Frank and Alice's wedding was arranged in April. They had booked a Muggle hall for the day for a wizard style wedding. All the Orders members were invited, of course, and they promised to provide all the safety they could.

Maybe Death Eaters didn't want to clash with the entire Order; they did not attack that day. The wedding passed smoothly and beautifully. Frank and Alice were so obviously devoted to each other that when they took their vows, it brought a smile on everyone's face in the hall, even Moody's.

Frank's fiery tempered mother was extremely popular too. The wedding feast matched the beautiful decorations.

It ended as one of the best days for the Order since the war started.

James couldn't help feeling that Frank and Alice had taken the right decision. They were in a war and no one knew what would happen tomorrow.

Lily noticed that James had become rather secretive for a few days, and one day he was not at home when she came back, and didn't return till an hour had passed.

"Where were you?" demanded Lily angrily. But James evaded the question. A suspicious Lily decided to drop the topic.

Two days later, James called Lily to the attic.

"The attic?" asked Lily, narrowing her eyes.

"Any problem?" demanded James. Lily rolled her eyes and followed him.

She opened the door and gasped. The attic had been decorated with flowers and birds. There was clearly the touch of someone who was not an expert in these things. But Lily thought it was extremely sweet of James.

She turned to look at him. James was messing his hair in his old characteristic gesture. Close by, Lily thought that he looked nervous.

"Lily...I—er—you know I love you," he began.

"Yes, I know. I love you too," said Lily, wondering where this was heading.

"So will you—well, will you marry me?"

Lily stared at James for almost a whole minute.

"Of—of course I will, James," said Lily at last.

There was another silence. Then suddenly James laughed out loud and took Lily's arms. Lily started laughing too, and the two young lovers amidst the war laughed and laughed. There were people dying outside and the world was raging with war, but at that moment James and Lily knew no one apart from the two of them.
