Quidditch was more a religion than a sport at Hogwarts and the entire school turned out to watch each match played throughout the year. Gryffindor finished 2nd after Ravenclaw, losing the final match against the latter, much to the disappointment of the house.

Soon after the final match came the end of the year exams. James, Sirius and Peter felt increasingly glad that Remus was their friend. Remus seemed to know everything, and he could always patiently explain them things they couldn't understand.

Remus was so good-hearted and kind that even Lily couldn't hold a grudge against him because of who his friends were. And as Lily and Remus were the only ones who had diligently listened in the class and studied throughout the year, they found something common, and became good friends.

The exams were over in the second week of June. The results were declared soon after. Sirius and James came first and second, much to the horror and incredulity of everyone else. But the teachers were gradually beginning to realize that the two biggest troublemakers of the school were probably also the cleverest.
