as his friends came towards him.
"...champ!...she is here!..." one of his friends called him out whispering to which Shivaay side smiled and hurried to the reception to see her. His heartthrob, his first real crush. His dusky beauty Lalia.
The group of young blooded male species ran to the reception area to have a glimpse of the superstar Laila.
Laila was the 90s Bollywood superstar who reigned over half of the nation's heart with her sizzling performance.
So, it was evident that she would be having them following around like lost puppies.
"...I am so sorry Sir...but we are not allowed to share the details about our other guests without their consent...." The manager replied to their eagerness to see the lady superstar. But alas.
The boys were about to leave when...
"...how about now, hm?" Shivaay wiggled his eyebrows by waving the 100 rupees in front of the greedy manager who slightly shaked his head trying to maintain his stance.
But when Shivaay whistled with the 300 rupees bill in front of the manager, he tucked the bill in his pocket and whispered to him the detail that they wanted.
It seems the superstar was having her photoshoot near the beach for an ad shoot.
(Laila)
"...Man!...is it me or has she grown more sensuous than before?!...I mean wow!!!..." one of his friends blurted out his inner feeling for the serene beauty as she waved the satin shawl over the wind to get the perfect shoot.
The photographer hyped her a lot when she smiled with her most calm and sexy look.
"...beautiful Laila!!...perfect!!..."
"...woah!!...she is dark!!...I thought she would be fair?!!...like on the magazine cover!!...but eww!!!...man!!...I think we should move out of this disgust!!..." Tanmay remarked behind Shivaay's shoulder who screwed his brows at the silly words and looked back at him.
"...leave!!...leave!! man!!..." he shrugged the stupid illiterate boy out of the radar for the offensive words against his star.
"... why?!!...just because I stated the facts, huh?...Man, she is ugly!...pfft!!...I am not staying around to see the ugly woman!!.... humph!!!..." saying his mind out, Tanmay jogged out of the beach area with the other males rolling their eyes at the naïve boy's nonsense talks.
Shivaay shaked his head at the utter nonsense his ex-friend blurted out, ruining his mood altogether. As he and his friends left the beach to go back to the hotel for the evening party.
In the evening
The family were enjoying their time with their special friends and relatives amidst the frolicky of the youngsters.
Shivaay was vibing with his friends on the beat of the music, with singing along on the song of his favourite artist.
In Sandhya's room
"...Arrey, I told you na!...I didn't send the invitation to him!...Rakesh...darling...how many times do I have to tell you...hello?!...hello?!!...*tsk*..." Sandhya just kept the landline with a bang on getting irritated on the constant suspicion being raised by her fiancé.
Rakesh was the jealous type who would not like even Shivaay talk more than 2 minutes with Sandhya.
Karthika was against this alliance but when her husband made her understand the way their daughter would lead a princess's life in the most humble Bhatia family, he could only wish for the best future for her only daughter.
"...Beta!...did you eat your meal?...we have to move to the hall...the party is going to start in 10 minutes..." Karthika came inside the room and saw her daughter's crease brow, sensing the talk that she must have had with Rakesh.
As the mother listened to the never-ending complaints of her daughter, Pratap ringed the room to get the bride onto the hall.
